Lower the U.S. drinking age?
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan replied to MFer's topic in Current Events
I'm against it because 1. I don't want to be around bunch of punk ass teenagers who don't know how to hold their booze to the bars and clubs I go to. 2. Its an excuse for colleges to not be liable when some underage kid dies over- drinking or doing something stupid when they drink and 3. If I had to wait until I was 21 to legally buy booze (I also partook in underage drinking), then people who aren't 21 should have to wait too. I agree with Ripper, if 18-20 year olds have access to it already they why lower it? It would just have more drunks on the street. I think "If an 18 year old can go to war and die the they should be able to purchase booze" line is bullshit is because today (unlike the days before the draft) the military is voluntary. Nobody is forcing 18 years olds to go to war, they can willfully do that themselves. Drinking and buying booze is not a right, its a privilege that honestly adults should only have. Also a right that 18 years old did gain from the fallout of the 1960s (voting) is something they barely exercise anyways. Is it really that important that a teenager can't to go out a buy beer? Wait till your fucking 21, whippersnapper. I'm surely not going to boo-hoo the fact that some kid couldn't wait 3 years to go some club or concert. Wait your turn, I say. -
You know after reading this thread, I realize that arguing with Noah Fentz is an exercise in futility. There is no question that Cena moves merchandise, segments that feture him are rountinely the highest rated on RAW, and for the most part is the face of the WWE today. Nobody here is blasting you for disliking Cena. Hell, a good majority of the the regulars here despise him and have for years. Some wrestling fans need to wake up and realize that the Attitude Era is long dead, and the WWE markets to a broad demographic that now includes kids and women. Nothing wrong with that. Whats the hell wrong with making your product appeal to a broader demographic. Kids and women, whether you like it or not, spend money on tickets, merchandise, and watch tv too. This tatic is working (2007 being the profitable year, and not just soley being in-ring) and they will continue to do it until a change in the cultural landscape prompts it. Kids and women are just as much fans and consumers as men are (hell most of us started watching wrestling as kids, was it bad business to appeal to us?) and turning Cena heel at the expense of his core fanbase, to statisfy jaded fans from an era long ago is not only bad business, is just bad common sense. Wrestling is no longer just for teens and men anymore you know.

San Francisco

I'm 22 and I still live in Santa Clarita (not a meth addict, don't ask). There are pretty girls up here, but mostly in Valencia and Saugus (beware of the rich and spolied and bro hoes). Everywhere else is a bust for women. For women, go where VX tells to go, and go into Crenshaw/Baldwin Hills/Ladera Heights/Leimert Park area for the black chicks. Everything VX said about this Valley of the damned is true, don't fucking waste your time anywhere north of the 5 freeway. Who the fuck gave you the advice to go to Palmdale? Palmdale?! The only thing worse that this shitty valley is that one. Don't let fucking Palmdale paint SoCal in any negative light dude. The Valley is a good start off place for newcomers. Just stay south of the five and you'll be alright. -

Well endgame is here: Favre is reinstated by the NFL and will report to Packers camp Favre reinstated -
BB8 had such over the top characters (EVEL Dick, The two catty gay guys, bible thumpers, Jensa and the meathead connection), I could see why people didn't care for the season or like the idea that Dick won by not only brow beating everyone but used his daughter's ability to win comps to his advantage. BB9, for all the flak it gets, was a decent season that proved that building relationships with the houseguests was as important as winning comps. The season is already pretty interesting. Seems like a good mix of the young and old guys. I think and hope the body builder gets the boot for being a whiny bitch. I think the old dude will last until the middle of the game when he finally gets worn down with all the shit that goes down.

I know the four open spots are filled, but if a spot becomes open I would like to join in as Arizona State. Always wanted to participate. -

Just got back from Dodger Stadium, and im glad I went to the game because I almost didn't go! Stadium was electric the whole entire game, which rarely happens in LA now a days. Wanted to stab the idiots trying to start the wave. Didn't they realize a fucking perfect game was being thrown? Blake Dewitt's bare handed throw to first in the seventh was awesome. Wished Kuroda could have closed the deal, but the Dodgers got the win and a share of first in the division. -

I'll answer some of your questions to the best of my knowledge: What kind of health problems do you need to obtain a card? None. However you need a doctor's approval to obtain a perscription for MM. Your family doctor probably isn't going to give you one, so a MM "clinic" will usually refer to a doctor that will. Where do you buy it? A standard Medical Marijuana clinic. How do the standard drug laws affect you? It really varies. I've known people that have been busted by the cops that have a "card" and got off scott free. Others with the card still got arrested and got charged with possesion or slapped with a fine (depends how much you are carrying). Its really buyer beware. Can you only smoke it your own home? Medical Marijuana clinics usually have a lounge were you can smoke to your hearts content. Although its allowed for medical use, marijuana possesion is still against the law in California. Do cops still bust those with a Cannabis Card? Yes. Medical Marijuana clinics are raided and shutdown pretty regulary where I live (Santa Clarita/ San Fernando Valley). Its not a get a jail free card like some believe. It really varies across the state and with local law enforcement. Honestly, a Medical Marijuana is a mixed bag IMO. On the bright side, its technically legal weed and its in a central location where it can be easily found. However, you can still get busted if you have the stuff and your name is in a system were its easily obtainable (for those you care about their privacy). i'd rather just continue to buy from a trusted dealer than go through the hassle. -

Eh, USC and UCLA did fine when the Raiders and Rams were in town and they will thrive when a new team comes into town. If any team were to come to Los Angeles, I rather have the Rams back to be honest because of the history and because of the rivalries. The Jaguars can stay in Jacksonville. I think the NFL and whatever team comes is going to have a tough time regaining the confidence of the fans. We have been through this so many times with the Coliseum Commission, Hollywood Park in Inglewood, the Rose Bowl and now the proposed City of Industry Stadium only to have the rug pulled away from under us the whole. Plus, there are a number of Raider and Ram holdouts from days of yore, plus a growing Charger fanbase coupled with out of towners that root for other teams, that it would be hard for the new team to gain a foot hold quickly. Also, the team will start having to win quickly to gain fan support round these parts. On another note, I wish the developers would take a hint from other NFL cities and build the stadium in downtown Los Angeles and stop going to shitty out of the way burbs like Industry. Edit for 909: I don't think this town or region is as starved for pro football as one might think. Its not going to be so easy to overcome decades long fandom of the two former teams here. Plus, other than those who live close, who wants to (for the people that live in the city and further north) would want to travel to the fuckin Inland Empire to watch an expansion team that nobody really wanted in the first place? -
Where I live (Santa Clarita Valley, north of Los Angeles) gas has finally hit $4.00 a gallon and is not looking back.
-
In SoCal, the highest ive seen is $3.89/gallon. Won't be too long until its hits $4.00/gallon

1. What have we done that you like? The cleaning up of the wrestling folders comes to mind. Injecting some much needed life into this place. 2. What have we done that you wish we hadn't? Nothing really. Modding everyone isn't really going to effect my posting habits too much 3. Is there anything you'd like us to do? To be honest, just keeping this place around is enough for me. 4. Would you invite people here to expand the community? No, only because not alot of people spend a lot time on the internet like I do. 5. Are you optimistic that we're not going to be fucking terrible at this? I've seen Scott Keith, Dames, Mike, and Mole all come and go, so as long as the place doesn't outright die, I don't think it will be tough to maintain this place. 6. Chicken tenders or chicken fingers? Chicken Fingers.

State of the Sports Folder
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in Sports
The sports folder is the best folder bar none at TSM, and has been for a couple of years now. I don't think much tinkering is needed. Unlike most of the board, this folder has done a good job of policing itself. More mods and forum leaders are not really needed at this point. -
Its better than putting the title on someone that nobody gives a shit about. Why should I care that Chavo Guerrero is the ECW champ, when he would be floating around in the IC and US title scences on the other two shows.
-
Just an idea, but why not put the ECW title on a guy like Batista? I know politics and egos will prevail in the end, but a freshly turned heel Batista running roughshod over ECW for like a year, could very well bring credibility that the ECW title sorely lacks. Plus, it gives them time to really develop a long-term draw for ECW.

The WWE Tag Team Division
JaMarcus Russell's #1 Caucasian Fan replied to foleyfanforever88's topic in The WWE Folder
No, but it keeps Cena and Orton occupied without being involved with the WWE championship for a bit. I'd rather that than Triple H vs. Orton and Cena over and over again until he drops the belt. -

I'd like to see Cena and Orton become reluctant tag team partners for a spell. I really liked that 17 on 2 tag team match a couple weeks ago on Raw. -

Worst non-catastrophic injury: I would go with Grant Hill breaking his ankle in the 99 playoffs. he has never been the same after that. Favorite memory of an athlete getting hurt: One of the Gramatica brothers celebrating a field goal and tearing his knee up. That was pretty funny. -

I wouldn't really call Kansas State over USC an "upset". I've felt that USC had been overrated all year. -

I actually like what the Raiders have done in improving their secondary. DeAngelo Hall and Gibril Wilson are solid players. If his attitude is right, DeAngelo Hall is a shutdown corner the Raiders haven't had since Charles Woodsons bolted. I hope they either get Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis in the draft, but I'm sure if Darren McFadden is available we will take him. -
Bad news for Lakers fans: 3 minutes into the games with New Orleans, Pau Gasol sprains his ankle. Damn, first Bynum and now Gasol?! Yikes. http://www.nba.com/nba_news/gasol_injury080314.html
