I'd settle for ANY type of development between those two. Other than the episode where Ted shows Robin his building design plan at his office at the end, those two have been pretty much ignored all year. And that's kinda strange, considering he's supposed to be the main character.

I'm watching that thinking she's not that dumb . . . until she gets to the car of course. I remember watching that on TV last year. The best part is Bob's reaction, which gets cut off. He's sitting there absolutely disgusted, mouthing the words "I can't believe it." Finally, he looks at the camera, holds up the microphone and goes, "I... I... Ugh, we'll be back after this."

I'm pretty sure every one of the first 10 or 11 WMs were in the afternoon (and with WM 7 taking place in LA, it was actually a 1 p.m. local start that day), as were a lot of the early Royal Rumbles. A 4 p.m. start would actually make a lot of sense now, at least from February through August. Whether they admit it or not, WWE markets itself very strongly to kids. I can remember when I was little, trying to convince my parents to let me stay up for shows like SummerSlam (always an 8 p.m. start on the night before the first day of school) was a challenge. Start a show at 4 p.m., and that problem is suddenly gone. There's a reason the NBA schedules a ton of national TV games for Sunday afternoons beginning in mid-February. There's a void in TV viewing left when the NFL ends. As long as WWE wouldn't try to sell a PPV on a Sunday afternoon during the NFL season, I think they could do fine otherwise.

*whispers* that had most of that stuff on youtube..I was surprised it wasnt deleted... Was this right before Survivor Series 01? If it's still up on youtube, do you have the link? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn3Oukmt0GM Its good..It's best of the Rock..It's like 5 of these 6 minute vids..Best Of Rocky That was officially the point where the Austin-Rock rivalry transcended the level of being a normal feud. Just surreal to watch. And by the way, Austin's heel goatee was officially out of control here. Just awesome.

I don't really have as big of a problem with Steve-O laughing after getting his ass kicked. Keep in mind, the whole gimmick of the Jackass guys is that they they entertain themselves and the audience by seeing how much pain they can inflict on themselves. They get legitimately hurt doing a lot of their stunts, yet are still laughing about it every now and then. It's almost a defense mechanism for them. It's not a typical sell for an attack in pro wrestling, but it also would have looked weird for these guys who have been through way worse to suddenly act like they're dead from Umaga's offense. -
Characters that should NEVER be allied.

I agree, and it makes 2001 all the more frustrating in retrospect because they set up a BRILLIANT angle and pissed it all away... You had Austin, the reigning alpha dog of the company returning from injury who was trying to win back his championship. Rock, meanwhile, had become The Man of the company in Austin's absence. Austin, a little slower and now on the downside of his career, knew he might not be able to beat the Rock as he had in the past. But Austin was so desperate to get back on top of the mountain, he was willing to do ANYTHING to get there, even if it meant aligning himself with his archnemesis, Vince McMahon. This was foreshadowed beautifully in that face-to-face studio interview just before Wrestlemania, where Austin told Rock, "I NEED this match Rock... More than you'll ever know." Everything building up to and including the turn itself at WM was executed perfectly, and the next night on Raw they began blowing it. Some of it was bad booking, some was bad timing, other parts were just bad luck. Consider: - Austin immediately aligned himself with Triple H, a man he'd just been feuding with for months. - The WCW buyout made the Invasion the company's top priority, and Austin's turn, which easily could have been the focal point for the year, had to be shoehorned into WWF vs. Alliance angle (which was botched on so many levels I don't know where to begin). - Austin was injured by Booker T. at the KOTR, forcing him out of action for an extended time over the summer. He was left doing comedy skits with Angle instead of being an ass-kicking monster heel. They sort of got back on the right track with Angle being the virtuous face stepping up to challenge Austin by SummerSlam, with Austin going to desperate lengths to keep his title, but with everything mixed into the tanking Invasion angle, it fell flat. The real money storyline they had there was Austin, the past-his-prime legend being so desperate to get back to the top he'd align with McMahon. The next step would have been McMahon manipulating him into doing things to further his own agenda (after all, what's in this alliance for McMahon if he can't get Austin to do his bidding finally?). Once Austin started doing that, he would have become the very thing he'd been fighting against for years. He'd have been a fallen hero corrupted by power. THEN (and on my imaginary timeline here, I'm saying around the road to the following WM), you have the new babyface step up to take down Austin. Austin, having lost his title at WM18, gets pushed around by McMahon for the last time shortly after, finally snaps and reverts to his old ways, kicking McMahon's ass, leading to some sort of a blowoff match at Summerslam against, perhaps, a new McMahon goon. Austin wins there and can ride off into the sunset with his hero status restored. -

Saw a commercial for tonight's Raw on Sunday Night Football. It had the new Papa Roach theme song, a new Raw logo and some new graphics too. Visually, it was all pretty cool, but I'm still not sold on the new song. And from the way that preview reads, there might *GASP* finally... POSSIBLY... be a new challenger for Cena. Thank God. -
Um, what? Where did you read this? The schedule for next week has the show still airing at 8:30. And if HIMYM is moving to 8, then what's happening with The Class?
-
Raw has had the same intro for how long now? I'm pretty sure Raw changed its logo and graphics and updated the TitanTron in April '02. They did some tweaking with the match promo graphics and also the stuff on the sides of the TitanTron (switching from the weird shapes to the rectangular screens) beginning with the first show back on USA in Oct. '05.

I saw this USA promo today. I don't think this is "new GM" situation. The tone was more "who is going to step up while the McMahons are ailing?". It definitely did NOT strike me as a case of "Who's going to control Raw now that the McMahons are out of the picture?" In other words, expect more of the same old-same old.

A one-shot deal done for no other reason than to cheaply inflate SmackDown's rating on its first night on a new network? Nah........

Has the Raw main event scene ever been this stale?

<Insert generic authority figure title> Ric Flair: Right here tonight... It's gonna be Bradshaw and Stone Cold... vs. the NWO! The following week... Flair: TONIGHT, in this very ring... We're gonna have Stone Cold and BRADSHAW....... vs. the NWO! The FOLLOWING week... Flair: Tonight, in the main event, it's gonna be.... the NWO..... vs. Bradshaw................... and STONE COLD! -
OAO ECW on Sci-Fi Thread - September/12th/2006.

Show's gonna go flying off/through the cage for your HOLY SHIT moment of the evening. I was actually thinking that it was going to be Shane that would go flying off/through the cage. Show falling can hurt someone else or himself very badly. You know, as much as I think the way they book HIAC matches now, with more emphasis on grueling, barbaric punishment, part of me really misses the days of the crazy, 'holy shit' bumps they used to throw in. Nothing in a HIAC match will ever top the Undertaker-Mankind match, but it would be fun to see them try. -

This Heyman promo is fantastic. -
as far as HBK/HHH goes, I know if someone was trying to permanently cripple me by putting a sledgehammer to my already injured back, I'd pretty much never reconcile that friendship. Oh come on... Water under the bridge!

I just wish they'd let CM Punk come out in the middle of RAW or someone who might actually utilise the reaction to make a name for themselves cos right now there just doesn't look like there's anyone upwardly mobile in the company. Well, I think you're SORT OF going to get your wish, as they are taping ECW tonight at MSG instead of at tomorrow's Smackdown, so while Punk won't be on Raw, he'll at least have the same fanbase to work in front of on tomorrow's show.

Unless I'm looking at the wrong product, where are you getting $200 from? http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Wonder-Years-Chris...1QQcmdZViewItem

How about the Matt Hardy-Edge match from SummerSlam last year? Pretty good brawl and just as it really got going, the referee stopped the match after a stomp to the head.
-
I normally really like Meltzer's stuff, but that might be one of the dumbest statements I've ever read.
-
Damn it, I don't have the money for that right now, but I am sooooo tempted.
-
Yeah, the loser-out-as-GM thing happened in '03. The stip of the '04 match was that the members of the winning team would each get to run Raw for a week during Bischoff's vacation after SurSer.

Nobody puts over a heel beatdown quite like JR. Absolutely loved his tirade when the McMahons were teeing off last night, capped off by this ridiculous gem after Vince announced the HIAC match: "The finality in that statement is perverse." Seriously, who else could pull that line off? And one other side note: They need to have shows in that arena in Atlantic City more often. With the lighted ceiling, it's a really cool looking venue, one of the few distinct arenas left on the WWE's circuit.

Family Guy, Entourage, Sopranos and Scrubs? Totally wouldn't have pegged her for having taste that good in television.

That clip, combined with the caption underneath, had me choking on my lunch here. Fucking gold. -
I have an LG V, and I'm looking to download a game for it, but I can't decide which. I'd rather not buy a game for $7 or $8 bucks and then discover it blows. I'd prefer something that doesn't require airtime use. Any suggestions?
