Bored, you fucked up. You've got Georgia in both the Champs Sports bowl and the Outback Bowl. It should be Georgia TECH in the Champs Sports bowl.

Jim Cornette: "The reason I don't still do this today is that I'm not going to get implants and I look terrible in a bikini."

I'd love to see Utah in the Rose if only to see Michigan get completely punked out. (I hate Michigan on general principle due to the 1997 Rose Bowl in which they beat Washington State on a questionable call)

It's their own fault, as Cal cancelled the game that week without consulting Southern Miss coach Jeff Bower, which gave him a serious case of red-ass.
-
Southern Miss scores, but the PAT is blocked and Cal scores off of it to get 2 points, leaving us with a 19-16 Cal lead.
-
Cal vs. Southern Miss is now 17-10 in Cal's favor. If nothing else, this will hurt Cal's computer rankings and their voting compared to Texas. Don't know if it will move them out of the top 6 though.

The whole SEC will be interesting. LSU will only lose about 4 starters, mainly from the defense, returns all of their talented RBs and WRs, and has a better schedule next year than they had this year. (They have Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn at home instead of the latter two plus Georgia on the road like this year) Mississippi State should pull itself out of the basement now that it has a real coach. The question is how well Croom recruits considering he was left with a pretty bare cabinet of talent. Alabama should be pulling itself together after several years of turmoil. If not, Shula better pack his bags. Auburn may lose Cadillac and others, but Tuberville is a good coach and they'll be able to reload and still compete, although not dominate. Arkansas should hopefully reload next year, although Houston Nutt better hope that he recruits a better level of character this time around. (Lots of Razorback players have been in severe legal trouble over the past few years) The only teams that should be completely out of the SEC title hunt next year are perennial cellar-dwellars Kentucky and Vanderbilt in addition to Ole Miss.

Who did UCLA lose to besides LSU?

Cal now up 13-7, but Southern Miss is doing a decent job on Arrington and QB Dustin Almond is actually playing like a Division I QB for once. (Southern Miss's offense hasn't been the same since one of the Nix brothers' career ended abruptly due to medical reasons in the past 3-4 years.)

Agreed. Bush made one hell of a statement. I'll agree as well. Bush got an average of 7 yards per rush on an average play and, on top of that, but also broke off two 60+ yard runs where he was shrugging off a decent amount of tackles. Leinart, OTOH, did nothing significant while I was watching.

V-Tech has shut down Brock Berlin deep in Miami territory, thwarting a potential game-winning drive to win the ACC title in their first year in the league.

Ouch. Zook deserves better than Illinois. At least it wasn't Indiana...

Actually, that's a different episode with a similar theme. This particular episode is the one where Kenny takes his class picture wearing his suit upside down (to where his ass is where the face hole on the suit is). Cartman then gets it on the side of a milk-carton.

Damn good season. I'm sure the mini-commentaries will be included. Is Jared Has Aides from the sixth season? I haven't seen that episode in years because Comedy Central refuses to air it. Jared Has Aides is the first episode of the sixth season.

Yet another reason why I love the Saints GM who traded Ricky's dumb ass.

Him being black play a factor considering that a Notre Dame alum/booster made an ass out of himself last year because he claimed that Notre Dame's academic standards kept them from getting top black athletes. That story is proof that there are black athletes out there who would qualify but that the coaches didn't do what they needed to in order to sign them.

The concept is cliche... Some of the stuff they did was priceless, like Captain Hero spending his winnings from Spanky Ham on a pimp-coat, a low-rider, and whores after making Bleh do the "limp of shame."

Drawn Together had two completely wrong storylines tonight... 1. Xandir, Toot, and Woolbat Sockdor find out that when Ling-Ling gets sad, she secretes a hallucinagenic substance, so they keep finding various ways to bum her out then lick up the substance. 2. Princess Clara's "short-carriage" cousin shows up and Captain Hero hooks up with her because "she's got 100% of the body and 50% of the pillow talk."
-
Any of you watch Drawn Together? That was SO fucking wrong on several levels... It's going to be hard for them to keep topping themselves.

BTW, personal story time here. My HS teammate Jimmy Williams, who plays for the 49ers, was being recruited by Notre Dame around 1996-1997 under Davie. He was exactly the kind of player the school is having trouble finding right now (black, fast, VERY smart) but they had two things working against them. 1. Notre Dame was too far from Baton Rouge for his family to be able to see any games in person. (The NBC TV deal was nice, though) 2. Notre Dame refused to even consider him as a running back, which was his primary position. They, like most other teams that recruited him, would only look at him as a DB. (Darth Visor himself, Steve Spurrier, came to recruit him in person but was only looking at him as a DB. Jimmy's cross-town rival, Travis Minor, was the one being recruited as a RB, although Florida State ended up getting him) He ended up signing with Vanderbilt of all teams because they'd give him a chance at RB. It lasted one season in which he was good but was shown that he could better help the team elsewhere. He was converted into a Cornerback and then became an All SEC player at that position. The point of the above story is that highly qualified players choose schools for different reasons. If they are willing to work with a player, the player may take that into consideration and go there. If any of the other schools recruiting him (Florida, Northwestern, Notre Dame, LSU, etc.) had committed to try him as a RB for at least one year, they could have landed him. The way it turned out, though, Vandy was the only one to do so and they got one of their better recruits of the past 20 years as a result. (Vandy went 5-6 at least once while Jimmy was there, which is pretty damn good for a school that's only been to two or three bowls in its history)

ND's tarnish started with Davie but Willingham solidified it with his run over the past two years. He may have had the same record as Davie over the same period of time, but that doesn't show the trajectory of the team during both periods. Davie's team did bad in its first year then improved over the next two. Willingham did great out of the gate then ran into a brick wall once he played in a good bowl game. A 5-7 season followed by a 6-5 season wasn't going to cut it, even with wins over Michigan and Tennessee, because of the way the program was losing games to bad teams like BYU and getting blown out by traditional rivals. It may have been rash to fire Willingham after this season, but he was a dead man walking unless he pulled off a miracle soon.

What a fucking tragedy. [/sarcasm] He was a rushed hire, as they grabbed that guy after Auburn did the faux pas of stealing Tuberville from them. (Other schools in the SEC have stolen coaches from schools within the league, like LSU taking DiNardo from Vanderbilt, but typically not stealing coaches from a team within the same division.) If not for Manning, they never would have been competitive in the league. They had a pathetic secondary last year and were only saved because The Great And Mighty Eli could carry their asses on offense.

I'm going to LOVE watching the Capital One Bowl... Beats the fuck out of having to shake off a hangover early to watch the Cotton Bowl like I did two years ago for LSU vs. Texas. If Saban can successfully break down the tape of Iowa getting ass-raped by Arizona State earlier this year on both sides of the ball, this is going to be funnnnnn.

What does your team need to do in the offseason?

I'm hoping that's supposed to have the [/sarcasm] tag... I find Tight End to be a pretty useless position in most offenses. With the exception of a few guys like Gonzales, Heap, and Shockey, they're pretty much glorified blockers who might catch 4 passes in a season if they're lucky. Unless Cleveland has more of those games like the one Sunday, they're never going to use Winslow enough to justify that contract. -

Jimmy Williams as in CB for San Francisco, played college at Vandy, was my HS teammate in Baton Rouge Jimmy Williams? That just made my day... Jimmy's a trip. Fast, fast guy and very smart. Motherfucker speaks three languages including Japanese. He was the leading kick returner in the NFC 2 or 3 years ago but fucked up his knee after that.
