Eh. I'm just saying. I'm not going to sit here and pick apart how they got into the mall. I liked the movie enough to not want to LOOK for flaws like that. Is it so hard to use your imagination? Every mall has entrances in the rear that the general public don't use, and those doors are usually metal. Maybe they found one that was left open in the confusion.

Shatter proof. One of the guys said it when they first entered the mall. But I guess that eliminated the train of thought that they broke a glass door to get in. So I'm going with that they either picked a lock, or shot it right off. And the Zombies couldn't use the door they came in....because? Why? I swear, Nightcrawler was in this damn movie somewhere, he just HAD to be. The director and writer REALLY had no clue how they got into the mall, they just said, "OK! THEY ARE IN THE MALL! ACCEPT IT AND MOVE ON!" So, I'll just have to accept the fact they found a phantom door that zombies couldn't enter into a store that had a shatter-proof glass window that could be broken with a chair. Ok good, one plot hole filled...sorta. Who knows man. Malls have more than one entrance, you know. ;p

True, the original story has become way drawn out and convoluted, but as it says in the preview, this is a different storyline.. So it almost sounds like a Leon spin-off. I'm more interested in the gameplay most of all, to be honest - as well as the fully 3D/free-roaming environments! But if the storyline turns out to be good, then hey, thumbs up for Capcom for finally switching things up.

I'm guessing the getting-into-the-mall part was another thing that the director left up to the audience to figure out on their own. I'm thinking it's either as simple as a door being left open [let's face it, the security guards didn't come off as very competent ;p] or maybe they broke in? Picked the lock? Who knows.. ;p

Agreed. Return of the Living Dead had that, but I didn't mind so much since that one was DEFINITELY intended to heavy be on the comedic side. Zombie feasting on a paramedic: "Send more paramedics!" I wonder if this version of Dawn will warrant it's own original sequel? Kind of like how the Ring is getting it's own sequel.. [ie: has nothing to do with the Japanese Ringu 2] I guess it all depends on it's staying power at the BO next week.

There is a plot. If you mean about HOW the zombies came about. Well, not really in that sense. There is a small mention in one segment, but I think that the director left it up to the audience to use their imagination, which is perfectly acceptable from my vantagepoint. The MAIN plot, however, isn't about why there are zombies, but how those left alive are going to survive and escape from them.

I've been thinking of that a lot lately too. Like, ways to explain fast vs slow. Fast = just "turned" - therefore rigormortis hasn't set in yet so they can move just like they did when they were alive, but only for a limited time as they begin to decay more. Slow = "aged" zombies.. ie: they've been zombies longer, rigormortis has set in, the limbs are atrophied and it's harder for them to move.

I think it all depends on the maturity [regardless of their age] of the child involved.

I'm crossing my fingers for RE2 as well. But, I guess it's because I've been such a huge zombie genre fan since the day I can remember that I get so "ranty" on these subjects. Sorry if it sounded like I'm pissed, because I'm not. Have you seen anything in regards to the Australian film "Undead" ? We had a screening up here on Thursday in only one theatre, but I didn't find out about it until it was too late. I heard it was pretty sick.
