Send that memo to Kerry please. OBAMA in '12! (That's right I'm conceeding '08, Dems need to restructure) Who do you guys think the GOP nominee will be in 2008? Jeb? Jeb said he won't run in 2008. 2012, however, is a possibility and Jeb has a MUCH better record than W of winning in a divisive state like Florida.

Unfortunately, it looks like my homestate is going Democratic again this year due to the Yucaa Mountain controversy. New Mexico, Iowa, and Wisconsin, normally Democratic states are teasing a Bush win. It's a 3000 vote difference with only about 44% of all returns in. Chances are that returns from Las Vegas, Carson City, Reno, and other big cities are in and that they're waiting on returns from small towns like Podunk, Sheepdip, and Desperation.

Moving on... With 87% of the precincts reporting in South Dakota, John Thune has a 7,000 vote lead over Tom Daschle in the Senate race. If Kerry doesn't pout and cause a scene over the Presidential election, Daschle sure as hell will over his Senate seat.

Canada as part of the free world has been debatable lately, especially since their recent movement to let the large Muslim minorities govern themselves through Sharia law. They've also been telling us "Go to Hell!" for roughly 4 years, so 4 more years of Bush won't be any different. It's not like Kerry would be able to "mend fences" while fixing some of our more pressing issues.

Kerry says that there's roughly 250,000 votes outstanding in Ohio and that, once they're all counted, he'll win. I'm having visions of Baghdad Bob right about now.

Here's something I'm sure you've heard before: we Americans are quite glad you're up there instead of down here with us. Gracious, senior. Maybe when your best friend comes home in a bodybag, it'll hit home for you. Or when your uncle loses his job. Maybe your child will be a homosexual and will be ostracised and be deprived of equal status as everyone else. This is like the 1950's again, and it is going to have damaging results. Sounds like you're trying to relive the 1960s... Funny how everyone talks down the 1950s while talking up the 1960s.

Bush is pulling ahead in Iowa... he's got a 2500-3000 vote lead with 88% reporting.

Hawaii closes at about 2AM or 3AM. They may be enough to solidify a Bush victory.

NBC called Ohio and Alaska. They're basically admitting he's re-elected.

55, although Dem wins in Alaska or Colorado would subtract from that total. There's still the possibility of Thune over Daschle in SD, but that one will be VERY ugly.

    CNN Live projections

Fox projects Bush in Ohio and, thus, is 3 EVs short of re-election. Whenever Alaska is projected, he'll wrap it up.

Currently, that's a gain of least 3 for a total of 54-45-1. (Gains in SC, NC, LA, GA. Holds in KY, OK, PA, etc. Loss in IL) They could still lose seats in Colorado and Alaska, but could also pick up a seat in South Dakota.

    CNN Live projections

Rudy Giuliani and George Pataki are at the top of the list. If the Constitution gets amended, Arnold could run and would have a decent chance. Outside of that, we could see some interesting maneuvering over the next four years.

I thought he already had Montana Alaska then... same number of EVs.

At least Carville was honest. I mean, Bush does lead Ohio and he is about to wrap up Florida. He gets them both, Kerry will be worried and could be in very big trouble. It depends on whether Kerry wants to gamble his political future on lawsuits in Florida, Ohio, and any Gore states that he loses. If he files suit in ANY of these states, he'll be in serious trouble in 2008 no matter if he's President or still in the Senate.

Real Clear Politics has called Florida. Fox News has acknowledged that the other networks are calling the state but they refuse to yet.

Thune's race will be tied up in court for 2 months minimum. Things will get VERY dirty when the Indian vote comes in, as there's a long tradition of vote-buying on the reservations.

I'm surprised that Oregon hasn't been called for Kerry yet... The current numbers, at 40% turned in, are Kerry up roughly 60-40%.
  21. teke184

    CNN Live projections

The 55-point swing in the EV counts is that California's been called in one set but not in the others. If Cali had a shitty turnout because Kerry seemed to be in trouble, Bush could pick it up and shut the door on him. And monkeys might fly out of my BUTT...

That's legalese for "If we call it before Kerry decides against suing, we'll be named as a co-defendant in Kerry vs. Bush."

With 55% of all precincts reporting, John Thune is leading Minority Leader Tom Daschle by about 1500 votes in South Dakota. The Indian vote, typically heavy for the Democrats, has probably not been counted yet.
