As I've said to others, that's because I've been cleaning up around here by moving Cpac and St. Gabriel Of Djibouti to the Whiny Bitch folder once they completely lost it.
-
Kerry just called Bush to concede according to the AP.
-
Partly, that's because I've been cleaning up the folder as some of the Dems around her completely lost it like St. Gabriel of Djibouti.

I told you --- the MSM's "impartiality" is dead due to this election. -=Mike Now, Bush is leading New Mexico with 52-48 with 97% of all precincts reporting, but it is still too close to call, and we cannot yet project New Mexico for George W. Bush. It's 10 on the East Coast and polling on the West Coast is just about to close, where we can safely say that California will go to John Kerry. Let's keep this fact in mind: Pennsylvania is closer than Ohio. -=Mike Then why has nobody mentioned this, and Penn has been long called for Kerry? Something's up Because Bush wasn't expected to pick up Pennsylvania and isn't threatening to sue in order to overturn the results.

They lost 4 seats in the Senate, including their Minority Leader. That doesn't make them irrelivant in the Senate but it sure cuts down on what they can do to stop Republicans from running the show.
-
If they want to run a Southern Democrat, they should consider trying to find a centrist governor in a state like Louisiana who can navigate a 50-50 electorate and still win each time. Technically, Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana fits that description on paper but she's got some skeletons in her closet that would keep her from winning the nomination.

Umm, 140,000 votes is pretty damned dominant. The election is over, and fuck Kerry and the MSM for not proclaiming Bush as President re-elect. -=Mike 140,000 is a razor thin margin and is not substantial, especially when you add in the hundreds of thousands of uncounted voted that COULD (though likely won't) play a role. If the situations were reversed, you would be taking my side. There are reported to be 170,000 provisional ballots and Kerry has a deficit of 140,000. Considering that not all provisional ballots will be legal, Kerry has to get damn near all of them in order to win. It is NOT going to happen.

Loss, if you've got a problem with my methods, take them up with me in the Staff folder or by PM.

The Dem party is NOT dead right now. However, the longer that Kerry goes without conceding, the more damage it gets from this election. They ran their entire platform this year on Anybody But Bush and what did it get? A bigger margin of victory for Bush over Kerry than he had over Gore as well as a Republican gain of 3-5 seats in the US Senate. They're hurting badly from this election BUT they can recover if they head back to the center instead of further to the left.

Every political pundit who has weighed in on the Daschle loss says that the new Minority Leader will be Harry Reid of Nevada, who was Daschle's whip.
-
Harry Reid of Nevada is projected to be the new Minority Leader. However, I think that they may throw a curveball and choose a fucking nutball like Patty Murray of Washington instead.
-
I'm out for the night. If someone finds Kerry dead in a bunker from a cyanide capsule, take a picture of it then piss on the body and dismember it.

Internationally, they're centerists. I don't really care for Daschle and don't like Kennedy just because I hate legacies. I'm also not a big fan of Byrd because, well, duh. But I don't think those reasons alone are enough that the whole party needs to be flushed down the toilet. I'm curious. Are you one of those guys that genuinely rambles about how the 1950s were the high point of America and things got all rotten once people started fighting for civil rights? I know they exist, I've just never talked to one. Civil Rights is NOT part of my reasoning. My reasoning is based more on the fact that the "young turks" decided that they were going to change the world and damned if anyone was going to stop them. The problem is that, while they think they're doing good, they have a HORRIBLE track records. 1972 was the first election where they called the shots for the Dems. They lost in the BIGGEST electoral defeat of that time. Between 72 and 76, they systematically destroyed Richard Nixon and forced Gerald Ford upon the country in an effort to win the White House in 1976. (Gerald Ford only became VP because he was the only Republican that the Democrats would let Nixon have) In 1976, the Democrats finally won the White House back for the first time since LBJ was president when Jimmy Carter took over. Unfortunately, Carter was completely useless as president and proceeded to make mistakes that are still costing us today, such as installing the Ayatollah in Iran in place of the Shah. When Ronald Reagan beat Carter in 1980, they were PISSED. They spent the next 8 years fighting all of his efforts tooth-and-nail. To this day, they still don't give him credit for anything. They love to blame him for certain things (Iran-Contra) but don't like to explain the circumstances behind those things. Example- The Contras were the legally elected government of Nicaragua. When the Sandinistas stole power from them, the Dems blocked Reagan from aiding them despite the fact that they WERE the legally elected party. I could go on and on, but let's just say that they have a horrible track record since the days of FDR (and ESPECIALLY since Kennedy died) and that certain negative aspects of our daily lives can be attributed to their "the ends justify the means" mindset.

You'd be surprised how many Native Americans they can get to vote. -=Mike Yeah, that's why I've been saying this one will be settled in the courts. I'm just wondering if Daschle will take a big chunk of the party's national support down with him.
-
Over 30,000 absentee ballots? If not, then they shouldn't count them because Bush's lead right now is 30,000+.
-
http://daschlevthune.typepad.com/daschle_v_thune/ There are only 22 precincts left and almost no way for Daschle to make up a 9000 vote deficit.
-
Since I got nothing else to do, I guess I might as well ask: why do you not like the Democrats THAT much? I don't have a problem with Democrats per se... I hate their leadership because they're so incredibly far left that it's hurting the country. Ever since the Democratic party underwent a revolution in 1968, they've been getting more and more radical. The Ted Kennedys, Patrick Leahys, Tom Daschles, etc. are some of the dirtiest players in politics and like to play misdirection by accusing their opponents of what they do. Daschle and the Democratic party funneled a LOT of money into South Dakota in 2002 to beat John Thune. It worked at the time, as Thune lost by 550 votes, but now Thune's getting his revenge. In short, my views are pretty much that the Democratic party of the 1940s and 1950s was the party's shining hour while their so-called "golden years" from 1960 on have been a whitewashed disaster, ESPECIALLY since the "young turks" seized power after the 1968 elections.
-
Christ... Bush's lead just went up to 140,000. I think that the remaining precincts are in areas like Dayton, which means that Kerry is officially fucked.
-
You know what'd be hilarious --- this was mentioned on NRO --- what if Daschle loses? Who becomes Senate Minority leader? Edwards? Kerry? Clinton? Imagine if Kerry didn't get the slot. Harry Reid of Nevada from what I'm hearing...
-
We're just gonna have to agree to disagree here, I'm afraid. His lead has only increased all night. If Kerry wants to try and steal an election he lost by 6 digits, that's going to bury the DNC. -=Mike If it didn't mean a further loss of face overseas, I'd ENCOURAGE Kerry to do this... It would be the first step in taking the Democratic party out of power and letting some new faction arise in its place.
-
794 of 827 precincts - 96 percent John Thune Rep 190,817 - 51 percent Tom Daschle (i) Dem 182,407 - 49 percent Bye, Tom... Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
-
... USA Today is reporting that New Mexico has reported *101%* of the precincts... What the fuck is going on in New Mexico?
-
Not me... I got the day off because I saw this in advance. I blew off a lot of the 2000 election mess because I had to go to class the next day, but I'm not missing this.
-
There's no activity there, so it wouldn't do you any good to see it.

Hey, I'm hoping we fight this, too. Four years ago I said that Gore should have given up earlier and left the scene because we could just win the next one. I know better than that now. However, I'm not stupid enough to sit and rant about how the man isn't my President and I'm moving to Canada. You're doing this and I know you're going to be lining up to vote again in the next election, so shut up and admit it. You're being almost as retarded as Mike is when he claims the other side is UnAmerican, but even worse than that, you're giving his retarded arguement credibility. You should look at Democratic Underground, where they are planning on going to OH and attacking people. -=Mike ...DU: We're NOT nuts! HONEST!... Mike, shrink your sig.
