Since the 2003 Fiesta Bowl (Miami-Ohio State), the #2 team has won 3 of 4 BCS Title Games. Florida's looking to make it 4 of 5.
-
HOLY FUCK, THEY GOT IT BACK~! Florida BETTER put up 6 off of this.
-
Kick it. Might as well put up 3 to make it a 13-point lead going into the half.
-
Wow. I know I like to call 4th down conversions when it's close, but that was just suicidal to do it on their own 30. It's up there with Cheeseburger Charlie's fake punt in the Sugar Bowl.
-
At least I marked my edits and didn't just wipe the whole thing out.
-
Cue up the band, we're about to see another 6 go on the board for Florida. EDIT- I'd think they've got a better chance of converting 4th and 15 than making this kick. EDIT 2- Guess he's not THAT bad after all, but I'd still have taken the chance on the 4th down with a long pass.
-
3 and out for Ohio State Florida better capitalize on their upcoming field position.
-
The Buckeyes are starting to slow down Florida, but they're still moving up the field.
-
What's the highest scoring BCS Title Game ever? Something like 34-27? Considering that we're 21-14 two minutes into the 2nd quarter, there's certainly a chance they'll break the record tonight. EDIT- The highest I can find is 79 total points from last year (Texas 41, USC 38)

If that happens, how many AP voters decide to make a name for themselves by voting Boise State as champs?
-
DAMN that was a sweet reverse. Florida's about to put up ANOTHER 6, whereas Ohio State's only gotten about 1 First Down so far.
-
Florida's D is bending over Ohio State's O.
-
Ted Ginn going into the locker room for an exam on his left foot. To make it even worse, Troy Smith just took a VERY long sack. However, Derrick Harvey of Florida is down and clutching his leg. He was able to jog off the field though.
-
What is it about LSU's defense and the Player Of The Year? In 2003, they kicked Heisman winner Jason White's ass up and down the field. This year, they shut down Brady Quinn and probably knocked him down 5-7 slots in the draft.
-
Nice 3rd down gain. Expect Tebow to go straight up the middle for 6. EDIT- Nope, Tebow was short and they ran the option to Harvin on 2nd down. 13-7 Gators EDIT 2- Looks like this comes back on the review, putting it at the 1. EDIT 3- Upheld? Damn. 14-7 Gators.

Wow... 2 personal fouls so far by Ohio State as well as a play pretty close to Offsides by the defense. Them doing stupid shit like that could make it a long night.
-
Florida's D is doing a good job so far... Let's see if they can make it 3 and out, which would be a big morale booster after the way that Ginn ripped them a new asshole on the kickoff. EDIT- KerSACK! Let's see if Meyer can put them ahead in a second.

... Wow. Christopher Lloyd re-appears, only to hock DirecTV as Doc Brown. I'd have thought he'd be shipped off to the Comedy Retirement Home by now.
-
Gators put 6 on the board during a short (4 minute) drive.
-
What's the over/under on Road Warriors jokes by the commentary crew?
-
If the kicker hadn't gotten the facemask, Florida'd be on the board too.
-
That was quick... A fucking month to break down film and they don't know to kick away from Ginn on the kickoff?
-
Lah-dee-frickin-da. If I wasn't a Saints fan, this would be a very disappointing set of games in the NFC. Bears beat Seattle because Seattle's beat-up defense can't put as much pressure on Rex Grossman as they'd like. (Man, I hope I'm wrong on this...) Saints beat the Eagles at the Dome, just like they did around Week 6. Ravens beat the Colts b/c Steve McNair is more competent than Trent Green was and won't throw a bunch of picks to Bob Sanders. Chargers beat the Pats in a very close one

Too bad Dukie V missed his beloved Blue Devils losing at home. He was too busy watching LSU overcome a bad 1st half to spank UConn.

OK... The coaching carousel currently sits at Arizona (Denny Green, fired), Atlanta (Jim Mora Jr., fired), Miami (Nick Saban, hired at Alabama), Oakland (Art Shell, resigned), and Pittsburgh (Bill Cowher, retirement). The only one of these people didn't necessarily see coming a month ago was Saban, as Cowher's possible retirement has been out there all year and the other coaches had notable problems on the field and/or with the owners. The only likely firing I can see on the horizon is Tom Coughlin if the Giants completely lay an egg this weekend. (That's a distinct possibility right there.) I think that Romeo Crennel and Joe Gibbs will get passes for the time being, while even the stupidest owners and GMs (Millen and Ford, please pick up the white courtesy phone) can blame first-year coaches like Rod Marinelli or Brad Childress considering the talent (or lack thereof) they were working with.
