Sorry Porter, I must be an idiot for thinking that the Packers are possibly better than the Bears. I mean look at the Bears: injured starting quarterback, no serviceable backup, a running game that comes and goes, no visible passing game, an offense thats fortune relies mostly on a hurt kick returner, a defense thats getting older and more porous by the game. The Bears last six games look winnable, but dream on winning the division over a team that just hung fucking 37 points on you.

Watching NFL games while having breakfast will never get old for us West Coasters. Can't have it any other way.

AFC 1. Titans- Best team in the AFC. My pick for AFC rep in the Super Bowl 2. Jets- I like this team to finish strong down the stretch and lock up the second first round bye. 3. Steelers- Should win their weak division, can't see the Ravens catching up. 4. Broncos- Shame this team will get a home playoff game. Should be out of the playoffs wildcard weekend 5. Colts- They finally come together and get the first wildcard spot via tiebreak over the Patriots 6. Patriots- Sorry, can't buy the Dolphins making the playoffs over the Patriots, especially with three more division games left for the phins. NFC 1. Giants- The Giants should march to the Super Bowl with this field. I don't think anyone could challenge. 2. Carolina- Second Best team in NFC. 3. Arizona- Plays in a weak division, will lose wildcard weekend 4. Packers- Has an easy schedule down the strech plus I don't want VX to get mad at me. 5. Tampa Bay- Should easily get to the divisional playoffs over weak West or North champ. 6. Cowboys- Will somehow make the playoffs much to the chagrin of millions and will win a game this time!

It's funny that you mention Enterprise because I was very close to getting a job there but was swayed when I found out the wage (30,000 is dick in SoCal), and found that failing enterprise site (I'm kinda cautious if a corporation has a hate site dedicated to it and some it sounded like bullshit but if there's smoke there's fire in my book). I don't know much about your situation, because I'm pretty fortunate to have stayed afloat this long, but maybe you can save up some dough and move out of Oklahoma to find a decent journalism job. You already have some experience writing and Enterprise will always be there, so why not. Better to chase your dreams than wonder "what if".

Looking at the Bills remaining games.... @ Chiefs, 49ers at home, Dolphins at home, @ Jets @ Broncos, and Pats at home to end it, they can beat the Chiefs, 49ers and Broncos (the Broncos are frauds in my mind). Thats 8-5, win 2 out of the three remaining divisional games and thats 10-6, which should be enough to win a wild card spot in the AFC. I think Dolphins fade to end the season and Bills beat the Pats at home to clinch the last wild card spot (the Patriots rest the starters as they have the first wild card spot up). The Ravens have to face the rest of the NFC East and the Steelers to end the season which I think should free up a spot for the Bills. Edit: Forgot about the Colts, so if Buffalo can get to the Patriots 9-6, they may have a good shot at the last spot, providing the Colts, Pats and Ravens lose 2 more times.

I'm in the same boat Dama. I've been out of college for about a year without a decent lead. Tommorrow , I have a substitute teaching interview with my local school district and hopefully I get the job because I have been working at getting a job substitute teaching since March. I'm also studying to take the LSAT in December with the hope to go to law school, hopefully out of SoCal for a while. Anyways don't get too down because you are still young and I figure mostly everyone in our situation is struggling to find something they like to do post-grad. Just keep plugging away and don't be afraid go out of the comfort zone once in a while.

So in short, the Bills are one-dimensional. Sounds about right. Still, 5-4 and in playoff contention is still pretty decent for a team like the Bills (As a Raider fan, you kind of forget what meaningful football in November is like). I don't blame you being passionate right now, its exciting to have your team play meaningful games late.

Or maybe the Bills are just a team that overachieved in the beginning of the season and now showing who they really are? It seems to me that the Bills kind of over rely on Marshawn Lynch a bit and Trent Edwards can yet make those big plays just yet.

I know the Bills have pretty mediocre for a while, but you guys make it seem like their the fucking Raiders or Lions. Sheesh.

A little scary towards the end, but a great win for the Lakers tonight, especially on the back end of a back to back. Offense has been a little shaky at times, but this new commitment to defense has added a new wrinkle to this team. Hands down the best team in the West.

I'm leaning on JaMarcus Russell being a bust myself, but its hard for any rookie qb to be good around the pile of shit known as the Raiders offensive line and wideouts. This offense will probably go down as the all time worst ever. I think the Raider offense has scored only 7 or 8 touchdowns in 8 games. Even though I'm a fan, the Raiders are the worst organization is sports right now. No other team is a committed to dysfunction, secrecy and stupidity than the Raiders are. I don't think its about winning anymore. I have never seen a culture so ingrained in losing football in my life.I wish we had the Lions or Cardinals front office right now. Its that bad.

We will just have to agree to disagree then. I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to do all the things and am currently working towards going to D.C for law school. I haven't seen the things my parents have seen, but in my 23 years of life I've seen Los Angeles tear itself apart (and scars and pain are still visible), a whole fucking city wiped off the map, racial profiling and other indignities. Just because racism isn't law anymore doesn't mean attitudes have changed. There was and still is a culture of insecurity, self-loathing and mistrust in the black community, a glass wall that sees the best and the brightest achieve but not being able to reach the heights of others without bones being thrown our way. To me, Obama winning is the affirmation of what parents always told me, but to see it last night was very emotional for me and a lot of others. I know I won't change your mind, but I wanted to give you my perspective at least.

Did you think that in 2004 or even in the beginning of this year, that a black man would be President of the United States? I realize that I didn't have to go through the struggle that my parents, my grandparents and so many others died for to get to this point in time. I can't fathom the indignities, the pain and their bitterness that they still have in their hearts. But it does hit me and a million others that if a black man could become president that I CAN BE WHATEVER I WANT TO BE, SKIN COLOR BE DAMNED. A HUGE barrier has been blown off, and it is still processing with me and I don't it will sink in with me for a long while.

Why do you feel that way? If seeing a man of color, named Barack Hussein Obama, coming from a single parent house, rise really out of nowhere to be the most powerful man in the world, and as black male living in the United States knowing our history and our position now in the United States (it's better for our generation I agree, but there are still everyday struggles that we all bear the burden of) doesn't fill you with pride and the understanding that a black male CAN be president of the United States, than I really pity for you for your lack of understanding why a lot of young black people feel emotional right now.

I'm one of those Raiders fans, and to be honest I just don't care anymore, I really don't. I never thought I'd say that, but the franchise needs radical change and that means putting Al Davis and his yes men out on their ass. I don't like Roger Godell, but I would personally giving a big kiss if he decided for the good of the NFL, that Al Davis was not the owner of the Raiders anymore. Raider fans have taken a lot of shit over the years, but I got some kind of perverse joy out of the Falcons kicking the shit out of this team. I kinda wonder how much lower we can go. It's like a game almost. It's kinda funny in a sad way, but thats the only I can get through watching the games.
