I have nothing really much to add about the Cutler/Denver situation, but it's sure nice to have an AFC West team in dysfunction thats not the Raiders.

Fuckin' ugly win for the Lakers vs the Mavs today. The bench this year is fucking brutal. Seems like anybody from the bench they put to start gets better, as Trevor Ariza had his best game of his career. The Lakers sure love those close games. Hey and Boston lost to the Bucks today!

Fidel Castro is ok in my book. He did more to help end apartheid in Namibia and South Africa than any Western Nation could have have ever done.

I still live in LA County, about 30 minutes from the Staples Center, Karc. And I was born and raised in Los Angeles anyways. No need to be an ass , man. I got no beef with you, I like the debate we got going. No bandwagoner here. We'll agree to disagree, I guess. You came off a little outlandish with that statement. Looking at the way the Lakers played the playoff field so far this season, only one team has beat the Lakers at home (played a hell of a game too, funny how most of the Lakers losses have come in the last minutes of a game) and it's likely that team won't make it out of the first round. I don't see a Golden State this year, do you? We'll see in the playoffs, anyways. I will gladly say that I was wrong, if the Lakers lose in first round. By the way, the Lakers are not going to field the same team from last year in the playoffs. They'll have Andrew Bynum this year, which changes the dynamics of the team. Even looking at it objectively, it's hard for me to make a case for any Western Conference team to beat the Lakers. Now the Finals, now's thats a different story...

I love how you give credit to the Spurs for beating the Lakers at their own game, but can't give credit where it's due. Same with the Rockets. Hate to it break to you, but last years playoffs don't matter at this point when it comes to 2009 season. The Lakers do give up a lot of threes, and it's true that most NBA teams do not shot a good percentage. But earlier you said the the regular season is meaningless, so wouldn't that mean that teams would continue to shot poorly from 3 in the playoffs, making it, by your logic, a wash anyway. The Lakers are 15-5 against the WC playoff field at this point. With the the only home loss, mind you, coming from the Hornets. Which flies in the face of your ANY of the eight teams can beat the Lakers in a seven game series. If teams can't beat the Lakers at Staples Center, how can they win without home court? Like you implied, trends can carry over to the playoffs so why wouldn't this trend carry over? With Andrew Bynum coming back in a couple weeks, and in a league thats predicated by matchups, the only team that matches up well with the full Lakers squad is Utah. I don't expect everyone to like to Lakers, but you can at least give credit where credit is due. They have, after all, the best record in the NBA!

Wow, just wow..... Who is going to beat the Lakers in the first round, Karc? Please enlighten me with your deep knowledge of the NBA. All that matters this season is 3-0 against Houston and 2-1 against the Spurs. The Lakers have blown out both teams this season, so your "teams need to use their heads to beat the Lakers" looks pretty stupid. Also, I didn't how teams playing in March dictated how they played in June.

Wow losing by 9 at the half, to a team the Lakers have beat twice already. Karc, have you watched basketball this season? Or are you just one of those bitter Laker haters? And anyways, the Lakers have beat the Celtics, Cavs, Hornets, Nuggets, Mavericks (all good teams) on the road this year (Lakers have most of their home games already so more roadies are coming), so you most definitely wrong on that account. So, Karc. Who are the Lakers going to lose to in the first round? I seriously await your response.

    The 2009 NFL Offseason

With the way free agency and general housekeeping is going, I'm pretty optimistic for 2009 for my Raiders. I don't know if it is all Tom Cable or what, but getting Aso and Lechler back was huge and a shock, cutting the crap, and getting JaMarcus Russell, Javon Walker, Tommy Kelly and Justin Fargas to restructure their deals was an added bonus. The Raiders are finally rebuilding through the draft (which is four years too late in my mind), which is a stark change from giving Randy Moss, LaMont Jordan and Warren Sapp mega deals. Not to mention, we have a glut of youngsters like Johnnie Lee Higgins, Chaz Schilens, Zach Miller and Michael Bush who had their small moments at times. Tom Cable seems like he's into being the Raiders head coach and likes Al, which is more than Lane Kiffin could ever offer. 8-8 won the West last year, and the Chiefs and Broncos have new systems and the Chargers are bound to take fall one of these days. I'm not going not to go overboard and say we'll make the playoffs, but with a head coach with a clear vision for the team, an owner who seems happy with his selection and players giving back money to bring in free agents, it's not hard to feel optimistic.

    The 2009 NFL Offseason

It's been a while since us Raiders fans had anything to celebrate. I'll fucking celebrate a 2nd place finish if it means we win more than 5 games. Baby steps, baby steps.

VX, remember the Lakers are getting Bynum back at the end of the month. So, the Lakers weren't at full strength, technically. Portland can gun it at will it seems. Look out if they end up being a three or four seed. As a Laker fan, I loved seeing the Rose Garden rock like that. Lakers v. Blazers is one of my favorite rivalries. And hopefully with the resurgence of the Blazers, we get a new chapter in the rivalry.

Dwayne Wade emerging as an MVP candidate is cool, but if precedent is followed he be a distant third to the eventual winner (LeBron).

Well thank god I turned off that mess at halftime. And Ariza and Odom might be suspended? Might be good for them both. Luckily, LA still leads the season series 2-1, with one more in the Rose Garden. I don't remember the last time the Lakers won up there. I don't know about anyone else, but I sure as hell want to see Lakers v. Blazers in the playoffs.

    The Oakland A's of Fremont/San Jose/Sacramento/Portland

The Bay Area is in such in a small concentrated space, that you can't help but to have these territories. I'd guess the Giants/49ers territory goes from the City to San Jose (Palo Alto, Santa Clara and Silicon Valley are included) and the Raider/A's territory includes Oakland and the whole East Bay (which includes Fremont all the way up to Richmond). The Warriors, I'm guessing, get the whole Bay Area to themselves. I'm not from the Bay Area, but I've visited there many times. I'm pretty close, right Bay Area TSMers?

    Cowboys release Terrell Owens

TO in Indy makes the most sense I believe. He would put up awesome numbers with Manning, which would keep him happy and most importantly quiet. If I were I team, I would TO give no more than a one year contract. Now if the Raiders did that, I would love to have TO on the team for a year. He's usually on his best behavior his first year on a team anyways.
