I don't see the connection between Keane and the Doves. Doves more of a melodic trippy feeling to it, whereas Keane is pure British adult-comtempo/pop music. Anyway, I've seen the Doves live twice and they were amazing both times. Elbow is another band worth checking out for their trippy, laid-back jazz/funk inspired stylings.

I actually agree with that. Sting would be a good champion regardless of the naysayers, IMO. And Christian as a heel > Christian as a boring face.
-
I'm definitely interested to see how that turns out.

Why the hell would anyone teach creationism in history class, except to to point to it as an idea that belongs on the scrap heap of history with fascism, divine right of kings, and the New Coke.

That's classic! I love the song at the end, lmao.

As for the future, well now you're only speculating and acting like it's fact. Given how Jeff has kept himself in the main event scene for way too long, to the point even the most loyal TNA fans began turning against him, and shows no sign of taking himself out, it's a fair conclusion that Jeff will have many more reigns as TNA/NWA Champion, simply because Jeff makes the final calls and TNA has long been shown to be his playground. Whenever anyone with perceived name value comes in, who do they either team with or feud against? After Christian's first NWA Title defense, whose issue took the spotlight after the match? Stings? Also, I don't really see Christian being much more of a success as champion to be honest. His title reign has been forgetable and boring for the most part. Even his ring work is pretty lackluster these days - IMO of course. I'm pointing this out because if Jarrett's title reign was un-needed then Christian's is just as.

Wow, the JJHate is really almost as annoying as the HHHate, y'know? Rhino hasn't amounted to "anything" because he recently just resigned with the company. AS IF they're going to do something as stupid as push him when they didn't even know what his intentions were. As for the future, well now you're only speculating and acting like it's fact.

True enough. Another reason for the "just tape ECW on their house show tours" argument.
-
Holy fuck I really hope that's true. Even though I don't get any channel that carries the show, I want it to be good and watchable.
-
How does this need it's own thread?
-
Wierd, Francine is back on the page.

Quick Q on two DVDs. Do the Road Warriors and ECW Bloodsport DVD's have any merit? Enough to purchase them and not just rent and copy them?

He's been in NJPW before, and AJPW. He was also a mainstay of Michinoku Pro Wrestling and I've seen him wrestle Hayabusa in FMW before, as well. He's also used the Hakushi gimmick in Japan quite a bit and even got Muta to tag up with him as "Kokushi" where they both painted the fake kanji tattoos all over themselves. He's always been one of my favourites.

I should also note that regardless of how much a flop the ECW TV Show is/was (I was one of the ones who wanted to wait before bashing the concept) that their t-shirts are pretty rad. Today marks the first time that I have owned a wrestling t-shirt (Sandman) with full intent to WEAR it, since the old school green Jake the Snake one that I had when I was a kid.

Or couldn't they at least record a generic instrumental version of the song, kind of similar to what they've done with Tommy Dreamer's Man In the Box and Taz's War Machine themes. This way, the audience can still sing the words to Enter Sandman even though there are no vocals on the song itself? I'm surprised they didn't do that to begin with. They even did it for RVD when he first came in and his generic WWE theme kind of sounded like Walk.
-
That is kinda neat. And for the people that keep bitching about things like this for WWE shirts, note that: 1)There's nothing written on the back 2)If you wore it, only wrestling fans would know it's a wrestling shirt. That said, it still says "Rated R Superstar" and that has to be one of the gheyest things I've ever heard/read/seen.

I would've put Val & the Godfather together as "Supply and Demand" Also: Both Axl and Francine have been removed from the Wrestler bios page at ECW.com... yet for some reason Stevie Richards and Little Guido (Nunzio is still listed as a Smackdown Superstar) are still absent from the page, as is any mention of RVD being ECW & WWE champion in his bio. I swear to god WWE.com has the laziest web team ever.

I like the idea of it having it's own taping and only touring in the Northeast. It doesn't need to tour nationally to BE a national show. Also, the Metallica thing would be awesome. It's too bad they wanted $10-13 mil a year for it. I wonder what the Motorhead version would cost?

I dunno about anyone else, but I for one am quite excited to see Kevin Fertig being given a second chance by WWE. I think his Mordecai character would've been more suited for a sci-fi channel role, but I'm not too bothered by vampire gimmicks. I hope he can make good on this and get over his stage fright. I'm not bothered by the vampire gimmick, either. I mean, he could just be some guy who thinks he's a vampire a la Gangrel. Though, the one thing I'm not sold on are the teeth. They're so going to fly out during his first match. At least with Gangrel they were permanent dental work.

Which is the better buy: iBook or Powerbook? I haven't owned a Mac since the old iMac boom a few years back, so I'm kind of out of the loop. I can't find much difference in terms of specs between an iBook and a Powerbook so I was wondering what the fundamental difference (aside form casing) is between the two and which is the better buy (I'm looking at a 12" model for portability but will need something powerful since I work in various design sectors). Thanks!
-
Well, at least the zombie played his gimmick well. I like how he kept walking around after the ref during Sandman's entrance.
-
How the fuck Gerwirtz (or HOWEVER his name is spelled) still has ANY kind of job is beyond me.
-
I agree. You can't really hear them unless you have them at about 85% volume. That said, I think they probably guess you're going to be using headphones most of the time. Either way, crappy speakers indeed!

A comment that doesn't warrant a thread: Goldust released for the millionth time... http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/goldustreleased
