Saddam screwed the U.N. out of 21 billion

Technically he didn't screw the UN out of all of that money... Who do you think he paid half of it to?

    BCS Week 5 Standings

SoS is no longer a direct portion of the BCS formula. HOWEVER, it can still be factored into the computer polls used to make up 33% of the formula. Right now, though, Auburn is edging up into 2nd place because they're tied for #2 in one poll and only 4 points behind in the other. If they combine that with strong wins over Alabama and Tennessee, it could vault them in over Oklahoma, who'll face Baylor and whatever scrub the B-12 North throws up.
  3. It's being reported on all the channels that VP Dick Cheney has gone to a DC-area hospital under doctor's instructions due to shortness of breath. There is no concrete information past that, although many believe that this could just be a bad cold rather than a 5th heart attack.
  4. I'm tempted but that would be a bit far... for the moment. He better hope he doesn't pick the wrong time to challenge my authori-tah.
  5. I changed it... motherfucker must have changed it back afterwards. INXS, live up to your part of the bet. When I change your avatar this time, it stays like that until Slapnuts says otherwise. If it gets changed again, I'm more than willing to change some things that you CAN'T change back on your own.

This week in College Football 11/9 - 11/13

In the past, the big BCS buster-busters have been Hawaii (Who destroyed BYU some years back) and Southern Miss (embarassed TCU for 3 quarters before making it a game in the 4th). Both of those teams were top-quality mid-majors. BYU is in a serious rut this year, with a season-opening win over Notre Dame as their only highlight. Utah better be careful, but I'm sure they'll pull it off.

    Election 2008

Frist and Giuliani have the best chances as of now. One of them will probably replace Cheney if he has another health scare, which gives them the inside track for 2008.

New USA Today poll is out- Oklahoma is #2 with 1435 points. Auburn is #3 with 1433 points. It looks like Auburn could jump Oklahoma within the next 2-3 weeks. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm In a slightly related story, Utah is up to #6 in the poll from #8, and is within striking distance of #5 Texas (1222 for Texas, 1203 for Utah)

The championship game will help Auburn because they'll play Tennessee. The championship game could hurt Oklahoma because they could play Iowa State or someone half-assed like that. (The B-12 North absolutely SUCKS this year)

It shouldn't have THAT much of an effect... The polls make up 67% of the BCS ranking and USC, through the sympathy vote over getting "screwed" last year, is #1 in both. That last 33% would have to be made up of some of the worst computer-poll numbers in football to knock them out of the title game if they remain undefeated. What's more likely to happen is OU getting screwed because people are pissed that they made it into the title game last year over USC.

Cheney in hospital for shortness of breath

If Cheney has to step down, two names floating around for his replacement are Rudy Giuliani and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn). Considering there is no true "heir" for when Bush leaves office, replacing Cheney early in the term gives them the opportunity to create one. However, getting them elected would be bucking history, as Martin Van Buren and George HW Bush are the only sitting VPs to be elected and both became one-termers.

Christ... Boise State and San Jose are tied at 35 in the 4th. As good as Boise State is, it would be humiliating to lose to a team that's on the verge of dropping back down to I-AA.

One Day Left by Michael Moore

Black people live there. Yep... Kerry won a decent number of counties, but they were mostly in the Delta, a heavily-black, sparsely populated, and poverty-ridden region along the Mississippi River. He also won the Hinds county (Jackson). Hinds was the only large county that Kerry won, as Bush won Forrest and Lamar counties (Hattiesburg/Oak Grove), Harrison county (Biloxi/Gulfport), Pearl River (Picayune), Rankin county (suburbs of Jackson), and Hancock county (suburbs of Biloxi/Gulfport).

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 11

Winners so far- Florida State Memphis Tiebreaker #1- Memphis and Southern Miss combined for 56 points. Fresno State is currently up 28-0 over Hawaii in the 2nd quarter. EDIT Fresno State is now up 49-0 at the half. I think they've opened up a full case of whoop-ass out there.

    Election 2008

Oh will they. Sort of. They'll still want her on the ticket as well as THE BILL~! and his fundraising and allies, so she'll be the VP candidate. In that case, Geraldine Ferraro II: Electric Boogaloo Funny thing about Ferraro... My grandfather was a straight-ticket Democrat for decades because he was a union electrician and the only time I know of that he voted Republican was when Ferraro was Mondale's VP candidate.

Looks like the low-man wins Tiebreaker #2 this week, as Sexton only threw for 73 yards against NC State.

    Election 2008

Giuliani made his name as the District Attorney who sent a lot of the New York Mafia chiefs to prison in the 1980s and 1990s. Even if he doesn't make it to the White House, he's a lock for Attorney General under a Republican president if he ever wants it.

Report: Clarett received gifts at Ohio State

Yeah, he did show up overweight and out of shape. I still say that some team will at least invite him to a training camp. At that point, his shitty attitude will result in an "accident" that puts him on the shelf. (Teams still haze the new players and more than one player has been injured in those incidents.)
