Actually, I wouldn't say that Shaun is the most original film ever or anything myself. I don't see how the script and characters were unlike anything Romero has ever done, as it was a bit different, but all the major character elements are there. It's just that Shaun has a more comedic approach, when Romero goes toward a strong social commentary (which Shaun actually has)...... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Also, if there were no Romero films, there would be no Shaun of the Dead.

Voting for round 1 is closed. Will post round 2 brackets this evening around 12AM EST. Also lovecraft231, your post up above made no sense - if you want to PM me your votes before midnight Eastern, please do so.

Holy crap, I can't believe people are still arguing about this......

Those cut-scenes you speak of aren't really cut-scenes. At least not in HCTP. They're camera angles and you can turn them off.

Seriously. How many fucking threads do we need on tripe like this? Can't we just pin a "generic-wwe-bitching" thread?

Wow, just looking at photos of the event on WWE.com - I haven't seen Meanie since he showed up back in ECW all trimmed down with Jasmine St. Claire. It looks like he gained a lot of the fat back.
-
Yeah, there weren't as many nominations as I had hoped - so I guess it turned out to be more of a battle of the popular zombie movies that most have seen. I would have liked to have seen Shock Waves in there, but it didn't make the cut.

What an ironic twist of fate! [ no seriously, it was all random - my two favourites square off too - Shaun vs Day ] Also, my votes: 1. Cemetery Man [definitely have to go with Dellamorte here..] 2. Dawn of the Dead [Remake] 3. Return of the Living Dead III 4. Night of the Living Dead [Original] 5. Night of the Living Dead [Remake] 6. Land of the Dead 7. Shaun of the Dead 8. Dawn of the Dead [Original]

IIRC, La Resistance did when they did their double chokeslam thinger over the top rope and onto a table...

RE: HHH - what is the legit reason for that, anyway?

I keep thinking that SummerSlam is so far away. I can't believe it's already July!

Since there's no union and these guys are "independent contractors", they can be fired at any time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Really? Wouldn't the appropriate people have to be around at "Titan Towers" to sign the papers and all that jazz? As a side note - I seem to imagine working at the WWE offices being exactly like Office Space...

I realize and agree with that - I was merely posting that link so you could see WHY he hasn't been canned.

I wonder if there's a deadline for this sort of thing, or if it could go on all day. I'm guessing it all has to happen during regular business hours, etc.

Brock goes to far so Long rewards him with a title match? I guess it makes sense by WWE-standards.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.........

... I am in total shock over this one, and that reasoning as well. Charlie Haas is way more capable of a wrestler than most of their main event. Also, what did they expect the crowd to do when they don't bother to give him any kind of a charater? If the writting team doesn't give Benjamin a charater or something to do pretty soon he'll be next by this logic. Also, if Haas isn't worth what they're paying him, why hasn't Mark henry been cut? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...dpost&p=1924736

Damn, Suzuki added to the list. This one doesn't effect me as I can honestly say that I've never seen the guy in a match.
-
I'm more or less suprised since he falls into Vince's huge/muscular/freak mold that he used to love to push no matter what. I mean, how did A-Train last as long as he did?
-
Maybe I'm missing something about the world of wrestling, then. Can they just fire these people for any or no reason? Or do they have to have legitimate reasons for firing, you know, like in the real world?
-
Either way, she's still getting her pay-off. It's not like being a wrestler escort was a stable gig to begin with, and she never did very much while she was there.
-
If the women attached to the tits have actual talent and can work a match - sure.
-
Yes, but it's his opinion that the women were a 'lock' - and that doesn't mean much in a situation like this. If he's not just stating an opinion, then whose to say that a 'lock' doesn't mean that either of the women approached WWE first?
-
That's because you need to get laid, Bob. Meltzers opinion means shit to me.
