I could live with that one, too. My only rule for losing assistant coaches and/or head coaches is that they go to another conference if possible, or at least not an in-conference rival we play each season. (I could live with someone going to Mississippi State or Ole Miss, who plain suck, but it's harder when they go to Alabama, Auburn, or Florida, which are three of the biggest games on our schedule each year.)

You can have Jimbo Fisher, but leave Pelini out of it. Just pay him enough so that Alabama doesn't get him. (I don't mind Jimbo leaving as long as the rat-fuckers in Tuscaloosa don't get him.)

Most shows run out of steam about 3 years in. The Shield has managed to stay fresh because they take time to *logically develop* the kind of stuff thrown away by most series. On most other shows, a minor one-shot character like Margos Dezerian would have been forgotten about, while The Shield used him as a boogeyman throughout Season 3 before bringing him back in the last two episodes to close out the Money Train storyline. They also like to deal with long-term consequences of some of their actions. For instance, the combination of Terry's death (episode 1), the Money Train (season 2-3), and the fallout from Angie's murder (stealing drugs to pressure the guy who dumped her body and the repercussions of Antoine Mitchell's bust from season 4) were all used by IAD to pressure Lem in season 5. That's indicative of VERY strong writing by Shawn Ryan and his crew, a determination to keep storylines consistent in continuity, as well as a solid idea of where they want the show to go long-term.

Unlikely, the main reason Schiano didn't take the Miami job is that he's probably waiting for Paterno to retire so he can get the PSU job. Minnesota job search will be interesting, funny that they're doing two buyouts with Mason and Monson this year. I've heard Frank Solitch's name come up a lot lately as a potential candidate for several jobs. He wasn't given the leniency as coach that Bill Callahan was given, IMHO, so it would be wrong to dismiss him as a failure at a large program. I think he could be a potential candidate at Minnesota if they want him.

1. 6 turnovers against Florida, including a fumble on the Florida 1-yard line after a TD call was overturned 2. Conservative playcalling and an overturned Pass Interference flag against Auburn I blame the refs and the coaches for Auburn. I blame the players for Florida because JaMarcus threw 3 picks and had at least 1 of the 3 fumbles.

The BCS needs to write an amendment into the contract that says "No more USC-UM games unless they're #1 and #2". USC has ass-raped the Wolverines several times now, including this year and in 2003. They also need to write one in that says "ND can now only get in if they have 0-1 losses and 0 wins over Top 25 teams OR 2 losses and 1 or more wins over Top 25 teams." That covers them in case ND's schedule falls apart like this year, when the only Top 25 teams they faced both killed them. (Georgia Tech fell out of the Top 25, IIRC, because they were 9-4 with at least 2 of those losses coming at the end of the year to Georgia and Wake, which were mid-level Top 25 teams at best.)

The BCS is about selling tickets, not about good games. Hence, why ND will get a BCS bid, deserving or not, until people stop showing up to see them.

And Brady Quinn settles for the announcers giving him a blowjob as a consolation prize.
-
OK, that was just freakin' scary... They showed someone wearing a Mil Mascaras mask in LSU purple and gold.
-
That chant always sounds best when it's Hawaii beating up on someone like BYU. Not that I'll complain here.
-
We're coming up on the pre-game prediction I made at work, which was either 42-17 or 47-17.
-
Looks like they're going to grind the clock and keep Quinn off the field. Good thing that they've got about 6 RBs to spread the ball around to (Justin Vincent, Keiland Williams, Alley Broussard, Trindon Holliday, Jason Hester, Charles Scott).
-
That was just dumb by the ND DB... If you get an INT in the end zone, you DON'T run it back out.
-
WTF is going on out there? ND had a late hit, yet the LSU *BENCH* gets the Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty?
-
Thanks, Landry! That makes up for getting fucked 30 seconds ago on the penalty.
-
Man, that was OFFENSIVE pass interference... the receiver pulled Jackson down.
-
JESUS CHRIST, ANOTHER 58 yard pass from Russell. I think we're looking at the #1 pick come this Spring.
-
"BLOW THE WHISTLE! BLOW THE WHISTLE!" redux
-
Kieland Williams is getting his run on right now. I just wish his dumb ass hadn't broken curfew this week so we'd have had him ALL night.
-
Charlie, THAT is how you do a fake kick.
-
Thank God... Note to Early Doucet- HOLD ONTO THE FUCKING BALL!
-
I mean that in the Craig "Ironhead" Heyward sense... As in "He can bowl anyone over in his way." Not the Sir Mix-A-Lot sense.
-
HELLO, Mr. YouTube... 58 yard pass by Russell to Doucet. EDIT- And Jamarcus' big ass runs in the last 5 yards for the 6.
-
#2? That's Detroit. He isn't going #2 if Calvin Johnson's on the board, now that Matt Millen is coming back next year. Maybe he's tanking to land in Cleveland's arms. How many people could stand being on the team with Braylon Edwards and Mr. "I'm a fuckin' soldier" Winslow?
-
Hrm... I want Landry to smack the shit out of Samarja on the next drive.
