The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
Hank Kingsley replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
I just watched "Dead End" again, and I can't believe that episode wasn't nominated for the tournament. It's great. Lindsay's song = awesome and the chemistry between Angel and Lindsay is just so cool. -
I'm partial to spinning.

"Mandy" by Barry Manilow.

"U Got a Problem?" by Ludacris. Definitely one of the most bizarre/entertaining rap songs I've ever heard. Before that, it was "Stuck in the Middle" by Stealers Wheel

David Boreanaz has a god-awful Irish accent anytime you see flashbacks on "Angel" James Marsters & Alexis Denisof have great British accents though, considering they're both American. It's weird hearing them talk normally.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Okay, I finally (finally!) got my "Origin" script in the mail from vipfanclubs.com. I'm a little disappointed, because 1) for $6 normal shipping, you think they'd get it to you quicker than a week. 2) it came in the regular mail, so it was bent and whatnot, so the pages are a little crinkled. Besides that, this is really cool. I've only read 10 pages so far, and I've seen one piece of dialogue that was cut out (a conversation between Harmony & Angel right before Connor says "Hey Dad!") -

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

I'm curious as to who wrote what for the finale. I don't think Joss wrote the last scene; Spike used the "wishes are horses" line, which Bell also wrote for his last episode, "The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco". Although I'm pretty sure Joss did write the last day scene, because at the Bronze Beta he said something like "I knew that Tim Conway line would come back to bite me in the ass" (Conway wasn't on the Carol Burnett show for the first episode, etc.) -

Yeah, I heard other rumors about how Angel, Spike, Illyria, and Gunn would be pulled into a parallel dimension by the Powers that Be to avoid the fight, and then return to LA or something. And, speaking of the Scoobies, there was something about how Oz would be brought back to help Nina "adjust" to her HAIRY~ situation. -

Good question. Anyway, here's the link. It's scanned off of Dreamwatch magazine. Basically what Bell says is "We all knew how it was going to end from early in the season and we pretty much played it out the way we needed to. We've been setting up stuff all along that I don't think people were aware we were setting up. We have been laying out breadcrumbs along the way that I hope add up to a coherent finale that makes sense." The whole interview is great, I recommend checking it out. -

Apparently, the writers had the Black Thorn planned since the beginning of the season, it's just they introduced the actual concept in the penultimate episode. Jeffrey Bell said it in an interview, I'll see if I can find it... -

Yeah, I did this list right after the finale. It's only for season 5, but I think it'd be too hard to do a comprehensive list for the entire series (at least for now) -

Maybe they can do that for Season 5...I doubt it, but if they did at least half the episodes (because this season DESERVES it) then I'd be happy. -

Man, that Angel set sounds AWESOME. All the episodes that should have commentary do (although maybe one of the Angelus eps would've been a nice addition [besides Orpheus]) -

That episode is "She", and even though the episode itself sucks, it includes the greatest teaser/credits sequence EVER. -

Hey, Drew Z. Greenberg's commentary on "Smashed" is pretty awesome. It's probably the best one in the set after Joss'. From the four I've seen, I'd rank them as: 1. Joss - OMWF 2. Drew - Smashed 3. Fury & Contner - Grave 4. Fury & Marti - Bargaining And from what I've heard you guys say, Hell's Bells and Normal Again commentaries suck, so I'm not going to leap right into those. And for anyone that has Region 2 DVDs (reekspeak?) what are the commentaries for Angel season 4/Buffy season 7 and how are they? I know Drew Goddard does like 5 commentaries, and the actors are a part of them this time (something they should've done a while ago) -

Well, for Bargaining being a 1.5 hour commentary, I thought Fury & Marti were enjoyable. I'd rather hear some pauses with long pieces of commentary rather than short quips every second. And I remember on the "Waiting in the Wings" commentary, didn't Joss just stop talking after Groo arrived? I really like the "Grave" commentary with Fury & Contner, by the way. -
