WWE seems to have gone back to the Coliseum Video days, where they print the covers in advance, before the show. Below all the matches, they say *card subject to change... same as the Vengeance DVD. Good review, as always.

I did change Taker's Tombstone in SYM, and I suppose that I'll do the same for HCTP. I was just saying that I hate that particular version.
-
I hate this version of the Tombstone... it makes it seem like you can easily escape because Taker isn't holding you... you're holding on, yourself, at that point. HEY Look! Brock's legs go through the Deadman's arms!
-
What do you mean? *been awhile since last playing SYM It's his normal theme, but they cut out the middle portion in order for him to get on the ring apron and do the spitting water pose for the right time in the music. In HCTP, it's in its entirety... like WMXIX.

2003: Angle vs. Benoit (Royal Rumble) 2002: Edge & Mysterio vs. Angle & Benoit (No Mercy) 2001: Austin vs. The Rock (WMX7) 2000: Iron Man: The Rock vs. HHH (Judgment Day) 1999: Ladder: Edge & Christian vs. Hardys (No Mercy) 1998: Ladder: The Rock vs. HHH (Summerslam) 1997: Submission: Austin vs. Bret Hart (WM13) 1996: HBK vs. Mankind (Mind Games) 1995: HBK vs. Jeff Jarrett (IYH2) 1994: Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (WM X) 1993: HBK vs. Marty Jannetty (RAW, 5/93) 1992: Royal Rumble... or Bret Hart vs. Roddy Piper (WMVIII) 1991: Warrior vs. Savage (WMVII) I haven't seen much of any other year before 1991, so I'll stop there. For 1993, I've never seen Flair vs. Perfect or Bret vs. Perfect. It was tough to choose between Bret/Austin and HBK/Undertaker for 1997.

I missed No Way Out because of an unpaid cable bill, and I just didn't want to order Judgment Day, Bad Blood, and Unforgiven. I have every PPV this year (except Unforgiven) on DVD, though, for my collection.

After reading this thread, I decided to bust out Dreamcast and FPD. I've been playing mostly 8 or 6 man tags... awesome stuff.
-
I read that he was actually backstage at Unforgiven visiting friends. Could this mean a possible return for the Lethal Weapon???

Rather than start a brand-new thread, I thought I'd post this in here... After just watching one of the unlockable movies in SYM, I've noticed that I'm actually IN THE MOVIE several times! They show a bunch of clips from the same Smackdown that I went to. When Test is standing in the aisle at one point, you can see me and my sign "Smackdown needs Steve Blackman". Awesomeness all around...
-
Wow... an Inferno and Buried Alive match in the same night? Why not just bust out a Casket match, too. If Shane-Kane does end up as Inferno... what chance does Kane have of winning unless Shane comes out decked in thick, long sleeves. And how can they sell the danger of this match for Kane when he already fell into a huge dumpster of fire? I guess I'm just thinking too logically... As long as WWE puts some Survivor Series tag matches on the card, I'll be happy. You have some great talent to work with on both RAW & Smackdown... Jericho, Christian, Matt Hardy, John Cena, World's Greatest Tag Team, Mysterio, Tajiri, Benoit, and a bunch of others.

What was your favorite Hell In The Cell match?
Aero replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
To be fair, Funk didn't exactly interfere... He was there to check on Foley to add drama to the two big bumps. He only got chokeslammed because he tried to reason with Taker, you could say. -
Depends... if the "bad" etiquette (like O'Haire & Palumbo during Invasion) leads to holding down deserving wrestlers, than it should be removed. But if a wrestler is a legitimate jackass, than he should be punished on occasion... just not COMPLETELY de-pushed.
-
Hell in a Cell question... I don't think it was mentioned in that long FAQ, but how big is the cell? Will it be SYM size or like WMXIX? I'd love to have the gameplay of SYM with the size of WMXIX. Also, any word on weapons in HIAC?

What was your favorite Hell In The Cell match?

Best is HBK-Taker, but besides that... I voted HHH-Cactus. I just watched that last week and it's definitely second best HIAC. I remember having no clue who was going win. If I had to pick, I would've gone with Cactus. Undertaker-Brock is right after. Alot of people shit on that match (not the people in this thread, yet), but it was one hell of a brawl. And as said already, it didn't need any big bump. I love the finish of Brock reversing the Tombstone into the F-5. -
The Better Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle match?
Aero replied to BifEverchad's topic in General Wrestling
Definitely Summerslam... While Unforgiven is a great match, I don't like the ending. The Ankle Lock submission ending was good, but the fact that Austin tapped out with his arms right near the ropes really pissed me off, because it set up the rematch which gave Angle a 2 week title reign. I love the ending with everyone pouring in the ring to celebrate, though. Summerslam is a great match, and IMO, Angle's best WWF match to date. The DQ ending sucks, but it was necessary to keep both Austin & Angle strong. If I had to give star ratings... it would be ****1/2 for Slam, and ***3/4 for Unforgiven. -
Because it was a Smackdown show... and for once, WWE came to Trenton which is a lot closer than East Rutherford. I'm buying tickets for a Smackdown TV taping tommorrow for East Rutherford.

I just had a great match in my career. It was me as my Sting CAW vs. HHH and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat. The match went about 10 min., more or less, and it had a bunch of nearfalls. By the end of the match, anyone could've been pinned. I worked over HHH's legs basically the entire match, so I could finish with the Scorpion Death Lock, but at the same time, Angle locked in the Ankle Lock a few times. Since you can't break submissions, I was forced to knock out the referee each time Angle applied a submission. I won the match when I hit a tornado reverse DDT from the corner on Angle and made HHH submit to the Death Lock. If we have to give star ratings... I'd say maybe ****
-
For the record... I was one of those 1800 fans that attended the house show in Trenton.
-
Well, I'm definitely going to try and score some Rumble tickets.
-
No particular order... 1. Kurt Angle 2. Chris Benoit 3. Chris Jericho 4. Brock Lesnar 5. Eddie Guerrero 6. RVD 7. Kane 8. Booker T 9. Edge 10. Randy Orton
-
That HBK pic is even better than Hurricane's bloody superkick from a few pages back. I just really hope that they have more current tights for Orton as a different costume or something.
-
Well, if we're going by those matches, too... Just yesterday, I was playing Season mode as my Sting CAW. I was facing Rico in the KOTR Final. For whatever reason, I got my special in like 3 seconds (or you might just start with one, for all I know). Rico is dressed in his suit, and I just toss him to the corner, Stinger Splash... Scorpion Death Drop... I pinned him to win. The entire match lasted about 15 seconds.

TSM Poster Tournament II: THE FINAL~!

I actually went to the event (which was ALOT better than Raw, last night) and I'll settle it right here.... The match was about 3 min., which sucked. It was finisher after finisher by all three guys (Angle, Cena, & Lesnar). I think it went... F-5 on Cena, Angle Slam on Brock, F-U on Angle, F-5 on Angle... where Brock pinned Angle as Cena was outside. Post-match, Angle regains his heat by countering Cena's attack into the Ankle Lock where Cena tapped out.
