Very disappointing first week offensively esp. Damn I need Trot and Prior back ASAP
-
I've specifically gone on eating binges and have gained like 1-2 pounds in 2 weeks. I've mostly weighed between 110-125 since 8th grade or so(Currently in senior year of high school). Seems like no matter how much I eat, I can't gain any weight and at times it's annoying as hell but for the most part I don't really care.

1978 Red Sox, cruising into September by doing everything right while the Yankees were basically doing the opposite of the Sox then the Yanks come back to take the lead. Sox manage to tie on the final day of the season and then Bucky F'n Dent shows up...

#1: Carlton Fisk's "Fair, Fair" pantomine #2: Ken Griffey Jr scoring on the Edgar Martinez hit in the 1995 playoffs against the Yankees #3: Last Year's Playoffs with the come back wins/beating the Oakland A's in Game 5

Jeez, anybody else thinking PETCO Park or whatever is a HR hitter's hell?
-
Oakland now takes the lead 2-1 in the 7th on an RBI single off Eddie Guardado
-
As a Sox fan, beating the Yankees would probably be satisfying however if a WS win didn't couple with it then it would really be meaningless in most fans of the Red Sox's eyes

Hit & Run double gets a tie at 1-1 now in the Oakland/Seattle game

A's and Mariners will lock up in 15 minutes, should be another fun game with Meche facing Hudson

Yankee Records in 1980's 1980: 103-59 1981: 59-48 1982: 79-83 1983: 91-71 1984: 87-75 1985: 97-64 1986: 90-72 1987: 89-73 1988: 85-76 1989: 74-87 Total: 854-708 Certainly not as horrible as all you Yankee fans make it out to be. Sure they didn't win any WS titles but to say they were "dark" ages is ridiculous. There only losing seasons were 1982(By only 4 games) and 1989(By 13 games).

Chill, I have a feeling he could be available in the 2nd round by my pick(#57) and if he isn't, there are other options. This way though our offensive line which IS a pressing need moreso then the position you wanted gets touched upon allowing us to focus on other aspects that may/may not be trouble.

Best Team Ever: Easily the 1927 Yankees. They had 130 more runs then 2nd place Detroit(975 to 845) and allowed 109 fewer runs then 2nd place Chicago White Sox(599 vs Chicago's 708). Had 2 guys with 200+ hits and Ruth had 192. 4 players had .400+ OBP's, Bob Meusel has a .393 OBP and Tony Lazzeri had a .383 OBP. Only 1 20 game winner in Waite Hoyt but Urban Shocker & Herb Pennock had 18 & 19 wins respectively and "CL" Wilcy Moore also went 19-7 with a 2.28 ERA. They finished with a team ERA of 3.20 and a team OBP of .381. Best team that I've ever seen, the 1998 Atlanta Braves probably. A team ERA of 3.25 with 3 pitchers getting sub 3 ERA's(Maddux at 2.22, Glavine at 2.47, Smoltz at 2.90) and all of the starters winning at least 16 and losing at most 11. A poor .338 team OBP but a respectable .453 team SLG and a .272 team BA. 3 players had 30+ HR's, 1 with 40+ and all this despite the most games among the starters was 160 by Chipper, 159 by Andruw Jones and 153 by Galaragga. Everybody else played in at most 133 games.

With the 32nd Pick, the New England Patriots select Center Jake Grove from Virginia Tech. He'll make up the void left by Damien Woody and gives the offensive line a much needed aggressive, physical presence. OVERVIEW Great leader who really set the pace for the rest of the offensive line … A relentless warrior on the field, Grove has everything you want a center to have … Tough, physical, aggressive and possesses the intangibles needed to play the game at the highest level … Versatile player who found a home at center in his final year after playing right guard as a junior and sophomore … One of three players in school history to earn unanimous All-America honors, joining center Jim Pyne (1993) and linebacker Corey Moore (1999). ANALYSIS Positives: Has thick muscle mass throughout with thick thighs and calves, and broad shoulders and chest … Tough, aggressive player who competes from snap to whistle … Has good initial quickness off the ball and into his blocks … Can reach the down blocks with very good effectiveness … Has the short-area quickness needed to chip and reach block on the linebackers … More stronger than explosive, latching on with his powerful hands to control the defender … Fires off the line with good quickness, showing proper body movement to lock on and drive the defenders off the line in running plays … Makes quick decisions when adjusting to make the reach blocks at the second level, keeping his leg base wide as he mirrors the linebacker's moves … Shows good field vision and fluid feet to adjust and recognize twists and stunts … Has adequate knee bend and body flexibility, with above-average hand placement as he works inside to control … Quick in his kick slide, getting in front to pick up the defensive end while maintaining balance and body control in his slide … Quarterback of the offensive line, rarely making bad blocking assignment calls … Has the tough leadership quality you look for in a center (will grab defenders by the throat if that's what it takes to get the job done) … Plays on his feet and will rarely overextend or get caught out of position. Negatives: Has good functional strength, but his arms need more muscle development … Can get physical if he has to, but you'd like to see that nasty nature he sometimes displays more often (does not always finish blocks with the fire you'd like) … Does not pull much in Virginia Tech's scheme, but shows adequate agility and balance on the move.

I propose they're all on steroids

Rangers against Oakland in 15 and Yankees vs D-Rays in 45
-
Thomas is on the 18th pitch on his 1st AB...god damn. Manages to draw a walk after all that
-
White Sox and Royals starting it off today. Darrell May going for Kansas City, Esteban Loaiza for the White Sox I believe
-
Good run there it seemed
-
a sacrifice fly by Toby Hall gets the D-Rays leading by 2 now, who ever would've thought huh?
-
Not good at all for the Yankees, looks like 1 run will score at the very least. Bases loaded with Lugo coming up
-
Man, Tampa's just striking while the iron's hot it seems and the Yankees can't do a thing to stop them
-
He struck out looking if it's any consilation, heh.
