Does anyone else remember those vampire themed popsicles? They were shaped more like creamsicles, though. The outside was purple popsicle and inside was red slightly sweeter and more liquid "blood" popsicle?

Misleading... he's been talking about the business as a whole. I'm not some big Mero supporter or whatever, but if someone can show me where he specifically singles out only the WWE, I'd like to see it. If it did happen then I must've missed it. But otherwise, every clip on YouTube that I've seen has him talking about the business as a whole and he only mentions Vince/WWE because they're on a big enough stage to institute some sort of change.
-
i know what your saying, but we have seen his list enough times, its beaten into our heads everytime he appears on TV Maybe it needs to be beaten into some people's heads because obviously it's not getting through. Let me also point out that he's had two lists. The first one was personal to him - 25 wrestlers he's been in the ring with who are dead now. The newer list that's more populated is of all the wrestler casualties over the past while.
-
But he's acting as if they all died from steroid usage, which just ain't the case. No he's not. The media is. He's bringing this list out because there is a PROBLEM in Pro Wrestling regardless of steroids. He hasn't once said that the list is of steriod only deaths.

First, both Blackman and Mero were active wrestlers upto the early/mid-2000's. That's not exactly "over 10 years." Second, I'm really finding it hard to believe that just because the last time that these guys wrestled - that because it wasn't with the WWE, that their opinions are irrelevant. That's just ridiculous. It's like saying that former NHL players can't comment on the sport as a whole just because they don't play with the NHL anymore. Third, I also cannot believe that people can't understand the simple point that Mero isn't just talking about WWE. He's talking about all of wrestling. The reason he keeps bringing up Vince McMahon, again, is because Vince owns the "biggest show" in town and he has the platform to make a change for the betterment of all wrestlers regardless of where they work. Why is this such a hard concept to understand - is anyone actually listening to the dialogue when they watch all of these YouTube clips? Not once does Mero blame WWE - he constantly says there is a problem in "professional wrestling." Watch the end of that video that Celtic Jobber posted with Mero. It's the show hosts that normally spin this into an attack on WWE. But yet he's "pushing his own agenda" and "last 15 minutes of fame" - bullshit. These guys are asked to be on the show. Abrams even says they're constantly calling WWE guys, but to no avail. I really doubt Mero and Blackman are loitering the studios of these shows just itching to get on TV again. If we're talking about agendas, how about we look at guys like Demott, Brian Lawler, Ted DiBiase?

I'd like to see him as a heel. Grow some facial hair. Give him a "talker" manager (someone in the vein of Heyman when he was leading around Lesnar).

I'm not apt to believe people who have obvious axes to grind...........The truth is likely in the middle but for someone who hasn't set foot in a locker room or ring in a decade to try to shed light on what's happening right now to me is really stupid. Just like Terri Runnells all these people that haven't been relevant in 10 years think they have something to add now. C'mon Mecca. Haven't been relevant? Relevant to who? Just because these wrestlers haven't been in the spotlight recently, doesn't mean they're not relevant. Guys like Mero, Blackman, et al have been in the business a lot longer than Matt Hardy and Ken Kennedy. (and don't give me some shit about how it's changed sooo much either) And of course they have something to add now! Are you a total nitwit? When were they supposed to add it? When the industry was getting NO mainstream press at all? Yeah, then they're surely be offered interviews on primetime, right? Holy fuck some people here really have no idea do they? Good "prop myself up as smarter than you" type of post.........I give it about a 9. In all reality no one really knows, you don't know, I don't know.....There's really no need to start flipping out on Kennedy or Hardy or myself for saying something opposite of you. You are acting like Mero and the like know exactly what they are talking about when in reality you don't know if that's true or not either..... So like I said good sensational post there but not much to it.........you've been watching to much cable news. Great way to skirt the issue with a non-response, btw. I give it a 2.5. I'm sure you follow around the WWE and get into the locker room so you know exactly what is going on also........Amuses me for a poster on a board to be like "I know you don't" to something that no one really knows about other than the guys who are there. Look - I'm not going to get into a back and forth with you on this, buddy. Listen to yourself and re-read what I posted the first time. I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong or that the anti-wwe is right and the pro-wwe is wrong.. what I'm saying is, is that it's stupid for anyone (you included) to call these people like Mero, etc. not relevant to wrestling just because they haven't been on national tv in a while.. and it's stupid to blast them for coming out now when there's an opportunity.. because they couldn't come out before where there was no interest in covering what wrestlers have to say on any given subject. Are you getting it yet? Or to you want to come back with some more replies that have nothing to do with what I'm saying and that I won't bother responding to..... And while I'm on this, I haven't heard Mero BLAME this on the WWE once. It's usually the show that spins it to sound that way. He's saying that Vince - because he owns the biggest show in town - has an opportunity to stand up and change the business for the betterment of the talent. I don't see him harping on the WWE. Or their testing. He even says that he can't really comment on the wellness policy. His comments are about his friends dying and that something needs to change in this business. But yet he's a goof according to Kennedy....

So I was watching Hard Knocks tonight - the main feature. That was filmed in 2004? I have to say that Benoit sure aged a hell of a lot in those 2-3 years. If you had seen the new biopics that WWE.com had taken of him right after he was drafted to ECW you'd know what I mean. I can't find them now, obviously, but he looked fucking grizzled and haggard all to hell, whereas he looks pretty young and fresh in the 2004 DVD feature. Just something I'm throwing out there...

By "his list" he means guys he's personally wrestled with who are dead.

Well, it certainly does blend...

Not my problem. Shouldn't be my problem. Shouldn't effect whether or not I get to enjoy something in it's original form. I'm from the school of thought that a parent should be actively parenting their children and what they consume via the media, and if they can't do that then why the hell should the rest of us have to suffer? What's next? Editing down R-Rated DVDs to PG-13 because kids MIGHT see them? Give me a break..

I agree with Downhome on this. Kennedy does come off as a bit of a douche in this posting. I get a serious 14 year old internet girl vibe from him - "OMG YOU HAVEN'T WRESTLED IN WWE FOR FIVE YEARS SO SHUT UP, KTHX!"
-
Very true. I believe "e-tards" is a very good descriptor.
-
I know I shouldn't laugh, but I get a kick at the way Grace acts like even a midcard wrestler is very famous. "You all know Johnny Grunge. Very famous wrestler." I mean, probably famous to us on this board yes, but the genpub? Doubt it. Anyway, they say that Grunge also had an enlarged heart. This is from HGH or steroids? Grunge was on HGH & Steroids? Dude.. I'm not saying it's not true.. but he wasn't exactly in shape for any of his career. Was he just taking the 'roids and not working out? Wierd..
-
Exactly Massito. Exactly.
-
He's right up there with Mero and Debra for media-whoring. YEAH! God forbid he speak out and show up on these programs when he's invited to. I mean, he's only a legend in the business and has had tons of experience with the entire steroid subject. Yeah, but he's media-whoring and pushing his own agenda like Mero and Debra? Give me a break dude.

Alright maybe there is no need for something in between AO & M, but you can't deny that there's a stigma attached to the AO rating that suggests it's porngraphy. I can't think of any other reason why retailers wouldn't stock it and companies in turn wouldn't license it. Why not just revise M to 18+ - because really, this one year difference between two ratings is PURE bullshit - and just get rid of AO unless something IS pornographic - of course they could just use X for that like everyone else, then.
-
I wonder how long it takes them to rename Cross Face chicken wings. I mean, sure it's obvious they're referencing Backlunds move.. but the other Crossface has been in the media a lot these days and there's no doubt got to be some kind of marketing faux pas with using that naming for a menu item, heh.
-
The content descriptors are vague and the average consumer isn't familiar enough with the ESRBs tendencies enough to know what they mean. Like I said, the ESRB needs to take steps to clarify these ratings, and renaming the AO rating - or introducing another level before that - would be a good start.

Whatever. These kids will have to learn one way or another that talking shit about people in direct authority over you does not fly when it's in a public forum. If I were to go on MySpace and publically post about how much I hate my boss and how he's a fucking asshole and someone reported it back to him - I'd fully expect to be reprimanded for it, or at least called out on it. -
Well, I think it's a two way street. Obviously the companies and retailers but also the ESRB needs to clarify that the AO rating is NOT xxx porn - which is what a lot of ignorant people (ie: mainly consumers) associate the wording "adults only" with - which is probably why the companies won't license it and why the reatilers won't sell it.. Nevermind the fact that the entire rating system is flawed and out-dated anyway and could use a complete overhaul... The AO rating either needs a new name, or there needs to be another level between M & AO that is reserved for this type of scenario.

He could be.. but it's generally accepted that he's alien/from another dimension. I think the "sea" notion comes into play because he's really a giant octopus with a "human" like body and wings, and in the story Call of Cthulhu a lot the encounter takes place in the ocean. Cthuhu is also said to be entombed in R'lyeh which is at the bottom of the Pacific. I should also note that I will be happy even if this monster is inspired by Cthulhu. Sure it'll be fucking awesome if they say it's him, etc. but if it's not, and it's something Lovecraftian in it's own right, I'll still be cool with it.
