While it is shocking, it doesn't seem that unprecented. The following running backs retired at age 30 or earlier and were quite accomplished before they retired. Some were more accomplished then others. Quite a few surprises in here too. Alan Ameche - 27 Jamal Anderson - 29(Ran for 1,000+ yards in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2000) Greg Bell - 28(Ran for 1,000+ yards in 1984, 1988 and 1989) Gary Brown - 30(Ran for 1,000+ yards in 1993 and 1998) Clarence Davis - 29 Terrell Davis - 29 Earl Campbell - 30 Willie Ellison - 29(Ran for 1,000 yards in 1971) Chuck Foreman - 30(Ran for 1,000+ yards in 1975, 1976 and 1977) Barry Foster - 26(Ran for 1,690 yards in 1992) Mike Garrett - 29(Ran for 1,000+ yards in 1967 and 1972) Rodney Hampton - 28(Ran for 1,000+ yards 5 straight seasons) Gale Sayers - 28(Ran for 1,000+ yards in 1966 and 1969) Barry Sanders - 30 Robert Smith - 28

Also as a Red Sox fan, Varitek often walks with the hit batsmen to 1st base and as far as I can recollect, he's never come to blows with them. Upon seeing the fisticuffs, I'd also put the blame on A-Rod and he got plunked in the freaking elbow. Not like he got nailed in the head or anything really serious like that.

Double post, kinda cool concept for a show too.

Just saw it(bless Tivo) and god damn did Leary do a great job acting and making this show captivating. I must say, this'll be going in there with my must watch shows(along with The Shield and Dead Like Me).

Hey STR, I don't like the idea of a league vote as it could cause an owner to vote against a trade out of personal spite or to be funny. I'm of the belief that the commish should look at a trade and unless he thinks it's extremely unfair(maybe get reasons from both owners prior to making a decision on the trade to assess the thinking behind making the deal) he should let it go through. Honestly, a trade that might seem unfair to an owner may end up having been fair in the end, like let's say Owner A is looking to deal Steve Smith for Marcus Robinson and everybody thinks it's unfair because Smith is far better then Robinson. Then we look at the end results and it shows that Robinson outperformed Smith, so now you're looking at an owner who got screwed by no fault of his own because he saw something that nobody else saw.

Here's my take... Donovan McNabb - Has thrown for 21 TD's in 2000 and 25 TD's in 2001 and has seen his TD numbers decline to 17 and 16. The addition of TO will likely get him to around the 21-24 mark again. His INT's are good as he generally keeps them around 13, never throwing more then 13 and throwing less then 10 once(6 in 2002). His rushing yards make him a great asset as he can run for 420+ easy with the number of carries he gives himself(lowest # of attempts was 63 in 2002). McNabb's ranking amongst QB's according to the pro-football-reference fantasy scoring. 2000 = 5th 2001 = 5th 2002 = 12th 2003 = 13th Matt Hasselbeck - Has steadily improved since 2001, raising his YPA from 6.3 to 7.3 to 7.5 last season. Threw for 15 TD's in 2002 and boosted that to 26 in 2003. Had a better completion % then McNabb with 2 straight 61%+ seasons which makes him a better bet to throw for more yards. Isn't much of a running threat but is capable of getting you 35+ carries and 140 yards with 1 TD or 2. With the offense he's in, can easily throw for 3,500+ in any given year. He only played in 14 games in 2002 but projecting his yards to a full 16 games means he would've thrown for 3,514 yards and 17 TD's which aren't bad at all and probably could have seen him slide to around the 13 or 12 spot amongst QB's. His rankings for the past 2 seasons 2002 = 17th 2003 = 6th My opinion: You can't really go wrong with keeping either guy but I'd keep Hasselbeck as I'm a big believer in completion % which usually results in more passing yards and more TD's through the air.

I'm loving my team considering how much I paid for most of them. I spent $64 on Green, $20 on Taylor(who I project as the #10 RB) and $11 on Kevin Jones. Everybody else was below $7 I believe. QB's: Jake Plummer, Brad Johnson RB's: Ahman Green, Fred Taylor, Kevin Jones WR's: Charles Rogers, Rod Smith, Marcus Robinson, Reggie Williams and somebody else that I can't remember TE's: Alge Crumpler and Boo Williams K's: Adam Vinatieri Def: Kansas City Chiefs(Can we say Dante Hall)

Jeez, just cause the Sox don't sport a perfect record doesn't mean we need to can the guy. The Sox are 51-43(.543%). That W% is bested by only 4 other teams in the whole American League, 3 of which lead their division. Only 8 teams in all of Major League Baseball sport a better W% then the Boston Red Sox. Is he the best manager ever? Of course not and probably mediocre at best however to think that the Red Sox are "mediocre" as a team is laughable and that's coming from a Sox fan.

Just joined the auction league on the auction page....question? I know we're doing the auction on the auctioneer site, now how does that spill over to the yahoo league? Will we get a listing of the bid money we have left for FA's, WW, etc. or what? NOTE: Remember to check that the auction works for you people! Working for me now that I DLed that java thing

I suck at it too but managed to get my RB Musa Smith at the time from an 82-83 by pure luck. If you have the X-Box, you can press the X button and train certain players which helps(I remember it's weight training, can't remember if it's drills too)

I'm pretty much cool with tomorrow and anyday this weekend. Anytime on the weekend would work best for me and 4 PM ET or later tomorrow.

I face 3 Top 5 teams in the 1st 5 weeks, ouch. I'm also worried about weeks 10 and 12. I'm expecting to go 6-7 maybe just looking at this schedule. Of course I hope I can do better, heh.

I honestly don't think anybody on the Red Sox is "untouchable"... - Manny was placed on waivers in the off-season, don't forget. - Pedro's contract is running out and as far as I know the Sox haven't come to a deal yet. - Nomar's contract is also running it and some could say he's almost good as gone. Also was considered in a trade to the ChiSox for Magglio. Only one who "may" be untouchable is Curt Schilling(I'd put my money more on Keith Foulke though since the Sox have never had a "dominant" closer ala Rivera levels) You could also argue that David Ortiz is another untouchable candidate due to the love that he gets from the organization as well.

Playing on all-pro with the Patriots I've been pretty bad heh. Managed to beat the Jags 23-21 after being down 14-0 but after that I've lost 24-3 to the Indianapolis Colts and 33-3 to the Buffalo Bills. Any helpful tips on defending the pass because that's the one thing that's killing me.

I'm cool basically any day

I agree with Flik, set it to $1,500 and let the money fly!...okay, maybe not that high
-
I managed to get in with little problems(aside from the PW deal) so it seems cool to me.

Yahoo I believe.... click Join Custom League and just C + P both things(had an error at first for the pw just typing it in so I C + P'd it and it worked)

Whooo...nabbed Travis Taylor in the trade sending Jim Kleinsasser to Flik. I figure based on projecting Clark's stats over a 16 game schedule last year that he would've had 64 points vs Klein's 65.5 so I saw Kleinsasser more expendable and he's an upgrade for Flik over Becht. I see Taylor doing similar to his 2002 numbers where he had 830+ yards receiving and 6 TD's, especially now that he takes over Marcus Robinson's role as the deep field threat.

Our division sucks...every team has more losses then wins, I mean what the hell's going on there?

Called my EB earlier, said tomorrow morning. Damn the wait
