King of the Ring tournament to return
dubq replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
I love the idea of a one night tournament, the way it used to be before it became a big PPV thing. Also I call MVP for winner of this. -
I'm also wondering how Angle is a 12 time World Champion? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Angle#Ch...accomplishments 2 Time TNA 1 Time "WCW" 4 Time WWE 1 Time World Heavyweight

LMAO his stomach has it's own physics. This is like the new generation of Mai Shiranui only gross.

Keiji Muto to challenge Nakamura for IWGP title
dubq replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
I have said it before because I've seen it first hand, many times, and I'm not just talking about when he comes out. Most of the people reacting to him or calling out "Tana" are women. I still stand by my line of thinking that the only reason Tanahashi is in the spot he's in today is because he got stabbed by his ex girlfriend and NJPW made a huge deal about it and decided to run with the sympathy "back from death" push. I do like that you mention Cena though because that's exactly how I see him over here, right down to the sloppy ringwork. I mean sure he can improve and I hope he does because he's a real nice dude who really does love the business. But as far as "OMG WHY ISN'T HE THE ACE RIGHT NOOOOWWWWW???" - that ain't a bandwagon I'm jumping on any time soon. -
Not so much anymore, but there was a stretch in the early 2000's where Inoki was shoving MMA fighters down peoples throats for a while in NJ. See: Bob Sapp & Kazuyuki Fujita both getting runs with the Heavyweight title.. Anyway, that comment about all NJ & AJ matches being worked MMA formats since 1995 is way off base. It hasn't been that way in a while.

wrestlinggamers.com Isn't this pretty old? The reason I ask (I remember reading it somewhere a long time ago) is because I'm hoping it's just some joke or rumor that someone's put out there..

Shit I forgot all about that. What was the last game you could do that in?

Honestly, I think the only reason that the MMA influenece was there (aside from the Fighters as trainers) was the whole cage thing. They wanted it to seem like a hybrid of UFC/TNA. I thought it was fine, personally. I loved that the Main Event was also completely devoid of any overdone storylines/gimmicks aside from the necessary Angle/Joe rivalry. Even Karen's presence and departure before the match didn't fuck with how serious this ME was supposed to be. I thought the entire PPV was worth the $30 for sure. There were a few matches I could've done without (BG/Kip, thank god it was short). X-Scape was the usual fun X-Div stuff, though I was really hoping for Curry Man to come out with the title. Queen of the Cage was nice and short and wasn't offensive at all. I really like Roxxi and that finisher is sweet. BG/Kip - already commented on that. Cuffed in the Cage was fun too and it got Super Eric over with me. I was hating the gimmick (admittedly I'd only seen backstage interviews) but the ending was great. Loved the fact that Eric and Rellik were wearing the same coloured wristtape, leading to Reign cuffing Rellik by mistake. Kaz is great too. I wish they had an upper-midcard title for him to go after. Mixed Tag - this was alright. The ending was telegraphed, as this usually happens in these matches. Either that or the male face finishes off the male heel and let's the woman get the pin. Either way I'm interested to see where Roode goes next. Booker T, meh. I mean it's inevitable that he's going to get the title one day, but he's so stale to me doing his same old same old. I wish there was a way we could get King Booker back. Lethal Lockdown was very reminiscent of War Games. I'd never seen a Lethal Lockdown match before. The ending came out of nowhere though. I was expecting one of the captains to get the fall. Does this mean Rhino is getting a bigger push? Main event - comments above. Loved it. Congrats to Joe, he fucking deserves this title and hopefully it's a long run. I'm kind of sick of people picking on his weight. Clearly some people don't understand that you don't have to be ripped to be in shape. I know a few of big guys (not unlike Joe's physique) who are in great cardiovascular shape. That said, Kurt did look smaller. There was a remarkable difference between him in the ME and some of the older videos they were running throughout the show. I'm glad, and hope this means that he is taking better care of himself.

Keiji Muto to challenge Nakamura for IWGP title
dubq replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
I should note that during any show I've ever been to, Tanahashi only seems to get the "Jeff Hardy" pop. -
Wow thank god that match was short. Now can thee guys please retire from wrestling?
-
Wow this interviewer is channeling Rose McGowan..
-
Indeed, I think we're going to be surprised with this one. Everyone is too quick to jump on the "OMG it's gonna be WrestleMania the Arcade Game all over again!!" bandwagon, IMO. What people have to remember is that that game was made 13 years ago, and we also have to remember that Vince & Co probably had their hands all over the type of game that was created. Vince probably saw the popularity of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat and wanted a fighting game just like those.
-
Wow something tells me that this movie is going to reach the "Super Mario Brothers" level of stupidity.
-
Looks solid. So good to hear Conroy's voice in the Batman role again!

Keiji Muto to challenge Nakamura for IWGP title
dubq replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
Why couldn't they wait one month longer to have this match. -
You're losing it Ripper. Anyone who tries to justify this by complaining about how she failed to fight back needs to remember the whole part where she received a fucking concussion. ..and if you don't get the concussion reference, go look up the side effects of suffering one and maybe then you'll get it. These stupid c*nts deserve whatever they get.

1.) The RR and NWO matches were classic. However, they should've done the retirement thing for Wrestlemania. Using it for NWO cheapened it at Mania. 2.) The Commissioner run was fun. The constant bickering with Edge and Christian in the office was hilarious. 3.) The Backlash 2004 match was worth Foley's comeback. 4.) Absolutely. The Wrestlemania 22 match with Edge was my favorite match of the PPV. I didn't care much for One Night Stand II, but the Flair feud was great. 5.) I dislike Mick Foley for showing up just for the sake of showing up and not really contributing anything, but I wouldn't mind Foley coming back to work matches with new talent or physically feuding with McMahon because as somebody said, it'll be good because Foley will put his heart and soul into it. Actually, it was Kurt Angle who said that. Was it really? Was it around the time that Foley was Commish? Maybe that's why I'm associating them, lol.
-
I agree - this was a great era, IMO. I think one of the lines was something where Foley said "You bet your sweet assess..." and Edge remarked to Christian how sick it was that Foley thought they had sweet asses. Classic shit right there. I also enjoyed Foley's heel run in 2006, at least, what I saw of it.
-
Voodoo Drop or something like that? I thought it looked pretty sick, as well. Reminds me of the first time I saw Victoria use the Widow's Peak.
-
I wonder how the get away with using the Strong Bad character? Isn't he directly ripped off from DataEast's Tag Team Wrestling game? Or something like that?

Not everyone (let alone a teenage girl) is as adept at thinking and reacting on the spot like that, especially in situations like that. It's easy to say "why didn't she do this" when you're not the one getting pounded on.
