I just hope the Sox don't act like it's mission accomplished yet... still four more games to go guys! You can do it! I'm hoping for the Stros to pull through... I've got the biggest boner over a potential Schilling/Clemens game 7 at the Fens...

What sucked more... Damon's Grand Slam or his measly 2 run homerun? Did the skies above the stadium look like that scene from Ghostbusters, when the containment unit is shut down, and all of the ghosts are set free? Did Mama Cass make an appearance, with ham sandwich in hand? LET'S GO RED SOX!

God God GOD, please fastforward this to 11:30, so I can see if it's Ol' Blue Eyes or Liza crooning on the Stadium's PA... please let it be Liza. Just this once, Frank won't mind. I have a feeling I will throw up a few times during tonight's game... it's two hours away and I'm already jittery. Someone... hold me. Boston area posters- where are you watching the game? Home? Bar?

Mariano needs to tip his cap and call the Red Sox his daddy.

Fuck! Boston.com is saying Schilling needs surgery and will quite possibly miss the rest of the playoffs.

coming from a Braves fan, no less.

This is after he played Paul Pfieffer, right?

Where is it printed where the Sox are tauting Arroyo as a number 1-C? He's a serviceable number three, he pitched well at the stadium last month and pitched well Friday. But just to rile some people up, I'm going to suggest pitching Wakefield in game 1, given his performance last year in the playoffs (Game 7 not withstanding) and have Schilling go in Game 2. Pedro would start game 3 at the Fens. This way you still have the ability to pitch 1-A and 1-B twice in the series if necessary. Plus, I think Wakefield matches up well against Moose (see game 1 of 03) and Curt matches up really well against Jon Lieber. Assuming El Duque is on the shelf still. Just mt 2 cents. Oh, and I know that Sox already have the rotation set with Curt going in game 1, I'm just throwing this out for the sdake of argument. And I'm bored.

Concerning Lew Ford <Bob Lobel> Why can't WE get players like that? </Lobel>
-
Looking ahead, who do you have pitch game one? Keep the rotation and have Wakefield go one and Schilling two? Have Schilling one and Pedro two? OR Have Wakes go on game #2 after Curt, so that Pedro misses pitching in hostile territory? His track record in Yankee Stadium and the Dome isn't good...

Embree's a set up guy, and Mike Myers is the all-important lefty specialist...

Don't get any Offspring. They're closer to hair metal than punk, I think. If it's a Greek mixer- Gang Green- Alcohol DK- Too Drunk to Fuck Meatmen- Glad I'm not a Girl Black Flag- Six Pack Buzzcocks- Orgasm Addict some other fun punk gems Adverts- Gary Gilmore's Eyes Bad Brains- Rock for Light Agent Orange- Bloodstains Exploited- I Believe in Anarchy Gorilla Biscuits- Biscuit Power any Ramones in honor of Johnny UK Subs- I Live in a Car try to stay away from straight edge bands (ie Minor Threat, SSD) because they'll make you feel guilty for getting drunk and trying to get in the Gamma Phi Betas pants. Also, avoid any super political bands (CRASS, most DK, Reagan Youth) because that will be a bummer. And, at the end of the night, when only the freaky sorority chicks remain, toss in some GG Allin!

wow, 3 of the founding members gone, all within a few short years of each other. Sad, sad.

The Sox could be on the verge of a historic season. For one, of course they pretty much have a playoff spot locked up, unless a collapse of astronomic proportions is in store for the Nation. But they also have a chance to have two players with a .300 or better BA, 40 homers and 100 RBIs ("Manny-Ortez" as they're now known, with thanks to John Kerry) in the same lineup, which would be a first. In fact it hasn't been done since the 30's when Ruth and Gehrig did it for the Empire. Add to that the outside chance of two starters with 20 wins (Pedro has 16 wins with 4 starts left). This wouldn't be a first as Pedro and Lowe had 20 wins a piece two years ago. But if Lowe wins today, they'll have three starters with 15 or more wins, which I don't think has been done before in Boston. AND If Arroyo wins one more start, they'll have 5 starters with 10+ wins, again a franchise first. Needless to say, I'm excited about this team, Babe Bucky and Boone be damned.

Did the AL West self-destruct or something in the last few weeks? First the Angels & Rangers go on horrible losing streaks, dropping out of the Wild Card slot by several games, and now Oakland can't win either. Nope, they just ran into a Red Hot Red Sox team.

I gotta add that Boston is retahded in the fact that the local mass transit system (MBTA) closes at 12:30, about 90 minutes before the bars. If the city were truly concerned about drunks driving around, they would look to extend their operating hours. And yes there are cabs, but the subways system would be easier, cheaper, and wouldn't leave you on the street corner for half an hour trying to flag one down. And BBB- just get your dad in the CIA to get you out of trouble. That's what I would do.

Can someone point me to the Vanderjerk quotes where he said that the Colts are a better team than New England? What an idiot, when was the last time the Colts actually won against the Pats? 2000? Money, my ass. The streak wasn't that impressive given that the Colts play their home games indoors. Let's see Vanderjerk kick a game winner with snow blowing in his face at 20 MPH or with a wind chill of -25.
