  1. Brian Christopher doesn't look like he's on the juice to me... he just looks fat and greasy...
  2. I hope so. After Vince completely destroyed kayfabe last night (which is what he should have done), how can they continue to have ridiculous storylines making up the most of their shows? They've destroyed kayfabe a bunch of times. Doesn't change anything I'm not getting my hopes up for a change..but have they ever gone so far as to say something like "Tonight's STORYLINE was supposed to be.." Christ man, find me someone over the age of 10 (or even younger) who doesn't know wrestling is fixed and that storylines don't exist. Kayfabe is essentially dead and has been for a while, and the only reason they keep it up is to maintain some sort of differentiation between the on-screen characters and the real life people playing those characters.
  3. If a worker ever brings up a union they will totally be black balled and the workers will not stand together.......that guy will be fired and there will be 20 guys who line up to take his spot. Agreed, the business is too cutthroat and the workers are too self-interested for a union to work for any length of time. Is Congress able to force a union upon them?
  4. Raw was a tribute show. If you mean a memorial show with wrestlers doing matches in tribute to Benoit? Highly unlikely. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancel the ECW/Smackdown tapings tonight instead of going ahead with the rumored "no angles" shows.
  5. I have, genius. I still don't think it justifies killing your family. Wow. It's amazing that you managed to quote my post, but missed the entire point of the first sentence you cut out. I just said. It's not a justification but a possible reason. Again, look up the differences. I'm done with you. Piss off already.
  6. Unless you have a mental illness, it would seem. It's not a justification, but it's a possible REASON. There is a fucking difference or are you too busy attempting to be witty that you fail to realize that? I hope that you never have to deal with a family member or a loved one who suffers from a severe mental illness. Or maybe if you did, you'd realize it wasn't so fucking cut and dry as to why they do the things they do.
  7. I think he was giving it as an example as to why Benoit could've snapped and killed his wife. Cheating could be an excuse to him. Killing your kid? No justifiable excuse, even to a murderer, so there has to be some sort of mental deviation going on here. The problem with this place is that people take everything said too literally. How about thinking about context before pulling the trigger?
  8. Damn CNN.com and not showing live feeds to non-US IP addresses.
  9. What a sick bastard. Yes, with sick being the key word here. As in, sick in the head. I'm having a hard time believing that with all of the good things that everyone who knew him had to say that there wasn't some sort of underlying mental breakdown involved here that caused him to go on this rampage and resort to taking the life of even his own son. Oh.my.god. Some people are really going to justify this no matter what unfolds, aren't they? You're an idiot. I'm not justifying anything. Read my other post. If you've got more snide "apologist" comments, then take it to NHB, fuckdouche. EDIT: Read what Mecca says about understanding mental illness. If that's not worth something - understanding WHY someone does something like this - then what I'm trying to say has gone over your head, which wouldn't be too big of a surprise.
  10. Sick in the head, of course. One can try to justify him killing his wife by saying he was being cheated on, was attacked or whatever. However, NOTHING, NOTHING that could possibly happen to a human being is enough to justify them killing their son. NOTHING. Mental breakdown or whatever. No excuse. It doesn't matter. True enough. There is no justification for murder. But until you study the human brain, and how it works, and what causes it to breakdown.. then you'll never really understand what could lead someone to do that.. and not even really know why they're doing it themselves. I have a childhood friend who about 10 years ago began to suffer from schizophrenia... we had entire conversations that he doesn't even recall. If he wasn't on medication, he'd hear voices and those voices would tell him to do terrible things. Very surreal. Very much IMPOSSIBLE to understand if you're not him. This is not me being an apologist or whatever. This is me saying not to be so sure that Benoit was some sick degenerate fuck who was plotting and scheming to kill his wife and kid all along. This kind of thing can happen to the best of people, even people who don't have a violent bone in their body.

  12. It's pretty buried on TSN.ca. But http://www.citynews.ca/ has it as the top story of their sport section. Ironically enough, there's a double murder suicide in the city here as well that's top news on the site.
  13. Because a psychotic break doesn't really apply in a case like this. He was on the road already and gearing up for a PPV where he'd be leading the ECW brand. He'd have to pre-meditate something like this to know that he was going to skip the show(s), go back home, kill the wife and then kill the son the next day. WWE.com: "Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Texas, and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency." What I gather from that was that he was already off the road.
  14. This is important. I firmly believe that if Benoit killed his family it was NOT the Benoit we all admired. The people who suffer these breaks and commit these sorts of acts usually aren't their normal selves.. far from it. A lot of people just assume they get really angry, do the killing, and then are suddenly back to normal. Far from the truth. Lots of people who commit these acts and don't commit suicide never even return to their normal state of mind.
  15. Why does it have to be pre-meditated?
  16. The reports say her body was found in an office. From what I've read on the type of personality that suffers a psychotic break and then commits this crime - murdering their children - is that they don't really see it as something vindictive they're doing. Rather they see it as sending their child to a better place and protecting them in a way. So I doubt, in that mindset, the last thing that Benoit wanted his son to see was his mothers corpse. But, who knows for sure.
  17. Well it isn't wrestling that would drive someone to do this. Maybe I'm wrong to presume so, but Chris Benoit's life as a wrestler led him to this ending. This happens more often than not in all walks of life. See MrRant's post right below yours.
  18. That doesn't sound good one bit. About speculating, what can be done to NOT speculate? When someone and their family are found dead along with "tools of death" people can only wonder what happened. There is a difference between speculating (in a sense of wonder) and condemning someone before you know all of the facts.
  19. You're going to get flamed for this post.........I tend to agree with you for the most part but I've seen it all over the net... The self righteous can't help but attack anyone who doesn't think he's a murdering asshole right now. Getting flamed at TSM is of little significance to me.
  20. Didn't know about this until I was watching the morning news. What a surreal occurance to wrap your mind around. Really. I'm very disappointed, though, that Benoit's guilty before proven innocent.. The autopsy hasn't even concluded yet.. there are no results.. the crucifiers are all basing their bashings on pure speculation, which is just pathetically typical of the IWC. Either way, no matter what happened over this past weekend to the Benoit family, it's not our place to pass judgement on Chris - or any of them for that matter.

    Manhunt 2 Receives AO Rating

I just can't take AndrewTS comments on Rockstar game seriously, because they're always negative. Besides Manhunt, what R* games have I "unfairly" bashed? I've actually defended GTA on more than one occasion. And if I haven't been unfairly bashing GTA, what the hell are you talking about? GTA series and Manhunt are the only games of note they've made, assuming we're talking about R* North, and not R* Vancouver who have only made Bully. You've always been a Manhunt apologist. I wasn't trying to start anything with that comment - I'm just pointing out that everytime I see you mention anything about a Rockstar game - it's usually negative. Manhunt, IMO, is the only game you've unfairly bashed - but I've yet to witness a positive comment from you about any Rockstar games and what you'd do to improve them. I'm not claming that I read every post in this forum, but I'm just saying I haven't seen it and what I have seen has always been negative. Give me some specific examples of how the levels are dull and how the AI sucks... because I thought they were both very passable and enjoyable. You'd make a noise and the hunters would run after you - if they give up, they go back to walking the grounds. I don't see how complicated it has to be to please you. The lighting is low because that's the tone of the game. The game has a brightness feature in it, and the last time I checked, so do most televisions. Not that hard to fix if it really bothers you that much. Slowly killing people... isn't that what stealth is? Avoiding them. Figuring out their pattern. Sneaking up on them. Killing them. Sounds about right to me. Did you play through the entire game, btw? Because the latter half of the game is mostly shooting and sniping and rarely gives you a chance to use the stealth killing as often as you do in the first half of the game. What's hideous to look at? That's a pretty broad statement without any real reasoning being given. The graphics? The rendering? The static effect that overlays the screen? You've said it's a piece of shit many many many many times, and you offer "reasons" for thinking this way - but you never really give expanations as to how you've come to those conclusions.

    Manhunt 2 Receives AO Rating

I just can't take AndrewTS comments on Rockstar game seriously, because they're always negative. I don't even like the stealth genre (with the exception of Tenchu Wrath of Heaven) but I found Manhunt to be a fun breath of fresh air. I don't see what was so horrible about the gameplay that makes it a piece of shit.

    Manhunt 2 Receives AO Rating

The PS2 version was also rated AO, and it doesn't have Wiimote controls, so... Anyway, I've said it before, I have the right to play this game in the way it was meant to be played. I like the ultraviolence/splatter genre - in any medium. I thought the first game was great, sue me. I like to pick up and play and not have to invest hours and hours into a game - because I don't have that kind of time. Fuck man, if Clive Barker can make movies like Hellraiser and write books like the Books of Blood - all of which kids can EASILY get their hands on - then Rockstar should be able to make Manhunt 2 without this sort of obstructionist bullshit. Hell, most Friday the 13th movies are much more gruesome than the Manhunt series. This kind of shit is nothing new, it's just that we once again have a "watchdog group" telling us what we can and can't view/play/read just because parents can't seem to take responsibility for what their children are consuming.

1408 (John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson)

It was a good flick, IMO. It almost seemed like something that would fit with the Silent Hill world. I wonder if King has ever considered plotting a survival horror videogame storyline...

    Manhunt 2 Receives AO Rating

From IGN.com.. Gee thanks. I'm so glad that they're working toward making sure that games intended for adults have appropriate content for childen. *sigh* Fucking mutants...
