    Cloverfield

Yah I only get part of it when I try to view it.

    Grindhouse

I know of lots of fans of that genre who love those same movies that you say "you don't see anyone calling those films great or good" about. What, does something have to be universally popular and accepted by the masses to be a great film in your eyes? Does it have to worthy of some pretentious award like an Oscar to be a great film? Does it need to be Citizen Kane or The Notebook or The Ten Commandments something? And as far as inane chatter goes.. That means nothing. See Coffee & Cigarettes. That entire movie is inane chatter, but it was still great.

Fuck I want to see this movie again - RIGHT NOW!

    Grindhouse

Whatever. I'm no cock-monkey for Taratino but I'm pretty sure the fact that he was greenlit for this gives him free pass to make any kind of film he wants - just like any other filmmaker out there in the same position. I'm also pretty sure that you don't understand the concept or the genre that Death Proof was built from - otherwise you'd understand that those movies were also filled with horrible acting, ridiculous dialogue, etc. You don't HAVE to like it - but calling it a fucking disgrace has to be the biggest misuse of hyperbole I've seen on this board in quite some time.

I haven't heard anything yet. Doesn't it come out on.. uh, Tuesday??

    Cloverfield

I should note that I had a good group in the theatre.. like not WITH me, but everyone else in the theatre was great. They clapped and hooted for the Iron Man trailer and they also clapped when Cloverfield finished up. Lots of positive reactions in my showing.

    Grindhouse

It'd probably be very limited release. You'd only get the diehards at that too. They did something similar in a few theatres with all 3 LOTR movies when the 3rd one came out.

    Grindhouse

I would love to watch the Japanese dub of Planet Terror. I may get this as it's a pretty sweet looking set, and the shit we've got over here is total ass. What ever happened to Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, btw?

If that's not what you're getting at, then why do you say that?

Feb 15th in theatres for Diary.

    Spoiler Tags In

Yeah, I'd say that spoiler tags should be used for at least a week after a flick has come out.
  14. Never had it happen to me, and I hope it never does. Aside from my work email, my gmail is my primary personal email account and has been since 2004. Did you email support about it?

Awesome - I was hoping someone would have taped that! Didn't think to play it backwards though, cool!

George Romero talks "Diary of the Dead"

Here's what Romero says about Land in that interview (I'm typing this out fast so I apologize for any missed typos): Then they go on to talk about the movie. There's one part, though, where they reference the jerkoffs who made Day 2 and Creepshow 3.. and apparently those same douchebags want to make a sequel to Knightriders... That really pisses me off about those fucks at Taurus. It's like they're following Romero's fucking resume and trying to ride his talent, his fucking art, to the bank. Good thing their flicks are all total fucking pieces of shit and probably make next to nothing. Speaking of profits - Romero goes on to say that Dawn is the only story he gets royalties from. Everything else was owned by Laurel Entertainment - which he co-ran with Richard Rubenstein. Rubenstein got the rights when they split and apparently this dude sold everything off as a part of some package deal. *sigh*

    Global Impact

Wait, who are we talking about? Hardcore wrestling fans or casual fans? Chances are hardcore fans will watch wrestling regardless of what kind of ring it takes place in. Casual fans or new fans don't know much about it, so why would something new turn them off? And are you really going to try to pass off something like "hokey" as a valid argument regarding WRESTLING? C'mon...

So, if it's so awkward for them they can a] learn to work in it.. or b] get a job somewhere else?

    Cloverfield

Saw it. LOVED IT. Will probably see it at least two more times with other groups of friends. Fucking hell that was an awesome ride of a movie! Also - re: cellphones -

    OAO Anime/Manga Thread

See I'd be interested in this if it was a CGI movie with those actors as the voices. Movies like Dragonball and Justice League should never be made into live action as the product is pretty much guaranteed to be total ass.

SNK Arcade Classics: Vol 1 for PS2 and PSP

Holy fuck I am all over this!

    Global Impact

I honestly don't see the gripe with the six sided ring. It just seems like the only thing that people who complain about it can say is that it's "gimmicky" - well no shit. What isn't gimmicky in fucking wrestling??
