"If they couldn't stand up to Howard Dean, how could they stand up to Al Qaeda?" BURN.

Cheney is ripping Edwards a new asshole... I'm surprised he can sit down right now.
-
$200 billion is an inflated figure... they haven't spent that yet. Hell, they've approved a shitload of money that is tied up in red tape right now.
-
Edwards is reminding me of Al Franken's impersonation of Pat Robertson circa 1988...
-
Mentat Cheney is pulling out Kerry's record and Edwards' record... This is going to be fun.

Cheney's ripping Kerry's record to shreds.
-
Cheney's going to shove this "They outsourced the OBL job" line up Edwards' ass...

Joe Pa's teams came down to Earth in late 1998. I'm pretty sure that was the year they were expected to win it all and went undefeated for 7-8 games before dropping about 4 straight. Since then, they've been .500 or worse. EDIT- My mistake, 1999. He had one winning season after that, 9-4 in 2002. He also had seasons of 5-7, 5-6, and 3-9.

See the "Bush is the real cheater" thread for the explanantion. That thread as well as this one are closed as of now and any new attempt to discuss this without a mainstream article to back it up will result in a trip to the Whiny Bitch Folder.

OK, I've had enough of this shit. Kerry had a pen, Bush didn't have an earpiece, and this thread is closed. If someone starts up a new one on this subject OR takes it into another thread, say "Hello!" to the Whiny Bitch Forum.

Texas A&M is the program that's taken the biggest dive over the past few years IMHO. They were a power up until about 1997 or 1998, when they beat Kansas State in the Big 12 Title Game. After that, they've taken a long drop down to mediocrity, partially because they've been supplanted by Oklahoma as the dominant Big 12 program.

Given my knowledge of the public school system, I'd say the way the teacher unions work is part of the problem. Instead of putting the best teachers in the schools that need them most, school assignments are based on seniority. That means that the schools that need good teachers the most will always get the most inexperienced ones and, as soon as they have experience, they'll do whatever they can to transfer to a better/safer/whatever school.

From what the season's looked like so far, the leading contenders for the Orange Bowl appear to be: Big 12- Oklahoma Big 10- Purdue Pac 10- USC or Arizona State ACC- Miami SEC- Auburn or Georgia The Big East (West Viginia) is officially out of the hunt because they lost and have too soft a schedule to go in with one loss. I'm also writing off Texas unless they throw the Red River Shootout curse and actually beat Oklahoma. I'm not counting on it, though.

This is one of the few times I'll scream "GO VOLS!"... If Tennessee and Georgia both beat Auburn, LSU has the opportunity to win out and go to the SEC Title Game for the 3rd time in 4 years.

As of the 4th quarter of Utah vs. New Mexico- Utah 28, New Mexico 7. The magic number is 35 at the moment and could still increase. The following teams have won so far this week: Marshall Navy U-Conn Utah (leading by 21 with 6 left in the 4th) No one has currently pulled out a win but Syracuse (Canadian Chris) and Florida State (2Gold) are sitting pretty because they picked two or more of the above and their opponents didn't.

You're fucking kidding me, right? There are currently 106 Electoral Votes still seriously in play (leaning Kerry, leaning Bush, or tied). Of those, Michigan had been somewhat solidly in Kerry's column until the past few days. Minnesota and New Jersey are traditional Democrat strongholds that are within a few percent of going for Bush. Oregon and Washington contain some of the FAR left and THEY are both within a point or two of going for Bush. In order for Kerry to win, he'd need to keep his leads in Washington, Oregon, Maine, New Jersey, and Minnesota. He'd also have to take the currently-tied states of Ohio, Michigan, New Hampshire, and a Bush-leaning state worth 6 or more electoral votes such as Iowa. All Bush needs to do in order to win is to keep what he's got now and get Kerry to spend all of his resources to keep states like Minnesota and New Jersey in his column.

Anyone else think that Kerry's "We should have given Iran nuclear fuel to test them" comment is going to blow up in his face down the road?
-
I think that the information revolution may skew the results more toward Bush's election in the coming weeks if people review the transcripts and not the actual video of the debate... That being said, the amount of people who'll actually seek out and read the transcripts is pretty low and probably limited to people predisposed to a certain candidate already.

With Navy beating the Air Farce tonight, I only need to split the remaining four games to win my matchup. Considering that Auburn-Tennessee and Georgia-LSU are both tossups, I figure I'll pick up at least one of those. I figure that Arizona State over Oregon is a lock.

Kerry was talking about "Saddam Bin Laden" at some point, too, so Bush wasn't the only one doing those things.
-
Even though this was effectively a tie, the Boston Globe has already written up an article about how this was a victory, as it was visible this afternoon. This made for a HELL of a lot of time-machine jokes on the blogs.

Kerry's sounding like Nixon here, with his secret plans to do everything.
-
That was a low blow by Kerry... Bush didn't throw it back in his face either.
-
SDI? Not a good idea. Kerry will talk about suitcase nukes.

"And you can't proliferate nuclear weapons without dilithium crystal! And we all know how our warp engine program is crapping out!" That's Star TREK, dude. Which makes it a valid Chewbacca defense as THAT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE! Look at the monkey! Look at the silly monkey!
