Distance is one thing that can never be taken away from a kicker we already seen what happened to the supposed most accurate kicker in the league. If anybody does break the distance record in this era it should have a asterisk next to it stating what kind of turf it was played on and weather conditions. Then we should certainly asterisk Dempsey for having the goal posts at the front of the end zone rather than the back... and he kicked it in good weather conditions too (e.g. no rain or snow or howling winds). If anything, making a 60+ FG now is much harder because the kicker has to kick it an additional 4-5 yards just to reach the goal posts, let alone be gaurunteed to put it through.

Batman would be my O-Coordinator. Intelligent and able to quickly diagnose situations... or maybe he'd be the trainer since he has Alfred and all.

Soy is turning our children gay!

He is the founder/chairman of Open Church Ministries so I kinda get the feeling he might not like homosexuals. He also wrote two books, "MEGASHIFT: Igniting Spiritual Power" and "The Meaning of Life" so he's God too...

I think a lot of people are underestimating the Patriots. They've only allowed opponents to score more than 20 points in 3 games this season. They lost to Denver 17-7, Indianapolis 27-20, and Miami 21-0. Outside of the Miami game, they still kept themselves into it by at least two touchdowns. They beat Cincinnati 38-13, Minnesota 31-7, and Chicago 17-13 when the Bears were still seen as a juggernaut. The Patriots D ranks 8th in yards allowed, 3rd in rushing, 14th in passing, and 3rd in points allowed. While their offense has been a bit stagnant, they are still hovering around the 10th spot in the category of yards (total, rushing, and passing) and points scored. The fact that their defense has still been solid despite losing 5 defensive backs (including Harrison here) and 3 linebackers to IR is amazing. Brady's turnover abilities have been vastly overrated (It seems almost all of them came off juggled/tipped balls by the receivers). They also signed S Gus Scott back to their practice squad and he could have an impact for the secondary. Right now, both Wilfork and Watson could miss a couple weeks but should be healthy by the time the playoffs roll around.

    NFL Week 14

Given the success they've been having this year, I think the Saints would be insane to move Deuce. There are so many teams "adopting" the RBBC with a main RB and solid backup (New England, Chicago, San Diego, New Orleans, Dallas, Atlanta) that it's a lot easier for a team to keep both RBs healthy this way. Also the issue with Reggie is his ability to carry the ball 20-25 times a game. With Deuce there, he can still get his 20 touches but the defense also has to be aware of Deuce's ability to break a big one at anytime.

Who is the biggest homer on the sports forum?

There's an "ilk" with Cartman? I gotta say ilk is quite demeaning to the non-homerish Sox/Pats fans like me, ya know?

Man... maybe I should stick to picking games against division rivals seeing as how that's where I get all my success from.

This Miami D is doing their usual job of giving the Patriots fits... Brady fumbles but they still recovered, not comforting though.

Where's my Faith spin-off show? Anyway, I'll probably check out the comic like a year after it comes out depending on the reviews. I heard good things about Joss' series "Fray" but haven't checked any of those out yet (mainly due to price).

    Your Five Favorite Anything

Top 5 Favorite Nirvana Songs #1: About A Girl (Beatles meets the punkish metal of grunge). The first song on "Bleach" to highlight Kurt's ability to blend the punkish metal with the pop sentimentality. #2: Scentless Apprentice (Probably Kurt's most vitrol song singing wise and a very metalish feel). #3: Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle (Continues the earlier vitrol/metalish sound from the start of In Utero. Love Grohl's drums here too). #4: Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Cover but probably one of their most memorable songs, simply for the ending scream alone. It being acoustic made it even better and Kurt's voice lended an air of innocence until he just throws his voice out for the last minute.) #5: Breed (Nirvana at one of their most punkish moments).

    artists you don't get

David Bowie... I like some of his work but what am I missing that makes him so hyped? Or am I delusional that he has any hype?
  19. Just caught my first episode of "The Batman" and the episode was JTV (Season 2, Ep 8). I actually didn't hate it as much as I thought I would and found the VA for the Joker to actually be fun to listen to. Constantly changing his voice around to reflect his mood, etc. although there was a spell where his voice went deep and I kept waiting for him to go back to a lighter/more gleeful tone. Also Harley Quinn's VA is Hyden Walch (Starfire in the Teen Titans cartoons) and her debut episode is two episodes away. Looking forward to it, esp. with Paul Dini writing it. *is still gonna miss Arleen Sorkin though*

Interesting to see this... John Elway didn't crack the 58% completion rate until his 8th season (1990). From 1985 - 1989, he didn't even crack 56% completion of his passes. It wasn't until 1993, at age 32, that he finally took that leap forward into greatness as a passing QB. Prior to 1993 he had one season with 20+ TD (also had 23 INT that same year). Vick's thrown for 54.9%, 56.4%, and 55.3% in his first three full seasons (with 421, 321, and 387 attempts). Vick had 45 TD vs. 33 INT. That's 4.0% TD per attempt and 2.9% INT per attempt. John Elway in his first three seasons after his rookie season threw for 56.3%, 54.0%, and 55.6% (380, 605, and 504 attempts). He had 59 TD vs. 51 INT. That's 4.0% TD per attempt and 3.4% INT per attempt. 4th Season (Elway): 54.6% with 410 attempts and 19 TD vs. 12 INT. 4th Season (Vick on pace): 51.3% (likely to go up) with 411 attempts and 20 TD vs. 12 INT. So given Vick's "horrible" skills as a passing QB, maybe we shouldn't be so quick to pile up on him given the historical precedent of John Elway who was quite similar statistically and still managed to blossom.

New England/Miami should be the usual close, tightly contested slugfest. I say New England picks up the win barely 24-21 over the Dolphins.

    1. Tom Brady 2. Peyton Manning 3. Carson Palmer 4. Trent Green (consistently solid since 2002. Often forgotten in these kinds of talks) 5. Matt Hasselbeck 6. Drew Brees (needs a year or two more of good play for me) 7. Donovan McNabb (great when healthy but also has injury problems). 8. Brett Favre 9. David Carr (underperformer but look at his pass accuracy from 2004 - 2006. Only his lack of TDs hurts him). The guy has a 69.9% rate and 2,200 yards in 11 games this year. On pace for 3225 yards and 15 TD. His lack of weapons has hurt him a ton (Andre Johnson and who else? DD's been hurt all year) and oh yeah, only 7 INT. 10. Steve McNair Philip Rivers I need to see more than 1 year out of but he'll quickly be on my list if he continues to perform.

The WV OL who are Seniors according to ESPN.com are as follows: Dan Mozes: 6'4", 290 lbs. and Damien Crissey: 6'4", 280 lbs. Stephen Maw (I recognize the name, is he your Center?) is a Junior but I don't know if he's a redshirt and thus eligible for the 2007 Draft.
