Basically I included Cincy because everybody's raving about Graves(However misaligned it may be) and Riedling's been very solid.

Bugger it, I'll do an experiment seeing which team's starters throw the most pitches per game combined. Should be fun at least.

That I unfortunately can't give you(It would require me to do pretty much every pitcher out and I don't feel like doing 150 starters plus the guys who have spot started). If it eats at you though, feel free to attempt it yourself Here are the league leaders as of 5/30 though in number of pitches thrown(doesn't necessarily mean that they lead the league in pitches per game though as Schilling, 2nd to Zambrano, is throwing 112 per game). AL Leader = Tampa Bay's Victor Zambrano(1271/12 = 106 pitches per game) NL Leader = Montreal's Livan Hernandez(1201/11 = 109 pitches per game)

    This Week in Baseball

According to MLB.com, Beckett's averaging 98 pitches per game(506 through March/April and 572 through May 30th, thus 1078 pitches divided by the 11 games pitched in results in 98 per game). Just for fun, he's also averaging 16 pitches per inning for this season. He's thrown over 100 pitches 6 times and more then 110 4 of those starts with another being 109.

UGLY call by the home plate ump on Ichiro. Calling him on a strikeout when the pitch was way off the plate and his bat didn't cross the plate either. I'm a Sox fan but still, ugly.

Wow. It's called a slump. Every great players go through slumps. If you can't tell a difference than this year and last year with Dunn, then I don't know what the hell you are watching. Plus, he just faced some of the best pitchers in the game the last few nights and a lefty, so give him so time. It's only been a few days. He went 2-2 with a double the other day, and 2-4 and 3-5 a few days beore that. I'd probably call this a slump though if it continues then he might just be regressing big time(hit .249 in 2002 and .215 last year). Since May 15th, he's gone 7/43(.163) in 12 games and has struck out 20 times. I think if he wants to turn into a good hitter, he's going to have to cut his K rate down a lot and try and focus on making contact more(He has a .41 K per AB rate).

I'm officially "managing" my teams as I'm hoping it'll give me a bit of an advantage. Managing as in, starting/subbing based on matchups, etc.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if James and I can both top the 20-25 HR's and 50-60+ SB plateau each. We're the SFBL's version of Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo...except we can hit HR's too
