Vince McMahon Pushing Again For Bret Hart's Return
jester replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm sorry, I don't want to see Bret Hart at WM. It will just lead to Montreal reference #563, 231, immediately followed by lots of jokes about Canadian fans not being able to "get over" Montreal. Stay gone Bret. WWE would handle your return with all the skill of the Invasion and Katie Vick. -
I want to see the ring carts brought back.

So What Did You Think Of The Contract Singing?
jester replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
This would be great. And they will never allow it. Benoit beat HHH clean after already being worn out from HBK? HHH would just as soon let Hurricane beat him in a HIAC match. -
Next year they're going to rename it Entertainmentmania.
-
I'm just glad that they're sticking to their plan to keep the brands separate except for major, high-calibre feuds like this one.
-
Even cancer jobbed out to him. Wouldn't you have an ego? Yeah, but it wasn't a clean win.
-
By all accounts the guy had an ego that made Hogan look humble, but WWE really did handle him poorly. The extended McMahon/Gowan feud was just painful. Book him right, and have Bradshaw sodomize him to keep him respectful, and they could have had a nice package to sell the mainstream media. Oh well. Fuck it.

Well what do you know...Coach WASN'T awful on RAW
jester replied to Youth N Asia's topic in The WWE Folder
Amen. Coach was actually acting like a proper heel announcer. During the Evolution/Christian-Jericho match, Flair started to tap out. Coach said that he didn't see anything! Not THAT is how a heel commentator acts. If something is so blatant that you can't spin it positively towards the heel, you DENY it even happened. So Lawler. Which one of you has been in the business all your life? Are you sure it's not Coach? -
Triple H doesn't look fat to me.What do everyonelse think? I noticed. He has a gut and an extra chin.
-
I think the video packages they are putting together for this angle are AWESOME. I am a little annoyed that they are hitting during matches with guys like Goldberg, but eh.
-
No kidding! Does BISCHOFF have a plan? You mean they'd rather build the fucking storyline around "legal action" between two GMs than a championship match between two wrestlers? Seriously, scrap all the belts. WWE doesn't give a fuck about them. The real spots that matter are the GM and announcing positions. People feud over them so much more than those shitty old belts. Sorry if I sound bitter. Bad day.

If one of Austin's reasons for leaving is that they just wanted to give away Lesnar/Austin for free, he's right, that is completely stupid. As in, WCW level stupid. But what pisses me off is now this match is not going to happen at all. Austin can't wrestle, so he has no rub to give. Hell, he won't even job during his promos and let someone else look good next to him. One day the same will happen to Taker and HHH. They'll be so cripplied that they'll have a new excuse not to job. This promotion has got to start showing young blood beating old blood. Cleanly. Consistently.

<vince> That's not true. People will love a roster full of generic OVW Hosses. </vince>

The way you do Hogan/Austin: Vince announces he's found a way to get rid of Hogan/Austin, two guys that have given him no end of problems over the years--have them fight each other in a loser retires match. With some kind of hardcore stip so they don't actually have to wrestle. (yeah, Hogan was only a problem to Vince as of a few months before WMXIX, but work with me here) The emotion in the match is that two guys who actually respect each other (though they probably don't in real life) have to regretfully kick the shit out of each other. After a bit of blading and brutalizing, the two respect each other too much to continue, so they both deliberately pass on chances to pin each other. Vince demands a finish, so they deliberately count themselves out, staring each other down all the while. Double count out finish, because face it, politically neither guy will want to job. Vince is livid and declares that since they both lost, they are both retired forever, blah blah blah, until next week when JR, Foley, or somebody comes up with some retarded excuse to bring them back to squash Jericho or Christian, as usual.

Does Finlay have the same record of injuring people though?

Ok, so it seems to me Austin's job is this: 1. Ride a cool ATV down to the ring. 2. Get into the ring, blather on about other people's feuds 3. Drink beer 4. Stunner random heels and Bischoff's lackeys, or anybody not higher up the organization than him 5. Avoid being in anything vaguely resembling a wrestling match. 6. Ride the ATV out. So my question is this--How long will it take before the fans start to turn on him? And I don't mean see him as a heel and give him good heel heat, but to just get sick of him? Will it ever happen? We know that Austin can't wrestle a full schedule, and will probably be reserved for very simple "big" matches at events like WM. But do the marks know Austin can't wrestle? They've been told he's fired, retired, suspended, etc. so many times they can't possibly believe it. Will they eventually get sick of his schtick? Two Raws ago I thought I saw an "Austion go home" sign in the crowd. Not exactly a huge backlash. But the fans got sick of Hogan eventually, will the same happen to Austin? Or will they always love seeing the same old crap from him?

Didn't Brock & Heyman beat the Hardys in a tag match, with Heyman pinning one of them? I do remember the Hardys going over in a handicap match by DQ. IIRC, Brock's first loss was a DQ to one of the Hardy boys. That was just after the Whacky Flight From Hell where Brock and Curt Hennig got into it. Not too long after that, Brock fought Bubba and actually had to sell for him, and I think Bubba even got a phantom pin on Brock--ie. it would have been a three count if the ref hadn't been bumped. I've got no proof, but I think they were trying to deflate Brock's ego without seriously screwing up his push.

Uhm, Bradshaw, one of the reasons American troops are in Iraq is to support the Iraqis, just like Sean Penn. Since those pesky Weapons O' Mass Destruction never showed up, isn't the party line that they wanted to eliminate a dictator that was opressing his own people? Bradshaw doesn't like people who support the Iraqis. Therefore he is against American troops. TRAITOR!

I didn't hear them pop, but when HHH went off on Austin, I thought "He kinda has a point" and I think the crowd did too.
-
I say let Jeff Hardy back in. Scott Hall too. They can form a tagteam together called "The NCTP"* and take on the Dudleys and Evolution. *NCTP = "No Condition To Perform"

I agree. Austin must have some input, if only it's being able to nix what they give him. Remember those reports that Austin was really happy about the angle they were going to use for his return. The SHERRIFF AUSTIN angle?!? If Austin really thought that this was good stuff, he must be as senile as Vince. But now I'm getting off topic. Regardless of the stories he's given, he can't wrestle. Will the fans ever pick up on this and lose patience with him? BPS says it will take a long time, and I think he's right.
-
I remember that. But that's part of my question. Even if the fans do remember it, they've been trained to believe "never again" is about two months, if that. So they probably fully expect him to have a match. How long before they get annoyed that he doesn't, and they realize he's just there to blab?
-
The Shane McMahon Factor. Uggh. I think JMA may have hit on it perfectly here. Hulk Hogan uses the same tactics these days.
-
As Fook said, they let HHH beat Booker last year. And that wasn't just a case of Heel vs. Face, that was a case of "Heel uses heavy racist overtones against a Face who is black." I think WWE looks at the Raw belt as inferior, so it won't be the main event. And they'll be far more likely to let Triple cHin pin whoever he faces.
-
You realize that means they feed each and every cruiser to him.
