Exactly. They all lost 1 game. They're all on even footing here. OU lost 1 game. Yes but they also dominated the season like nobody else in history except for 95 Nebraska. That right there should shoot them up as deserving of the National Title game. First law of poll dynamics and public perception- A late loss is MUCH more harmful than an early loss. Result- OU losing the last game of the regular season is MUCH worse than USC or LSU losing midway through the season. OU's domination throughout the year was impressive, but LSU's put up numbers just as good on both sides of the ball while USC's offense can match OU's offense.

The funny fucking piece of irony is that LSU and TCU were both involved in that mess, as LSU's upset of Tennessee cleared the way for Colorado, Nebraska, and Oregon while TCU beating Southern Miss put Nebraska just over Oregon in the BCS.

My big explosion would be "Well, OU kicked our asses but the game SHOULD have been LSU-USC", but that wouldn't necessarily mean that LSU would have beaten USC either.

BTW, Oklahoma COULD still be the national champions but a bunch of people will be PISSED because USC and LSU is the game a bunch of them feel should be the title game.

Fluke loss? No, USC losing in triple overtime or Florida getting screwed by bad officiating is a fluke loss. OU getting its ASS KICKED by K-State is NOT a fluke loss, unless you mean fluke as "Our players didn't give a shit." And, btw, if OU HAD lost to Texas and beaten K-State, the argument wouldn't be nearly as tilted against OU because all three teams would have lost at roughly the same time... not USC and LSU losing early in the season and OU losing their last game of the year.

It goes down as a split title, like Nebraska-Michigan in 97 or Colorado-Georgia Tech in the early 90s. There would be no "single" champion.

Technically, Bama wasn't shit this year, even at the beginning when everyone thought they were good, because they're on probation. They're ineligible for votes in at least one of the polls as a result.

I wouldn't necessarily call OU's schedule easy, but they screwed up BIG TIME by believing their own press and figuring that K-State would lay down for them. Because they not only lost the last game of the season but got FUCKING CRUSHED in it, they should be out of the title game. What OU did, LSU has about equalled except that LSU didn't get thrashed as badly by Florida as OU did by K-State.

Boo fucking hoo. If the pre-season polls are any indication, LSU should get into the title game based on the fact that they were no-sold compared to USC, Auburn, OU, Ohio State, etc.

LSU's BCS number will shrink rapidly because of this. Moving to #2 in the polls will move them down to 7. Moving up in the computers will move them down to probably 6.5. Improving in Strength of Schedule will move them up more. Oklahoma's numbers will be NO lower than a 5, and that's only if they stay #1 in all computers and move to only #3 in both polls. (3 for polls, 1 for losses, 1 for computers, SOS and quality win over Texas cancel each other out.) Once they start losing computers, LSU and USC start improving dramatically while OU falls.

KSU will be in the Fiesta Bowl and probably play Florida State because the Orange wants Miami-Ohio State. As for KSU's problems with scheduling teams, start by expanding the capacity to your stadium. They seat like 46,000 there while teams like LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, etc. can fit 90,000+ in their stadiums. If K-State wants to play teams like that, they need to go on the road.

And if USC hadn't messed up in OT, they'd be undefeated. And if LSU hadn't been bad against Florida, they'd be undefeated. And if a frog had wings, it wouldnt' bump it's ass a hoppin. Neither USC or LSU lost a game THIS badly all year, let alone at the wrong time. Give it up, they're done.

If everyone was calling them the best team ever then they choke BIG TIME against K-State, that's enough of a reason to call them overrated. VERY few people gave K-State a hope in hell of being within a touchdown of OU.

Damn... I REALLY wish I'd gotten those 25-1 odds against LSU winning the title this year when I was in Vegas this July.

    Greatest team ever, Damaramu?
  16. teke184

The College Football Championship Week Thread

Maybe not, Damaramu... Oklahoma's BCS score at the moment is based off of a few things that could change, including a consensus #1 rating in the polls. If they get killed by K-State, their polls will drop to at least 3rd or 4th and some of their computer rankings could drop because their strong lead is based off of being undefeated.

Is that the game with the motion sensors, where if you move down your character moves down? I love that game. I thought it was called 911? No, this is a set of games similar to Point Blank. You have to qualify in 6 different categories (speed shooting, accuracy, etc.) to move through each particular rank. The 911 game is closer to VirtuaCop, I think.

Hey Georgia... Who'syourdaddy? 14-0 from a 85 yard TD run, safety off of a dropped punt attempt, long-ass TD pass to Michael Clayton... if Chris Jackson could kick the ball at the broadside of a barn, this would be a perfect game. Let's also hear it for K-State, who's up 14-7 on Oklahoma. If Oklahoma loses, LSU will be in the Sugar and USC may be the odd man out.

I have two arguments for LSU over USC, namely their stronger schedule and loss to a better team (ranked Florida versus unranked Cal) and if they repeat over Georgia tonight then they should be in the title game. On the other hand, as I've said, I think it's you-know-what that it can come down to all the indirect factors, like a game between two sub-.500 teams Granted it was to a better team LSU's loss was at home and they were pretty dominated by Florida most of the day while USC's loss came on the road in triple overtime. Also going into today USC had a higher strengh of schedule that LSU. LSU's will push pass them by getting a 2nd game against Georgia. On top of that LSU's non-conference schedule was a joke: Louisana-Monroe, Arizona, I-AA Western Illinois, and Louisiana Tech. 1. LSU's non-conference schedule sucked this year because Troy State and Marshall pulled out at the last minute, hence Western Illinois and ULM. Also, Arizona fucked QUITE a few teams this year because they signed a bunch of contracts when they were a Top 10 team a few years back then were one of the worst BCS conference teams this year. BTW- Western Illinois gave us a better game than the Pac 10's own Arizona did and probably a better game than most of the Pac 10 could have this year. 2. LSU's CONFERENCE schedule beats the living hell out of USC's whole schedule this season. Auburn's a wash because both teams played them but LSU will have played #5 Georgia twice, #12 Florida, Ole Miss, Arkansas, etc. Outside of Washington State, USC hasn't played anyone worth a crap because Hawaii, Notre Dame, etc. are all at about .500 or below and many of the Pac 10 teams completely suck this year.

This will probably be the last anyone will talk about Saban jumping to the NFL for MANY years. Either he'll do it after bringing LSU to a 2nd BCS game in 3 years or he'll stay at LSU for a long time. Personally, I think he's staying because Mrs. Saban is fucking tired of moving every few years and the whole family likes Baton Rouge.

Not quite as clear-cut as you'd think. LSU is returning about 90% of its starters next year and a lot of the young players, like the running backs, will only get better. The only guys I know are leaving for sure are DT Chad Lavolais, WR Devry Henderson, and OG Steven Peterman.

    Best lightgun game

In the case of the old NES games, the gun would set off a pulse that would make a highlighted box appear behind "shootable" targets. If the gun was aimed at one of those boxes when the trigger was pulled, that object was shot. I'm not as sure how the newer games work, although the collision detection is MUCH better, as you can hit specific parts of an object instead of automatically hitting an object in the center mass each time you hit it.

I pull for Navy when I give a crap for several reasons. 1. The people I know who went to the Naval Academy tend to be a LOT better people than the ones I know who went to West Point. 2. Army was in Conference USA and it's pretty bad when they can't even beat crap teams like East Carolina from the bottom of the conference. I don't think they've won a CUSA game in years and would STILL have a tough time of it if they played future member SMU.
