Pro Football HOFers active or recently retired

Morten Anderson should be under heavy consideration. Power- Has hit a 60 yard FG, one of the longest in NFL history. (Tied for #3, with 63 being the longest by both Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam.) He's also hit a 59 yard FG to tie him at #5. He also has the record for most 50+ yard FGs in a season (8) and in a game (3). Consistency- Has a lifetime PAT success ratio of 98.8% and a field goal success ratio of 79%, despite the fact that 45% of those kicks have come from 40 yards are longer. Longevity- He has played in the league for TWENTY THREE years. Granted, he's a kicker, but that's still VERY impressive. He is #3 in PAT attempts, PAT successes, and Field Goal attempts, is #2 in Field Goal successes, and within another year should be #2 or #1 in all these categories. He should be a first-ballot HOF candidate, but people may be prejudiced against kickers.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

He specifically requested OaOast access and nothing else. I'll probably add Sports back in as well because he's doing no harm there that I know of.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

We just worked out a deal to come off of the total ban... He's going to apologize for what was said and will be limited to the OaOast folders. He now has read-access to this thread, although the permissions mask on his account should be restricting his reply-access.

Tyler, if I was banning people for no reason, you and NY Untouchable would have been gone long ago.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

There's dissent (polite or otherwise), which is acceptable, and there's advocating the death of someone. Let's put the shoe on the other foot... If this was the Clinton years during the time when everyone and their brother was jumping the fence at the White House, would YOU think it was banworthy to talk about how glad someone would be if Slick Willy and Hillary got .45 caliber enemas?

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

The Secret Service is picking people up for all kinds of threats, actual and implied, so I'm not exposing the board to various problems just because Failed Mascot wants to be a dumbfuck.

Alex Smith #1 in Kiper's draft

You know, I'd laugh my fucking ass off if the 49ers tried to draft Alex Smith (QB, Utah) and accidentally ended up with Alex Smith (TE, Stanford) instead because they filled out the draft card wrong...

    Monday Night Television

It's on the air like The Simpsons is still on the air... It's a zombie corpse, a a pale shell of what it used to be.

2005 Dead Pool - Roll up, roll up

Darsow may have long-term effects from stuff he was using in the 80s and early 90s. Think Curt Hennig and how his heart blew out in about 2003 due to coke use from the 90s.

Who reads the TSM content site?

I agree with this point. Like I said before, there are alot of areas we can address outside show reviews, and there are many, many topics a column can cover, that would offer fresh and innovative content. Al's right-on here. Every shitty wrestling site out there does the standard RAW, SD, and B-show reviews. What made TSM stand out was what we did OUTSIDE the normal scope of things. My shoots are a good example of that, as shoots were rarely reviewed before I did it. SK did about 4-5 of them, but they were mostly half-assed. Doing them on a regular basis attracted one set of readers, as they didn't want to pay for the taped interviews. More readers came in once it became a weekly history lesson that tied together historical wrestling knowledge with the current events of the day in wrestling. Some of the more interesting quotes that showed up in the articles were how TSM got a LOT of hits, as Tom Zenk in particular snagged quotes out of the Road Warriors and Vader interviews to support his arguments during his weekly columns. Getting links from Zenk helped bring in a new readership because Zenk was the current darling of the Smark set, as he'd tear the WWF a new one every week while pandering to the Smarks in general. (On a completely unrelated note, I once got asked for Stan Hansen's contact info by a researcher for a Japanese TV crew because I'd just reviewed Hansen's shoot.) Someone coming up with something good and innovative could end up doing the same thing. This shits happens randomly all the time on the web, such as Zenk picking up on my shoots or Lance Storm attempting to rip the DVDVR guys a new asshole for their DVDVR 500 list. Given the obvious grasp for history that Loss has, he could easily put something together that would get someone's interest. Maybe a Fit Finlay or Johnny Ace could pick up on something because it covered the history of their careers in Europe and Japan. Maybe Bobby Heenan could read an article contrasting the great managers in history. etc. etc. etc.

    Most silent wrestling crowd ever?

Anytime they're in Nassau, Long Island, it's pretty bad. They have a reputation as being one of the worst crowds in the US when it comes to being silent for 90% of the show.

2016 Olympics go to a City in Africa?

This is the western-centric bastard in me, but I'd be hard-pressed to approve of an African city getting the Olympics anytime soon. North Africa- Casablanca, Tripoli, Cairo, and every other major Saharan Africa city is Fundamentalist Muslim Central. Think "concerns over the Athens games" times 100. Western Africa- If it's held in Monrovia, Liberia, will "torturing the former president to death" be part of the games? Sub-Saharan Africa- Whatever country gets the games will probably undergo about 3 revolutions between winning the bid and hosting the games. That doesn't include the high-paying "kidnapping for profit" segment of the two Congos, Rwanda, Burundi, and the rest of Central Africa. South Africa- There's some sembalance of a stable government in Cape Town, SA, and Pretoria, SA. However, this area has one of the highest AIDS infection rates in the world and it would probably be a sick joke to count all the losers at these games who would bring this home as a booby-prize because they got a little something-something without a jimmy-hat on. South America would be a better choice, provided that Rio or Buenos Aires could put together a good bid. Rio has a lot of the same problems as South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa though, as there is a high AIDS rate in addition to a high crime rate.

    Board Games

I still play board games every now and then... the new themed editions of games like Justice League Monopoly and Star Wars Stratego help bring new fun to the games, too. Traditional games: Monopoly (Star Wars or Justice League version) Clue (Simpsons, complete with Smithers as Ms. White) Stratego (Star Wars) Life (Star Wars) Trivial Pursuit (regular, Saturday Night Live, Star Wars) Computerized versions: Axis and Allies Trivial Pursuit More obscure (typically by Steve Jackson Games): Illuminati Deluxe Chez Greek Frag! I'm still trying to pick up Car Wars Deluxe and Hacker! Deluxe, but haven't found them locally.

Who reads the TSM content site?

Glad to see that my tape-pimp has emerged from his multi-child hiatus! When it comes to my current lack of activity, it's due to a few things: 1. Burnout I'd been doing shoots for about 2 straight years, starting when I just graduated college and continuing through my ups and downs at work. You'll probably see that my crankiest ones were weeks where I pissed and moaned about my job (especially early 2003). 2. Disgust The Feinslime situation in early 2004 helped turn me off to shoots for a while. That was before ROH and RF Video officially split, meaning that the biggest supplier of shoots was owned by an accused pedophile. 3. Real life situations Short version- Job stress, family stress, and home stress (cramped apartment then moving into a house) all took their toll on me. 4. WWE The WWE's "Zero to suck in five PPVs" routine in 2004 helped finish me off. Backlash was about the only thing done right in the few months following Wrestlemania and the fact that Vince was going to do what he wanted despite what the fans felt took its toll. That goddamn Bradshaw title reign was probably the last straw... As far as the future of my work, I have some new shoots that I've gotten from Ring Of Honor but I need to work time into my schedule to review them and get into the swing of things again before I attempt a comeback. To explain more fully, my shoot review technique is a combination of speed-typing, rewind-and-transcribe quoting, and researching threads to expand upon some of the more cryptic comments and questions within the shoot. I don't remember how many shoots it took for me to do this on-the-fly (as opposed to reviewing shoots I'd seen previously), but it took quite a few of them. Until I can get back into that mode, there's no point in me publishing one because I couldn't say when the next one will get finished.

Top 5 skill position players in NFL

Being injured for almost half of the year doesn't help him out that much. And yet he still cracked 1000 yards in the season. Another thing making Deuce's numbers more impressive is that Aaron Brooks got an INSANE amount of the touches for the Saints this year, throwing more attempts than any other QBs this year because the Saints got so far behind early in games. If they'd given Deuce a decent amount of touches, he'd have probably broken 1500 yards.

Top 5 skill position players in NFL

No love for Joe Horn at WR? The man came up 6 yards shy of the NFL receiving title this year with one of the flakiest QBs in the league.

    Bill Alfonso Referee Questions

BTW, he was ALSO the ref in the infamous Brusier Brody vs. Lex Luger cage match in Florida before Luger went to the NWA.

    Bill Alfonso Referee Questions

The biggest match that Fonzie has been identified as the ref in, pre-ECW, would probably be the Flair vs. Fujinami match from Japan in which Fujinami won the NWA title but not the WCW title. (I think this card is called "Rumble in the Rising Sun", and it took place right before Superbrawl 1) That was Fonzie's first card as a ref since his wife died, as he took a hiatus from the business to take care of her when she got sick.
  23. Jake is now wrestling's version of a Denis Leary routine... "How come all the TALENTED guys are the ones who die from their coke use? Curt Hennig, Art Barr, Louie Spicoli, Brian Pillman... but Jake the Snake would NEVER die... you put him in a room with two tons of crack and he'll come out 30 minutes later yelling 'ROCK ON!'" Granted, Jake WAS talented, but he started going downhill fast in the late 80s when he started inhaling enough coke to kill a whale.
