Yeah, I think Bill has been quoted as saying (though I've yet to find the source) that he didn't want to go the cliched sitcom route with JD and Elliot, and that the writing room was almost 50-50 about which way to go. And really, after 4 seasons of their admitting what a trainwreck of a couple they are, it wouldn't make much sense. Unless they pulled something out like how they had "matured" as doctors and people since their intern days. For awhile I would've been okay with it, because I couldn't stand her season 4 boyfriend or Keith last season. But this season they've managed to make Keith likable without shoving him or their relationship down our throats, so if they stay together and the core cast remains a big happy family then I'll be fine with the show ending.

It's not like The OC is the first show to have actors older than the part. Jay Baruchel from Undeclared is 24 now but could still convincingly play a high schooler. I guess some people will hate on anything "mainstream" or popular with the youngins.

Great stuff tonight. I loved Cox's shot at Dane Cook and Janitor's mural, especially. The "House" bits were neat. Plus, Keith and Lisa got hit in the head with a clipboard. So when Kim comes back she'll be, what, 6 months pregnant? At least we won't be seeing another birth.

I just bought a ticket to see Joshua Radin and Schuyler Fisk (and Brett Dennen, whom I'm not familiar with) in Charlottesville on the 27th, for a mere $8. I'm super excited since acoustic has grown on me in the past few months.

I know the NBC preview has been wrong before, but I thought Kim said the job offer was in Washington.

So what movies will you be going to see in 2007?

Knocked Up, because Seth Rogen in the lead role of an Apatow movie has all sorts of incredible possibilities. -

Youtube is an amazing source for catching up on old episode moments. "Hooch is craaazy" clips from season 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k4j9Z2jHws One of my favorite JD/Janitor moments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V0X2QH77Ks The Todd at his finest:

I tried it, and it's horrible. It's supposedly a cherry flavor, but you wouldn't know from the fucking burn as it goes down your throat. I guess they really do want to simulate the experience. It's near-painful. Not even worth it, because despite claiming to be 3.5 Red Bulls, I didn't really feel any difference. Unless my caffeine tolerance is that insanely high.

Oh, how could I forget "Savin' Me" by Nickelback and "Lips of an Angel" by crappy generic rock band that sounds like Nickelback.

working in a gym where it's all top 40 all the time allows me to make a list this year. "Call Me When You're Sober" - Evanescence "Show Me What You Got" - Jay-Z "Too Little Too Late" - JoJo "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" - Panic "Buttons" and "SOS" are wayyy too catchy for their own good.

To continue discussion (or continue talking to myself) until January 4th, what is everyone's overall favorite season? I used to think Season 1 or 2 had it for being fresh and original, but after a recent re-viewing I love 3 the most. The crew FINALLY decided what they wanted with the J.D./Elliot relationship and I'm glad they made the right choice and went against the Ross/Rachel grain (which led to a great Friends reference by Janitor). Plus, it doesn't hurt that it has some of the best (and THE best) episodes, "My Screw-Up," "My Butterfly," the Michael J. Fox arc, and final three episodes, "My Fault," "My Self-Examination," and "My Best Friend's Wedding." 4 is probably the overall weakest, but in all 120 and whatever episodes I haven't seen a real extended run of dull.

January 4th. New episodes all around in that block.

It's that time of year. What are your favorites, least favorites, surprises, etc.? I don't think you can go wrong with Christmas rap. "Christmas in Hollis," "Santa Claus is Comin' Straight to the Ghetto," "Merry Motherfuckin' Christmas," the quality is endless. Electric stuff from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is also epic and amazing. The Christmas album I probably listen to the most is When My Heart Finds Christmas by Harry Connick, Jr., even if I can't stand some of the arrangements and the sudden burst of sound that happens in like every song. Can't go wrong with any of the Muppet Christmas albums, either.

Okay. I thought we were getting a little behind schedule on the routine "make fun of e-feds" thread. Thank you, Imarkout4eldandy, for keeping us up to date.

This was a great episode because for the first time in awhile it felt like all of the main characters were doing something, as opposed to some of last season's episodes where someone like Kelso or Cox would just have a few jokes thrown in just to give their characters lines. Great to see Cabbage back. Todd being obsessed with breast milk was probably too easy of a gag to pull. I'm interested to see where they go with Kim, since I figured she wouldn't become a regular character or anything. Anyway, I think next week is "His Story 4," from Kelso's perspective.

Loved loved loved it, of course. Beside what's already been mentioned, Kevin's concerned look when Toby forlornly massaged his robe and Dwight's Benihana advice on how to cook the goose were both tremendous.

Please do Angle/Joe at Final Resolution. And keep the PPV in Orlando. I would love to see them fight live, I don't care how shitty the rest of the card is.

Some threads lose their value over time. That was not one of them. Everything from Texas Small Arms' avatar quote saying "Beauty is a curse on the world" to Mole admitting he got the idea for the Love Box from Family Circus. Perfection.
