  1. LSU + Georgia Dome bowl game = assrape.

    Not always...

IIRC, the Peach Bowl games against Clemson and Georgia Tech in the 90s / early 2000s were something like 14-10 and 28-10, with LSU being down at the half for both.

The one against Miami and this one are fucking insane, though, as the combined total of the last 6 quarters for LSU in the Peach Bowl is around 78-6.

  2. Man I did a great job betting on LSU in this one. GT was favored by 4.5! And LSU is leading by 18 here.

Make that "LSU is leading by 31 here".

I thought LSU would be good tonight and possibly win, as they had time to heal up, but this is re-goddamn-diculous.

I guess this proves that a very talented D-Line can stop the triple option with enough time to gameplan it.

  3. My team isn't inactive due to me not giving a shit... it's inactive due to me coming to TSM infrequently and, when I do show up, the picks thread usually isn't here.

If the picks thread isn't up on Tuesday or early Wednesday and we've got Thursday games, that leaves some of us in quite a pickle, no?

  6. Mark Sanchez's bad knee got rolled up by an Oregon defender. I think he's done for the year.

Pete Caroll needs to learn to pull his starters out when he's up by 27 near the end of the 3rd quarter.

Jim Tressel learned that one in a painful way when he lost Beanie for nearly a month after leaving him in against a scrub.

Nick Saban learned that one after losing Matt Mauck for the year in 2002 when LSU was stomping the piss out of Florida in The Swamp.

And let's not forget Shula a few years back going for it on fourth against Florida despite being up big and Prothro breaking his leg on the play.

I don't think it quite sunk in with Shula... didn't he lose Brodie Croyle later that year because he fucked up his arm against some scrub I-AA team like Western Carolina? Or was that a different season?

  8. Alabama seems to have problems putting a complete 4 quarters together under Saban.

LSU seemed to have that problem as well under him.

Is this a case of Saban not using rotations of key players enough to keep them fresh throughout the game?

BTW, LSU probably picks up the 2nd slot this week due to Bama's poor 2nd half performance against Kentucky.

  9. Gators up 17-7 in the third, but this has been a really uninspired performance. Is this team putting it on autopilot between big games or what? I expected a much better showing coming off of that embarrassing loss last week.

Maybe the Tebow Train is just slowing down.

If so, that's good news for an LSU defense that's pretty battered right now, with star LB Darry Beckwith just coming back from an injury, DT Ricky Jean-Francois left the MSU game with an injury and didn't return, and DT Charles Alexander out part of the MSU game with an injury.

  10. According to Wiki, the Steelers have RB Justin Vincent (from LSU) on their practice squad right now.

I'm guessing they'll call him up if the veteran RBs on the bonepile right now, like Cedric Benson, look particularly unappealing.

  11. Ouch. I know the Tebow dive is great and all, but man oh man, I think I would have kicked the field goal there.

I think Urban Meyer was trying to pull a Les Miles and get a win by doing something crazy.

    It didn't work.

(Miles continually ran Jacob Hester on 4th down against Florida last year, coming up with the 1st down each time on the way to a close win.)
