    An open question

THANK YOU. "The Undertaker put over Brock" is one of my favourite WWE myths, right up there with "The Ultimate Warrior died" and "Hogan just wants to do the right thing." Anything that UT ever gave to Brock he got back, and then some. He pinned Brock in a handicap match when it was UT vs Brock and Bigshow, while heel GM Heyman was changing the rules in his favor. Taker doesn't even squash individual wrestlers, but tag teams and whole heel factions. Meanwhile, Brock has to sell for Bob Holly. And they wonder why Brock got fed up and left.
  2. This is not going to end well. I give it a month before we hear a report of an injury because Job Holly wanted to teach someone a lesson.

JBL bashes Internet Writer Wade Keller

Vince's tirade was about one thing: poor widdle victim Vince McMahon. Not about the war or the political views, and no, no even about the troops. It was woe as me Vince McMahon. It's the media's fault the XFL didn't catch... I mean, the war is being portrayed so negatively. He just latched his "persecution" on to something he thought the troops would cheer. Stephanie did the same thing (much more blatantly and tactlessly) post 9/11. It's in their blood. And wise ol' man of the world Bradshaw is a complete naif if he thinks he's seen the real dirty parts of the war. Any visiting entertainers would be guarded like the president over there. If something goes wrong and one of them gets killed, there would be a huge backlash against the war.

Yah, so what will HBK do....

And they'll make Steamboat come out and cut a promo saying that HHH/HBK is the Flair/Steamboat of our time, only much better. [sobs]

Here's another problem that's going to crop up, I guarantee: Hassan will get the shit kicked out of him by everybody, including JR, retired wrestlers doing desk jobs in the back, the Divas, Shane McMahon, and quite possibly Gene Okerlund, just for kicks. When you run an anti-American angle, the crowd gets riled up, they don't want to see the heels get away with it. WWE hasn't made a heel foreigner (which is what Hassan is essentially) who was actually a serious threat for a very long time. Look at what chumps La Resistance are. The Unamericans were even worse. Hell, two of them job to Supreme Green Randy Orton in a handicap match. They'll book Hassan the same way to "send the crowd home happy." He'll only win under the screwiest of circumstances. Making him look like a complete joke all around.
  6. They also fired Gail Kim, Nidia and Jazz, and have been hiring random bimbos to stand around and badly recite two or three lines. I'm hoping that they offer Dennis Rodman huge money to appear in WWE next.

    Someone explain the NO DQ...

The lack of a DQ didn't bother me so much as this: For the past 600 matches, whenever someone is in danger of pinning HHH, an Evolution member runs in. Last night was match 601, and what happened? Flair ran in! Well bugger me! Never saw that coming! CAN A FACE PLEASE PREPARE FOR AN EVOLUTION RUN-IN? Not to mention there were four guys sitting at ringside that could have intercepted Flair, but didn't. Snitsky demonstrated that he was about 400 times smarter than the entire roster when he had that pipe in the baby carriage, anticipating that Kane would attack him...

Hassan should be a face. Have him go in as a guy who wants to compete in the wrestling ring, and accomplish as much as he can. Then, get a heel to ask if he's an Arab. "Arab-American, yes," he answers. So it's the HEEL that starts making an issue of his background. This angle would actually work better for JBL. Hassan cuts promos saying that he is not ashamed of his heritage, is a patriotic American (and encourages USA chants), but he's not here to make some political statement, he just wants to wrestle. It's the heel that's making it political. This has the potential to create an interesting face, and present an Arab-American as an interesting character who just happens to have Arabian background, it's not his sole reason for being. All WWE is doing right now is presenting an evil foreigner who can't even remember to mention that he's not a foreigner. It's going over people's heads, and probably pissing off some ethnic groups as well.

Yah, so what will HBK do....

Seriously. Isn't elimination chamber gimmicky enough without a special referee?
  10. What bothers me about TNA is their willingness to snap up WWE has beens. Nothing screams "wannabe" like picking up the guys WWE doesn't want anymore. "Hi, my name is Kevin Nash. I fuck over wrestling companies for a living. I want a few million dollar to wrestle about five minutes each year, and spend the rest on my broken down ass eating Cheetos. I know approximately two wrestling moves, and 2000 ways to worm my way to the top at the expense of others. Allegedly I could cut funny promos in WWE about 40 years ago." "You worked for WWE? You're hired!"

    Triple H on Conan O'Brien

As much as he dismisses the "12 year olds" I really think it deeply bothers him that he's not as loved as respected as Rock, Austin, or Hogan. Everything he does is seen as an imitation at best.

But it's booked so ambiguously! It's dead even! Anybody could win!

Brock Lesnar Ready To Make WWE Return?

If they bring Lesnar back, they should immediately have him tear through the roster, or punk out somebody big. I mean like HHH or the Undertaker. And none of this not feeling it bullshit. Those guys should immediately take a beating, and then run scared. This company needs a new strong presence very badly.

    Let's talk about Trish

But, that's why I think her heel role actually works. She says things about Lita, then proves it, and that makes her character more believeable. I appreciate this approach much more than the usual "I don't like you for no reason" routine. It makes sense as character motivation, absolutely. But we're supposed to boo her, and cheer Lita...when it's impossible to justify Lita's actions. That's Trish's problem. She's the top female heel. She's also the top female face. She needs a real cool face female to work against. Not Lita.

    Let's talk about Trish

Trish makes a good heel, but look who the lead face is... Lita. In my mind, she came off looking like the biggest idiot of all during the whole Snitsky/Kane pregnancy thing. A good heel needs a good face to play off of. And Trish's criticisms of Lita are dead on. Heels aren't supposed to be rational or right all the time. As for a female in Evolution, I think that should have gone to Gail Kim. Her submission stuff was working, and if Evo had treated her as the future of women's wrestling (as opposed to a piece of ass or a valet), it would raised the importance of the women's division.

Will HHH win the battle royale tonight

I could see this happening though. It would be great for HHH's bloated ego to take a belt from his hero. He hasn't done this yet, has he? I know he's defended a belt against Flair, but he hasn't actually taken one from him, has he? And does everyone remember that touching "retirement" they had for Flair awhile back where HHH gave him the belt and they carried him on their shoulders? Makes me puke to think of it now.
  18. Flair's glory days were with promotions that don't exist anymore. The one promotion that is left standing rewrites history as it pleases. And to the majority of fans, WWE IS wrestling. Flair will be remembered as HHH's flunky, but "the old wrestling fans really liked him for some reason."

Will HHH win the battle royale tonight

I believe he's going to retain the title somehow. Even though all logic and booking necessity says he should lose it here. Imagine how intense the battle royale would be if he were to be elminated first. Then every guy in there knows he's got a shot at being a champion. That's way more interesting than any other battle royale stip I can think of. But HHH will have the belt by the end of the night. And it WILL bury the roster. I don't care how he cheats or whatever, it will make the other guys look bad. At least one of them should have thought of a way to counter what he was doing.

Holly better get fired after tonight

Another thing, I don't buy this "Smarks will always defend their heroes and piss on the guys they hate line." If it had been Chris Benoit, I'd be saying the same thing. It's unprofessional and dangerous to go beating up people in the wrestling ring. I'd prefer the offended take that person to court, but I accept that we're not talking about a bunch of veteranarians here. So if you're going to settle it with your fists, do it on a level playing field.

Holly better get fired after tonight

Exactly. He basically went after him when his back was turned, and not expecting it.

Holly better get fired after tonight

He may have deserved a beating, but that wasn't the way to go about it. And I wanted Holly canned long before this, so I am not apologizing.

Holly better get fired after tonight

If anything, this will just make Holly more bitter, so he'll really give to the next guy he faces.

    Ricky Steamboat Backstage At RAW

HHH is a big Flair fan, and one of Flair's most famous feuds was against Steamboat. He'll probably get him out there to do something. If they'll send fat-assed Slaughter out there, they'll get Steamboat on camera somehow.

    The Monday Night Raw Discussion.

Didn't Orton offer HHH a choice though? Either the Rumble or face Orton? He could choose to face Orton and go over, which would be a little more believable and tolerable.
