Not sure, if should go to the General Wrestling Folder or this one, but I am going to No Way Out at the Staples Center. I havent been to a wrestling show since a WWF House Show in 1991 before Wrestlemania 7 (I dont remember when exactly, but I remember it was during that time). I was 7 then, so Im sure that things have changed. I pretty excited, since it is a Smackdown pay per view and the last few Smackdown pay per views have been pretty good. Well what should I expect and what are the do and don'ts of going. Is going to a pay per view event a good idea?

That would most def be a good start, but many of the Raiders problems start and end with the old man that runs the team and the spineless asskissers that make up the Front Office. They all need to go.

Fix the Raiders in Two years: The first thing to do is hope that Al Davis dies. Al Davis is the MAIN reason why this team has not been competitive as they should have been in the last 20 years or so. Fire Art Shell again. Art Shell is a Raider legend and i love him, but he isnt the coach to lead the Raiders back to glory. With Art gone, fire the whole coaching staff top to bottom. Next hire an under the radar college coach. He needs to be young and willing to make changes that pisses people off. Second, get rid of malcontents like Jerry Porter and Randy Moss. We fans want players to want to be Raiders. Next get a GM or somebody that can draft compentently. No more kickers or punters in the first round please. There is so much more but I think I at least got the top of the iceberg.

LT is good, but of the last 20 years is a bit of a strech for me. He hasnt passed Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Eric Dickerson or even Curtis Martin yet. Lets see what he does in the next 5 years or so. Anyways being a die hard and suffering Raiders fan, I would give the MVP nod to LT. He has been tearing us apart since he came into the league in 01. Come to think of it, who do think got the better of the deal in the 2001 Michael Vick sweeptakes, San Diego or Atlanta?

I just finished reading my local newspaper, the Los Angeles Times (A Tribune Company) and Bill Plascke's (sp) latest article regarding his ideas in spicing up the World Series. While I wont discredit some of his ideas (he had some that were okay) the notion of playing a World Series in a neutral warm weather city and calling it BaseballTown USA was beyond retarted. The point being, Bill Plascke bitching about UCLA, the Lakers, Kobe Bryant, Laker Management and his overall holier than though attitude about everything. To the people who watch Around the Horn, Bill Plascke reads exactly how he is on the show. To me, Bill Plaskce is LA's most annoying sportswriter. Agree? Who are the asshole's in your town?

Thanks guys for the suggestions. ill be sure to check these guys out. What do you guys think of jazzmen like Wynton and Branford Marsalisis. Miles Davis seemed to hate on Wynton before his death. Ive heard some of Wyntons stuff and some of Branford's (courtesy of the Do the Right Thing and Mo Better Blues soundtracks, albeit it a VERY small sampling of his work). Are these guys worth looking into further?

I just started really getting into Jazz about a couple of months and im really digging it. I like Miles, Coltrane, Charlie Parker and the Jazz Messangers, Chick Corea and Weather Report. Since I dont have a palette for it yet, I was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestion. Anything from the 50s and 60s and some jazz fusion would be cool/

I always found T.J. Simers stupid but funny. It was a hoot to read the reactions of all the retards writing in to Viewpoint on Saturday mornings. He is like the Phil Hendrie of news print. He was really bad about 6 or 7 years ago, but he has toned down a little. Plascke has really secured his role as most hated journalist in Los Angeles. BTW- to you LA Times readers, dont you think the quality of the paper has gone down since Tribune bought the Times Mirror Company. Tribune has cut a lot of things out. It seems the quality of the paper has gone down.

I thought this topic would be a fun one? Pick a Storied Franchise that is going through hard times and come up with ways to bring it back to promience. Oakland Raiders- This team really started its decline when it moved to Los Angeles in 1982. Yeah thy won Super Bowl 18 in 1983, but they have done jack since. The Raiders were one of the 3 dominant teams of the 1970s along with the Cowboys and Steelers. During the 1970s, I believe, no other team had as many wins, playoff apperances and division titles as the Raiders. Flash forward to 2006. Only 6 playoffs apperances,4 division titles, 1s been AFC Championship and 1 Super Bowl Apperance since 1990. Just win Baby it has not. My Solution- While I'm no GM or owner, the Raiders problems have come directly from the top. Al Davis needs to retire. I understand he was a visionary and an important cog in the NFL (you have to admit to at least this). Al needs to go as well as his outdated vertical passing game philosophy. The NFL has caught up. The Raiders need to start drafting well and not rely on the leagues outcasts. A new stadium would definetely help, since the Alameda Coliseum is a dump. Finally the Raiders need to hire a coach that will have to balls to stand up to Davis, not hire retreads like Art Shell.

Are they as good as ESPN says they are? I mean Marvin Lewis has done a terrific job turning the team around but C'mon they still are the Bungles err Bengals. Are they good enough to be be above .500? Yes. Are they going to win their divsion like Sean Salisbury (sp) says? Not likely. This team has a good young core (the Johnsons and Warrick) but winning their division is unlikely. They will beat San Diego to be 6-5 but I envision a 7-9 finish to 9-7 finish. But who knows? The AFC North is really crappy this year maybe 8-8 will win the divison. But the Bengals in the playoffs? Not this year Sean. What do you think?

I always thought that Doc Rivers was in a no-win situation in Orlando. In his first year he almost took a team of nobodys into the playoffs. He has overachieved in every one of his seasons in Orlando. But compile mangements mismangements of Grant Hill and Doc River's handling McGrady's friends (Brad Miller and Horace Grant) it had to come into an end. Hes probably going to end up with the Bulls or even Miami. Its sad to see a coach as good as Rivers get fired after getting off to a slow start with a core of players that have never played with each other before. If the league was to adopt that policy Phil Jackson would have been fired last year (And I'm a Laker fan).

I hope the Raiders persue the services of Keyshawn Johnson. Can you imagine if they get Brown and Rice to retire and have a deadly tandem of Jerry Porter and Keyshawn? However it would only work if Keyshawn would know his role on the team and work with Callahan and Gannon. By the way. Oakland isnt Keyshawn's hometown. Los Angeles is. His default hometown team would bt the Chargers.

Any lovers of this series? House Party- The Best and funniest of the series. The late, great comic Robin Harris did a great job as pop. Kid (Chris Reid) and Play (Chris Martin) i thought did a good job acting (even though the parts were tailor made for them. The story was solid and I could relate to it in a way. Also John Witherspoon was funny as hell as the neighbor. House Party 2- This movie was okay. It was funny at times. It was a good way to countinue the story. When Robin Harris passed, the series was never the same really. House Party 3- All I can really say that a lot people got a start because of this movie (Chris Tucker, TLC, Immature). It was a good way to end the story. But I thought it was stupid that Kid and Sydney never ened up getting married.

As a black person myself, I found it quite hilarious that people are still complaining about the same tired ass shit. Face it, in this country blacks and whites will never truly see eye to eye. Why?
