    Nadar might hurt your chances?

If this case gets enough press, a LOT of states may put Nader on the ballot. Given that the Kerry campaign is disintegrating before our eyes, I could see a lot of left-leaning voters deciding to vote for Nader in order to get him the 5% he needs for matching funds in the next election.

Isn't this some messed up logic?

The late 1800s elections involving Grover Cleveland, especially the two against Benjamin Harrison, were pretty ugly. That's why Cleveland is the only president in history to serve two non-consecutive terms. A swing vote of a few hundred people in one city was enough to throw the vote to Cleveland the first time, to Harrison the second, then Cleveland in the third. As for Dan Rather, I'm starting to refer to him as Dan Quixote because he's obviously tilting at windmills at this point. He's about to be removed as anchor of CBS since the CBS Evening News ratings in 9 of the 10 major markets have plummeted since the National Guard story broke. (Not coincidentally, San Francisco is the ONLY major market in which Rather's ratings are not suffering) Either doesn't realize he's about to be fired or or he's trying to spin everything as much as possible in an attempt to keep his job.

I think we've found where those WMDs went...

That's LIBYA, Mike, not SYRIA. Syria is the country that supposedly is hosting many of the Iraqi top leadership not in US custody, as well as the supposed destination of Saddam's WMDs right before the recent Iraq war started. Libya is Gaddafi's little dictatorship that admitted it was trying to start a nuclear program.

    Oh, this is funny

Rep. Christopher Cox is calling for a Congressional investigation considering that CBS got its ass in a sling so badly for coverage of the LAST election... It appears they made public promises to verify all of their stories better before airing them. http://www.hughhewitt.com

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 3

If we end up with a dead team, can we change the name from Georgia to Duke, Vanderbilt, or Baylor? I feel it would be more appropriate.

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Actually, I was wrong... That's not CBS's office number... That's the number for the CBS office of DAN RATHER. Honest mistake.
  8. teke184

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

OT: Hey, if anyone wants the number for the CBS office in New York, it's (212) 975 3691. Don't ask...

    Wrestling Gold set at Wal-Mart.

The matches (hours of them) contain an alternate audio track with commentary by Dave Meltzer and Jim Cornette. THAT is worth the price of admission by itself.

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 3

Chris, pick a Cal-Southern Miss winner just in case they play the game on Saturday.
  12. teke184

    Yeah, Kerry do THIS!

They got in over their heads when they decided "Anyone but Howard Dean"... They didn't bother to "vet" Kerry too well to figure out anything other than he didn't appear, on the surface, to be a total screwball like Dean.

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 3

Bored, Cal vs. Southern Miss on Thursday is officially postponed due to Hurricane Ivan. There's no word whether they'll play the game this Saturday or wait until December instead.

    Hurricane Uncle Ivan

I'll be riding out Uncle Ivan's wrath in Baton Rouge with my friends Jack Daniels and Jim Bean. I'm well stocked with liquor so I won't be running out during a break in the storm to get beer unlike OTHER people in my area. (Beer is the first thing most people go for after a hurricane around here)

    Someone change my name

At least I resisted the temptation to change your name to "Anal Angus" instead of "Colonel Angus"...
  16. teke184

    Someone change my name

Why, I've been hearing so many stories about Colonel Angus...
  17. teke184

    Oh, this is funny

I hope to God that Bush jumps all fucking over that all day, because that is a quote (And not even out of context) that you could toss back at him all day long and he couldn't dodge it. Yeah, and people WONDERED why I claimed that position is a flip-flop... The Kerry camp is talking about artifical deadlines to pull out of Iraq, staying the course, AND saying that Iraq is worse than Vietnam. If they had any more positions, I'd swear they were fucking contortionists...

Question about GBA games with batteries..

Most GBA games with a battery have an option that says "Restore defaults" or somesuch that will revert everything on the game back to the default values. I don't know where that would be stored on THIS particular game, but it's usually listed on the Options menu or some submenu of that.

    Oh, this is funny

This isn't a video clip... it's an interview in which Holbrooke is at one Fox office (New York) and the interviewer is at another one (Washington DC). Holbrooke was effectively making a rebuttal to the previous interview shown, which was with SecState Colin Powell.
  21. teke184

    Oh, this is funny

OT: In an interview with Fox News, former ambassador Richard Holbrooke, Kerry's foreign policy advisor, has said that Iraq is a bigger mess than Vietnam. I think he's going WAY down the wrong track here... If Iraq is worse than Vietnam, then Kerry would be waving a white flag by his insisted pullout instead of "winning on a timetable" as he's claimed before.

Massive explosion reported in North Korea

According to military personnel on Fox News this morning, they think it was a fuel bomb similar to the Daisy Cutter bomb or the MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs). If so, it's powerful but it's also unwieldy. They said it was mainly used to clear out areas before you insert troops there using helicopters. Granted, that may be a smokescreen because NO ONE would be happy if it came out that North Korea detonated a nuke, either one they bought or one they produced on their own.
  23. teke184

Guess who just tested a nuke?

Due to Highland's request, this thread is closed because Rob's thread on the same subject was posted first.
  24. teke184

Guess who just tested a nuke?

Well FUCK... Kim Jong Il is trying to raise the stakes on the negotiations he wants with the western world. The real question, though, is whether this is a nuke PRODUCED in North Korea or whether this is a bootleg nuke that they bought from Russia or somewhere else.

This Week in College Football 9/9 - 9/11

This has been a REALLY bad week for the Big 12 North... Missouri got humiliated. K-State is being humiliated. Nebraska is about to lose at home to Southern Miss. The only plus side is that Iowa State is competitive with Iowa. Loss on downs... Southern Miss will run out the clock to win!!!!!!!!!!
