    Divisional Playoffs Prediction Thread

Indianapolis Colts vs Top 10 Defenses(According to NFL.com, by PPGA) - Week 1 vs New England Patriots(2nd): Lost 27-24 - Week 15 vs Baltimore Ravens(6th): Won 20-10 - Week 17 vs Denver Broncos(9th): Lost 33-14 - AFC Wild Card vs Denver Broncos(9th): Won 49-24 Record: 2-2 So, out of their whole schedule, the Colts faced only 3 teams that were in the Top 10 in terms of points per game allowed. In those games, they averaged 27 points. Take out the AFC WC game and it becomes 19. Indianapolis Colts vs Top 10 offenses(ranked by PPG) - Week 8 vs Kansas City Chiefs(2nd): Lost 45-35 - Week 1 vs New England Patriots(4th): Lost 27-24 - Week 3 vs Green Bay Packers(5th): Won 45-31 - Week 16 vs San Diego Chargers(3rd): Won 34-31 - Week 9 vs Minnesota Vikings(6th): Won 31-28 - Week 17 vs Denver Broncos(9th): Lost 33-14 - AFC Wild Card vs Denver Broncos(9th): Won 49-24 Record: 4-3 In those games where they faced the top 10 offenses by PPG, they averaged 31 points allowed a game. Take out that AFC WC game and it becomes 33 points a game. Sure, their offense is seemingly unstoppable but they really did poorly against very good defenses. Look at their schedule and they faced such "tough" defenses as Oakland, Houston, Kansas City, and Green Bay. When their defense gets put up against a tough offense, they cave and allow a heckuva lot of points. Sure the Colts won in the WC game by scoring 49 points but they still allowed 24.

The Orange Bowl Thread, Take 2

I'd call the 1993 Florida State Seminoles better than the 1999 team. That offense scored 536 points and won the Sugar Bowl over Nebraska. Also the defense only allowed 129 points all year with the highest being Notre Dame(who won 31-24, causing FSU to finish the year 12-1).

Thanks Chris. ACC should be pretty stacked with the addition of Boston College, giving them 5 teams that ranked in the Top 25.

The Orange Bowl Thread, Take 2

Can anybody tell me the moves that'll happen next year? I know Boston College is leaving the Big East, are they going to the ACC? Also Louisville is leaving for the Big East but are any other teams moving around beside those 2?

A-10 surpasses non-BCS leagues in FB ratings

I'm sure they could handle the other great teams in the conference like Tulane and TCU who went 5-6. Don't forget Army who went a sterling 2-9. They could probably hang with Cincinnati and Southern Miss too. The A 10 had 4 teams that finished 10-3, 11-3, 12-2, and 9-4 and that's all within the same conference.

    Some names forgoing Senior Year

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1958307 http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1958060 Personally, I'm pretty excited about Alex Smith coming out early. He can throw the ball very well and can also make plays with his feet. RB Vaughn Morency should help aid a deep RB class that also has the likes of J.J. Arrington(I believe, correct me if I'm wrong), Darren Sproles out of Kansas State, and Bobby Purify out of Colorado.

With the NFL Regular Season Over

WR Taylor Stubblefield out of Purdue could be a solid 2nd Round pick for a team in need like a Baltimore or Philadelphia.

    Shaun Alexander

As far as I know, the TD was scored with like 4:17 left in the game or thereabouts. After the TD dive, Atlanta killed the clock with their drive and ended up almost tying the game anyways.

    2005 NFL Schedule

New England vs Atlanta....now that will be a fun game to watch. I always wanted to see how the Pats D would try to contain Vick.

    The Sugar Bowl Thread

I think the final score will be Auburn 42, Virginia Tech 24. Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown will be too much to stop and Jason Campbell is an underrated QB.

    The Wildcard Weekend Thread

Honestly, I think Denver could surprise. Not only do they have a very solid passing attack with Plummer to Lelie, Smith, and Putzier but people seem to be forgetting that they have a power back in Droughns and a home run threat in Tatum Bell. With the speed that Tatum has, the Broncos can easily run on the Colts and wear down the clock keeping Manning off the field. Their defense can also be solid when it wants to be. My prediction: Broncos 27, Colts 24 Other predictions... Chargers 21, Jets 13 Rams 35, Seahawks 17 Packers 27, Vikings 24

The Daily Bowl Discussion Thread: January 1st

USC O-Line - Has allowed Matt Leinart to be sacked 23 times. - RB LenDale White has a 5.2 YPA and RB Reggie Bush has a 6.1 YPA. Oklahoma O-Line - Has allowed Jason White to be sacked 7 times. - RB Adrian Peterson has a 5.9 YPA and RB Kejuan Jones has a 4.0 YPA. USC Defense - Has 48 sacks - Has 9 fumble recoveries - Has 19 interceptions Oklahoma Defense - Has 38 sacks - Has 14 fumble recoveries - Has 8 interceptions Conclusion: It seems to me that Oklahoma has the superior pass protection though USC may have slightly better run blocking. As far as defense, both teams can pressure the quarterback and cause fumbles but USC gets the edge for the amount of interceptions they had. Granted, White hasn't thrown many but USC could still be dangerous in that regard. My prediction: USC 31, Oklahoma 28 in a close battle.

TD run by Cedric Houston to pretty much start nailing down the coffin lid on Texas A&M who've struggled on offense and made mistakes all over.

Texas A&M just shot themselves in the foot. A muffed punt leads to a Tennessee recovery.

The Daily Bowl Discussion Thread: January 1st

Tech was better than everyone thought and Cal was worse. Plain and simple. It's obvious the Pac 10 isn't as good as everyone thinks and the Big XII is better than everyone thought. Especially the South which some people here are saying is overrated. Of course, pending today and tomorrow's games but so far I have the Big XII South at 1-1 and the Pac 10 at 2-1(Oregon State and Arizona State both won). Also last year both the Pac 10 and Big XII South went 2-3 in their respective bowl games. Just to offer a view using numbers I'm a Big East fan but only follow Boston College so I'll probably start cheering the ACC or wherever they are headed next season.

    Anyone up for Fantasy Football?

I'm of the opinion that we slash the two teams and add another bench spot, thus extending the regular draft to six rounds rather than five. This way, we'd have 14 teams and 14 roster spots. That means that there would be 196 players used on a roster spot total whereas originally it was 208 players. Only 12 players get added to free agency and with the added bench spot, it makes drafting even more vital to grab that key late round sleeper.

    Anyone up for Fantasy Football?

The rookie draft would likely be late April, right after the real NFL draft or early to mid March.
