    The NFL All-Time Draft.

I love Levon Kirkland... he was one of the first "linebackers" that I knew by jersey number along with Lloyd on that defense.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

My top 3 teams... Note: I think a defense heavy team can be a bit overrated. Canadian Brandon - Really, really strong offense especially with an offensive architect in Bill Walsh at the helm. Vitamin X - Another underrated team overall. JustJohn - Great defense coupled with a smashmouth style offense.

The Patriots also have three running backs on their roster too though: Laurence Maroney, Sammy Morris (also like KJ has struggled with injuries), and a 3rd down back in Kevin Faulk.

I know that the Patriots liked Kevin Jones when he was coming out of Virginia Tech, for whatever that's worth. I really like KJ as a running back and think he'd make great depth and possibly challenge for the starting role. What I like about him is that despite playing behind a poor offensive line and being underused by Martz at times, he has the following numbers. - In 11 games where he's had 20 carries, he has a YPC of 4.51 including games against Chicago, Dallas, Green Bay, and Baltimore. I think that the team that signs him, if he ever becomes a starter, would be smart to have him average around 18-19 carries a game (In a full 16 games that'd be 288-304).
  5. Just saw Mute Witness from 1994 on the Verizon On Demand under FEARnet (for those who have it). Synopsis: Billy Hughes is a mute young lady working for make-up on a cheap horror picture being filmed in Moscow by an American director. One night Billy gets locked in the movie studio. Later that night she hears that someone might be in the building and goes to check it out. That's when she stumbles across a woman being brutally murdered, while being filmed. After escaping the clutches of the murderers, Billy informs the authorities, only to be red-faced when the men show it was an act. Billy knows what she saw and soon her life is in turmoil again from underground figures that believe she has something of importance. Marina Zudina was surprisingly hot IMO (and bonus points for a shot of breasts/ass). Movie was solid to good overall, although by the end it started getting a bit over the top and lost the suspense at points. The chase scene at the start is one of the more gripping chase scenes I've seen and it's worth checking out just for that. Also strong performances from Zudina, Oleg Yankovsky, and Igor Volkov. Score: 7/10 (RT critics & users gave it 70%+). Tight little suspense thriller that should be seen.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

WR Don Maynard The Glory - 4x Pro Bowl - 5x All Pro - AFL All-Time Team - 1967 AFL All-Star MVP - 1 SB Ring The Stats - 11,834 yards receiving & 88 TD - Averaged 64 yards receiving per game - Career 18.70 YPC - Led the NFL with 102.4 RYPG in 1967 and 99.8 RYPG in 1968 He was the go to receiver for Joe Namath and was known for improvising his routes. Also has solid size at 6'0" and 180 lbs. to go opposite Paul Warfield on the other side and was a big play threat as evidenced by his 18.7 YPC. My team is all about the big play on both sides of the ball and Don Maynard will be an absolute weapon with Steve Young at the helm. I think we've hit like 6-7 picks today (and we still have 2 and 1/2 hours). Nice!

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

Well, I finally fill that RB position. RB Billy Sims The Glory - 3x Pro Bowl - 1980 NFC Rookie of the Year The Stats - Averaged 120 total yards per game in his career - Averaged 85 yards rushing per game in his career - Career 4.51 YPC - Averaged 19 carries and 3 catches per game in his career - Career 11.14 YPC on 186 catches Had good size at 6'0", 212 lbs. and could probably hold up as a blocker for Steve Young if called upon. More importantly, he has big play ability as a receiver and could be split wide ala Reggie Bush at times as yet another receiving threat for my Run N' Shoot offense. Also would be a capable runner on draws. He'll be deadly in an offense that let guys like Gary Brown put up a 5.1 YPC. Barry Sanders played in the Run N' Shoot for most of his early career with Detroit. 'Nuff said.

    2008 NBA Draft

Since I know next to nil on any of the prospects... Anybody have thoughts about the following? They seemed to jump out at me a bit, stat wise. PG Sean Singletary (Virginia): Averaged 19.0 and 19.8 PPG the last 2 seasons with great FT%. Also had 6.1 APG and averaged almost 2 SPG for 3 seasons. SG Jaycee Carroll (Utah State): Seems like an absolute shooter in every sense of the word. 22.4 PPG with 52.6% FG, 91.9% FT, and 49.8% 3. Averaged 6 RPG and 2 APG the last 2 seasons. SG Demetric Bennett (South Alabama): See Carroll. Averaged 19.7 PPG with 48.1% FG, 83.6% FT, and 40.5% 3. Averaged roughly 6 RPG and 2 APG the last 2 seasons. PF Frank Eleger (Drexel): Averaged 14 PPG at 55.9% FG with 8 RPG, 1 APG, and 2 BPG.

He was 1 of about 5 guys at RB that I was thinking about taking with my next pick.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

Give me time and I'll grab a few RBs who can block but honestly, RB isn't that important for my Run & Shoot team so it's allowing me to focus on defense and other offensive positions.

2008 NBA Finals: Lakers vs. Celtics

The fact that the Celtics came back to tie the game and were within 3 points of tying it AGAIN at the end makes me think game 6 will either be another comeback win or a blow out. As A Happy Medium said, it wouldn't shock me if Pierce just puts the team on his shoulders and scores 45+ if Allen/Garnett start struggling.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

LB Rickey Jackson The Glory - 6x Pro Bowl Selection - 1 SB Ring The Stats - 1,173 tackles - 128 sacks - 40 forced fumbles & 29 fumble recoveries - 13.5 sacks in 1992 at age 34 - Converted to DE in 1994 at age 36 and in 1995 he had 9.5 sacks Probably not as celebrated as other players but he was a member of the Dome Patrol in New Orleans and not only would he be devastating in my 3-4 defense but he'd be able to make the big plays left and right like all my players on defense should be. He averaged 8.5 sacks per season and 3 forced fumbles a year. That now gives me 2 players who between them could get 6 FF a year and still kill the QB with a sack.

B on Forte. I think he has a chance at Rookie of the Year unless a LB blows up ala DeMeco Ryans last season. I currently have Forte at 1,123 yards with 8 TD. Very good year for a rookie RB.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

DE Chris Doleman The Glory - 8x Pro Bowl Selection - 6x All-Pro Selection - 1990's All Decade Team The Stats - 150.5 sacks - 44 forced fumbles & 24 fumble recoveries - His final 5 seasons (34-38 years old) he had 55 Sacks - Had 21 sacks in 1989 - Had 15 sacks at age 37 in 1998 I actually remember him more so in his latter seasons with Atlanta and San Francisco but I remember he was a solid sack artist and more importantly, another defender who can make the "big play" when counted upon as evidenced by his 44 forced fumbles. That's an average of 3 a season and given his longevity and skill even when old, he'll be a force regardless. My defense is being set up for takeaways, turnovers, and setting up good field position as a result.

    The NFL All-Time Draft.

Given the run on O-Line this round, I'm leaning that way for 1 of my picks but at the same time I'm also thinking of bolstering the D-Line to offset the heavy swing.

I also have to echo being against the idea but I'm also of the opinion that any team can make a waiver wire pick up at any time. Some of it is luck of course (i.e. Cueto) but there are plenty of moves that are made either through trades or free agent pick ups that yield a keeper or two for half the teams in the league. Like the 6 total and am undecided on the 3-4 last year with 2-3 new but not liking it, simply because it "penalizes" teams for keeping players. Odds are, most teams won't be keeping all 6 keepers from last year anyway (unless they are all uber studs) and I don't like forcing a team to "scrap" a 5th player just because they were kept the season before. As for me, I have 5 keepers in mind and I think 2-3 were "kept" from last year.
