2nd closest by my count was the New York Yankees vs New York Giants/San Francisco Giants at 7 series matchups ironically enough(Since the Dodgers hate the Giants and vice versa). Series: 1921, 1922, 1923, 1936, 1937, 1951 and 1962 with the Yankees winning 5 and the Giants winning 2.

Yeah hold it Flik, also what if the slots all get filled in Tom's? We could still play in yours. I'm a junkie so the more leagues the merrier

He could've been backing my response up as well as I asked if KKK meant Jeff Suppan prior to his answer

Yankees will lose Boone's $5.75 Mill, Mariano Rivera's $10.89 Mill and Gabe White's $2.40 Mill contracts in 2005 assuming they aren't re-signed. Juan Acavedo has a 2004 option buyout. Mike Lamb has an $8 Mill option for 2005. David Wells and Gabe White both have/had 2004 buyout options. Red Sox will lose Alan Embree's $2.75, Nomar's $11.50, Derek Lowe's $5, Pedro's $17.50, Ramiro Mendoza's $3.60, David Ortiz's $4.59, Jason Varitek's $6.70 and Scott Williamson's $3.18 Million contracts. Embree has a $3 Mill option in 2005 vested(?) with 50 appearances. Bobby Howry has a 2004 buyout option. Jeff Suppan has a 2004 buyout option. Angels will lose David Eckstein's $2.15, Troy Glaus' $9, Ramon Ortiz's $2.42, Troy Percival's $7.50, Aaron Sele's $8.50 and Jarrod Washburn's $5.45 Million contracts. Ramon Ortiz has an option for 2005 however.

I think Henry's stupid for trying to deflect the blame here when he had an opportunity but failed to complete it and this is coming from a Sox fan.

Damn...that's a shame considering he was really blossoming in 1911 & 12

*despises autodraft despite setting the rankings already* Had bad experiences in the past

What happened to him? Went 15-5 in 1915 with a 1.49 ERA @ age 25 and then just missed all of 1916...
-
Red Sox management back then was just dumb July 29th, 1919: Traded Carl Mays(despite a 5-11 record, had a 2.47 ERA) to the Yankees Dec. 15th, 1920: Traded Waite Hoyt to Yankees March 4th, 1921: Traded Harry Hooper to Chicago White Sox after he hit .312 the previous season Dec. 20th, 1921: Traded Sam Jones(After going 23-16 in 1920) to the Yankees Dec. 24th, 1921: Traded Stuffy McInnis(.300 in 3 of 5 past seasons prior to trade) to Cleveland January 30th, 1923: Traded Herb Pennock to Yankees. Proceeded to get 20+ wins in 2 of next 4 seasons Looking back, management just tore apart the Red Sox and basically killed whatever chance they had to win during the 1920's. Hell, they were doing the dismantling prior to trading Ruth away. In 1916 they traded away Tris Speaker, then traded Duffy Lewis in 1918 to the Yankees. Gave Smokey Joe Wood to Cleveland in 1917 too. Traded Dutch Leonard to Detroit in 1919, Ernie Shore in 1918 to the Yankees, ... Sorry about going on but this is just fucking mind boggling at how many great players we just traded away. Man, in the 1920's Boston could've fielded a team with Babe Ruth, Duffy Lewis, Tris Speaker, Dutch Leonard, Ernie Shore and Smokey Joe Wood...

What about doing it at night then?

I wouldn't mind having Renteria replace Nomar but I wouldn't let Pedro walk. The guy's too dominant to just let go free and Wood allows way too many walks(80+ throughout his career including 100 last year) and gives up a fair share of HR's. I wouldn't mind having Morris but there's no way that he could replace Pedro's talent.

Personally I'm not surprised that Colorado was caught. They have a HUGE reputation as a party school and sooner or later something scandalous was going to happen, esp. given the reputation.

Kendall had a surprisingly good year last year(.325/.399/.416/.815) however considering he'll be making $7.5 Mill this year and increasing to $9.5 next year, I don't think that any team would be willing to take him just because the salary is so much and do you mean Jeff Suppan?

Interesting there Bored...wonder if he'll be indicted now

Greg Maddux signs with Cubs

AS would probably go either a)suicidal or b)kill Steinbrenner and all the office members of the Yankees...that or find Jeff Weaver

I'm in...kinda obvious at my team name(I use it in all my leagues now). Oh and I promise I won't be banned by Yahoo this time! Just in case it happens, I let ya have the chance to edit my team in case it does happen. Anyways, I'll be in school that day and won't get out till 3:00 ET(I'll probably get home by then driving wise, assuming traffic isn't that bad) so I'd probably miss that draft if it were live.
-
I still keep up with my basketball league(Only one besides like 2 others out of 12) and as long as I don't get banned *grumbles and looks at NBA Thread* then I'll be fine.

Only reason I put A-Rod at the 3 hole was because in 2415 AB's he has a .306/.399/.611/1.010 line. Sheffield has a .304/.405/.545/.950 line at the 3 hole in 4736 AB's. Looking at it now, I'd maybe put Sheffield at the 4 hole and Giambi at the 5 spot. Therefore pitchers are forced to pitch to Sheffield and it gives the Yankees a dangerous 3-4-5 section. I may shift Posada to the 6th spot(.288/.400/.515/.915 line), Bernie to the 8th(.349/.431/.604/1.035 in 106 AB's) and Matsui to the 7th. What's amazing is that with this lineup you can do an assortment of things and the lineup remains so dangerous... Updated Lineup #1: Kenny Lofton #2: Derek Jeter #3: Alex Rodriguez #4: Gary Sheffield #5: Jason Giambi #6: Jorge Posada #7: Hideki Matsui #8: Bernie Williams #9: Enrique Wilson/Miguel Cairo

I'm a fantasy junkie, the more leagues available the happier I am. Earliest date I've seen just to see was the 24th, about a week from today.

I'll say 4 errors. Here's my lineup projection(taking in career order according to Yahoo. Basically where they hit best) #1: Kenny Lofton #2: Derek Jeter #3: Alex Rodriguez #4: Jason Giambi #5: Bernie Williams #6: Gary Sheffield #7: Hideki Matsui #8: Jorge Posada #9: Enrique Wilson Lofton leads off, solid leadoff hitter. Jeter can advance/put the ball in play. A-Rod is great #3 hitter and pitchers can't IBB him because then they'd be facing Giambi. Williams is in at the 5th spot as he'll see better pitches with Sheffield protecting him in the order. Matsui will bat 7th to give some power in the backend of the lineup followed by Posada who is still dangerous. Wilson limps at the #9 spot as he's there just because there's no better place for him. I like this projection because it makes pitchers aware that even though there isn't necessarily a "heart of the lineup", there's basically a dangerous hitter at each of the 3 groups. A-Rod in the 1-2-3, Giambi & Sheffield in the 4-5-6, Matsui & Posada in the 7-8-9.

I'm in for both/three leagues Tom & Al. It'd be interesting to see how I do in an AL setting vs an NL setting. Also it'd be neat to do an AL/NL league as I've always done a mixed.
