Duke 40, Southern 36 early in the 2nd half.

Washington 9, Utah State 7 at 8:30 in... Looks like the kind of score that a Wisconsin fan is used to.

Are these A&M players Architecture majors? I'm inclined to think so with all these bricks they're laying right now...

That must make for interesting instructions from the coach... "Treat that point guard like he was your cellmate!"

If the Saints get a player of Vilma's quality of only moving down 2 spots in the draft, then that's a fucking STEAL... D-Line, LB, and the O-Line are the biggest holes remaining. By picking up an All-Pro in Vilma, that fills a hole while also putting them in position to pick up D'Brickashaw Ferguison or AJ Hawk. If the Saints pull off another trade-down from there, they could end up filling another need. For example, the Raiders may decide they want that 4 spot in order to pick up the remainder of Leinart, Young, and Cutler.

I've only missed 2 so far... Seton Hall vs. Witchita State and Marquette vs. Alabama. That's left me short a Sweet 16 team because I had Seton Hall beating Tennessee. Considering that I don't think a lot of people will have Witchita State over Tennessee, I don't figure it'll hurt me too much.

Watching Wisc-Milwaukee vs. Oklahoma here... What I'm wondering is WTF is going on with Seton Hall. I thought they'd win this game and yet they're getting ass-raped by Wichita State.

Agreed on the music... "Disarm" by Smashing Pumpkins at the end of this ep may have finally displaced "Overcome" by Live from after the Money Train heist as the most appropriate song used on the show.

LSU has the horses to run with anyone, even taking UConn to the buzzer earlier this year on the Huskies' home court. The problem is that, to say the least, they're consistantly inconsistent. They could go all the way or they could lose in the first round and I wouldn't be surprised either way. I just take it in stride and say "They're a young team, PG Tack Minor is going to get another year of eligibility due to a medical redshirt, and they'll be a power to be reckoned with next year no matter what."
-
Heh... and I thought *I* was the huge LSU mark. I only have them losing in the Final Four to Kansas.

For the first time since Katrina, I've been walking on sunshine ever since I heard that the Saints signed Drew Brees. Injury or not, Brees is a proven winner who has good instincts, something which has been sorely lacking during the tenure of Aaron "I'll get sacked for a 30-yard loss" Brooks. His signing also means the Saints don't have to blow the #2 pick on Matt Leinart, as they can instead use it on D'Brickashaw Ferguison, AJ Hawk or, hopefully, stoke a bidding war between the Jets, Titans, and Raiders to see who gets their choice of QBs. If the Saints are savvy enough with trading the pick, they could end up netting a good amount of extra picks to fill out the O-Line, LB corps, and defensive backfield. Now if they could only convince Lavar Arrington to consider New Orleans over New York or see if Julian Peterson is in good enough condition to warrant a nice offer...

Tennessee's women get a few points held against them because they lost 4 times... Although 2 were to #5 LSU and #4 Duke (with the Duke one being lopsided, 53-75), the other 2 were to Florida and Kentucky who, while good, are not elite. LSU's 3 losses were to #8 UConn, Tennessee, and Florida. The UConn loss was by 3 and the other ones were by 1. Duke only lost 3 and they were to #8 UConn, #3 Maryland, and #1 North Carolina. Ohio State only lost twice, to #5 LSU and Purdue, and North Carolina only lost one, to #3 Maryland, with Carolina playing in an exceptionally tough conference at that.

Penciling in an SEC team depends on the bracket involved. Some "Brackets Of Death:" happen to be ones where an SEC team falls, but it's just as often overrated teams from other non-ACC non-Big Ten conferences. Example- St. John's, the #2 seed in LSU's bracket in 2000, lost in the opening round. #3 Oklahoma and #1 Arizona lost in the 2nd round to Purdue and Wisconsin respectively. If John Brady hadn't had a total brainfart when it came to "BadgerBall" in 2000, #4 LSU could have gone to the Final Four. Then again, EVERYONE had a brainfart against "BadgerBall" until they faced eventual champion Michigan State in the Final Four.

LSU plays *everyone* close, with the exception of Tennessee and West Virginia, who they knocked the shit out of. They only lost to UConn by 1, Ohio State by about 5, etc. Their only "bad" loss this year is by 9 to Florida.

I want to retain the 'Aints this year.

If Treasury has those bill numbers, they didn't circulate them to Aceveda... The Strike Team boosted the copy of the list of bill numbers from Aceveda's safe, pulled out all the bills that appeared, then planted them on their patsy. If Corrine had any of the missing marked bills, Treasury would have been breathing down her neck instead of Shane's mother-in-law.

Bachelor's Degree Major: Management Information Systems Minor: History I'm debating a return to college at some point for a Masters but I'm unsure whether it would be in History, in Computer Science, or an MBA.

Clooney got an Acting nod for it. He also was involved with the production of Good Night And Good Luck, which is just as political as Syriana.
-
As opposed to you, who knows what a bad film is without even seeing it purely based on what you think its politics may very well be. I've seen Crash and Good Night And Good Luck and really enjoyed both. I was a tad surprised Crash was nominated for as much as it was. Dillon was excellent. I normally will give their choices a chance, but their picks this year seem to be overwhelmingly political. Munich and Good Night And Good Luck may be well-made movies but, like The Hurricane some years back, their relationship with reality is somewhat strained. That's a VERY bad quality to have in films based on actual events and hurts the enjoyment factor when so much of what you see is fudged to make political points. (This is opposed to former Best Screenplay winner Midnight Express, based on Billy Hayes' imprisonment in Turkey, where a lot of the prison sequences were overdone by Oliver Stone but the overwhelming spirit of the book was still intact) As for Bareback Mountain, I've spoken to several people who've seen it and the comments were mainly "It was good but certainly not Best Picture material". It's getting a big push because of the content, which means a good film that may deserve to get nominated is on the inside track to win a prize it doesn't deserve.

Goddamn double-posting...
-
After seeing the nominations, there's a four-way tie for "Best Picture Nominee I'm Never Going To Fucking Watch". The only nominated movie I could see watching is Crash... I will NOT watch Brokeback Mountain, Munich, or Good Night And Good Luck and I doubt I'll bother to see Capote. The only thing these nominations have done is confirmed to me that the Academy tends to be made up of people who have NO clue as to what a good film is and who vote politics over quality.

LSU better be ranked after this past weekend... Not that they beat great teams THIS week, but they're undefeated in SEC play along with playing a hard non-conference schedule, with a win over West Virginia and close losses to UCONN, Cincinnati, and Ohio State. Considering the number of Top 25 losers like 'Cuse and Indy, they better be at least #20.

Makes sense...

19 and counting so far... I have gotten: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 16, 18, 21, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 32 I'm going to refrain from reading the solution until I hit at least 25 of them.

Movies with MMA related people in them
teke184 replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Television & Film
Ken Shamrock and some other UFC guys are in Virtuosity. The movie is a chunk of shit, though, despite the presence of Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington.
