  1. Preferably mid 97... maybe around June, July LATEST.
  2. I'd like to hear what Triple H 1997 has to say on the subject.
  3. In comparison of other HIAC matches, it stands somewhere in the middle. Everything involving Vince and Foley is just stupid... a hay truck!? While I didn't mind the finish inside with Rock, Angle, and Austin, Undertaker hanging out on top of the cell after throwing Rikishi off was just idiotic. Was he resting or something? (I believe HHH was down outside in the cell, and Rikishi was still dead). For a star rating, it would probably hover around *** depending on who you ask.

    SummerSlam (name some good ones)

1998's one of my favorite shows ever. 2001, as said above, is a solid card from top to bottom with maybe one or two exceptions. I've always liked 1997. Austin-Owen is an awesome match, Bret-Taker is decent, and the HHH-Mankind cage match is fun. I was there live, though, so that may be part of the reason for my love of this show.
  5. Does Shelton's Mama eventually get to win the Tag Titles with Rick Steiner? If he's not available, I'm sure Eugene will be a suitable replacement. And what about the possibility of a "Shelton's Mama on a Pole" match? Seriously... Fuck WWE

    WWE Year End/Best Stuff 2005

Wrestler of the Year: Kurt Angle Feud of the Year: Batista-Eddie (The only other feud that was actually really good was the WM building part of HHH-Batista, but after WM, it just got way too boring and drawn out.) Match of the Year: HBK vs. Shelton Benjamin (Raw) Best Brawler: JBL Best High Flier: Rey Mysterio Best Tag Team: MNM (I can't think of any other legit contenders) Most Underrated: JBL Most Overrated: Muhammad Hassan (I can't believe what I'm reading these days in regards to Hassan being gone. I'm using overrated mostly due to promo work, because I know that basically no one was praising his ring work.) Best Promos: Christian Best PPV: One Night Stand (Enjoyable from top to bottom. Some may say that the 'magic' wore off after further viewings, but I still love it. The only thing stopping WM 21 from being the best were its two weak main events.) Worst PPV: No Way Out (I haven't seen Taboo Tuesday or Backlash, yet) and stolen from the WON... Most disgusting promotional tactic: Anything involving JR's departure.
  7. Oh yeah, I actually forgot about the injury.
  8. I decided to order. Where's Edge on tonight's show? I know he got 'kicked off' of Raw after Taboo Tuesday a few weeks back, but I thought that was just a ploy when Raw invaded Smackdown a few days later while Edge watched on. I'd love to see another elimination match, but a Benjamin-Edge match wouldn't be bad either. I figure MNM vs. Mexicools will be on Heat.

    Smackdown Spoilers from England...

Actually, Benoit-OJ opened up the show for the US Title, but I don't blame you for forgetting. Count me in for wanting Rey to win the title sometime soon. Sure, it would be better to win the WWE Title rather than the World HEAVYWEIGHT Title, but under the circumstances of how messed up SD is right now, I wouldn't care.
  10. I think most are expecting a last minute screwjob so the match goes on the PPV. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Besides, there has to be some reason why Benoit isn't in the main event. They should add some kind of gimmick, though. 2/3 Falls would be fine, I think.

    Xbox 360

I was talking to a security person at the mall where I work tonight about 360's release. Both EB & Gamestop are open at midnight to sell them, and they ended up taking hundreds of reservals each, but of course, apparently each store got around only 46. Due to there literally being a riot when EB got Madden 06 in late, security is TIGHT tonight.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I agree with Robot Bastard. Think of it this way: If you were really the GM, would it be logical for Edge to actually complain to you that he can't win? It's his own fault that he sucks. You can argue that you're supposed to play matches since it's a wrestling game, but this particular mode is supposed to focus on simulation.

The OAO Raw thread for 21st Nov 2005

Okay, so they must have SOMETHING in store for Benjamin if he's in the main event match... right?

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Cole & Tazz are ringside, I believe. I've been using the stamina meters. They haven't been that annoying, and I think you can change the rate of losing it in options. GM Mode has been getting rough. Raw's been ahead of me for a while now with almost 1 million more fans, and I've been low on cash for the past few months. I let the CPU simulate their own cards for a few weeks, but it seems like it never can keep a feud for more than one week. It's gained some fans, but I have to question the decision to put the World Title on Doug Basham from HHH. Meanwhile, there's the interpromotional Buried Alive match at Survivor Series, in Calgary. I put Bret in there, against Angle, but he lost, and now he's apparently disappeared.

    OAO Family Guy/American Dad 11/20

Family Guy was decent. While I loved the part with Peter & Stewie bonding/laughing, I hated anything involving Chris & the Old Man, especially the fantasy part toward the end. I never liked the Peanut Butter Jelly thing back then, and I still hate it today.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

The top rope finishers are very hard to hit due to the CPU always getting up. BTW, Elimination Chambers are horrible this year. First, the camera angles are terrible.. If one person goes outside, then it zooms way out. The people outside are then near impossible to see due to the chambers getting in the way. Secondly, the AI sucks. Maybe it can be edited in options, but the CPU does nothing but randomly climb up the walls, onto the top of the chambers, and then climb back inside.

Hooray, I unlocked DiBiase, WM IX, and the Legends cage by beating the Superstar challenges. DiBiase's cool, but unfortunately, the Million Dollar Dream is one of the submissions where you have to stop the dot in the blue field. I like them okay for some matches, but the computer escapes them almost every time, usually on the first try. The ECW arena is pretty cool, too. Along with WM IX, though, the guard rails look weird because they had to put a thick layer of steel on top of them so they can be similar to the regular black railing. I, like a poster a page or two back, am trying to make Samoa Joe in CAW, but it's apparently impossible to make the correct tights due to there being that one area on the upper leg that you can't put ANYTHING. Really annoying.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

You know you can do challenges on 2 player right? Just face yourself. (It'll save you the trouble of going through a whole match, just to fail). And basically..you just hit R2 when the little symbol gets in the blue area. It gets in that area at like 1 1/2 seconds...just time it right and it'll get done. (It doesn't matter whether you hit R2 or L2). When you hit the button doesn't the icon stop? Or are you just really late all the time...? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know about the 2 player thing. I actually tried that first. Reversing the casket door is during the part where you're supposed to be using the R analog stick, right? That's what I've been trying, but I guess I'll try it the other way for the heck of it.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

The last challenge I have left for Rising Star is to reverse the casket door. I just can't do it. I've been beating the opponent down and then letting him throw me in the casket. It directs you to tap L2 or R2, and the instruction book says only R2... I've tried both but am having zero luck. Any tips? Or should I just keep trying one of those?

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I did it the cheap way... I've also never seen the computer do it, so what you do is put in a second player and have him steal the taunt (should be a long one, just in case), and then you, the first player, interrupt.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

So, I lost the Royal Rumble match after entering at #30 in Season. Then, after I skipped Cena's celebration (maybe I missed a rematch option or something...), I'm in the ring with five other guys in a Battle Royal / Rumble. I couldn't tell because I quickly got double-teamed and thrown out. After apparently two losses, it's Game Over, and I have to start from the beginning. I started GM Mode as Smackdown, and I'm loving it for the most part. For the first month or so, Raw was kicking my ass. It took a while before I figured out how to make title matches from this thread a few pages back. My biggest guys are Cena, HHH, JBL, HBK, Benoit, and Jericho among others, but really only a select few of them are really popular. My most successful feud has been a 7 week feud between Cena and Big Show (feel the excitement), and I'm even on the way to making the Cruiserweight title have a decent feud between Chavo & Tajiri. Meanwhile, HHH & JBL are fighting over the World Title, and Shelton & HBK for the US Title. Some teams I've been using have been La Rez, Benoit & Jericho, and Christian & Masters. The hardest part is stretching out feuds during the months your brand doesn't have a PPV.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I'm loving Season mode so far. I started on Hard difficulty as Shelton Benjamin, and the first thing to do is the Legends tour. I'll spoiler tag the rest just in case... So yeah, I'd call it better than HCTP so far, and I haven't even touched 75% of the game.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

I picked up my copy about an hour ago from Gamestop. So far, I've only played a few regular singles matches and one HIAC. First, having not watched any of IGN's videos due to 56k, the entrances are amazing. All the mannerisms are just perfect (Carlito, especially). I really like the blurring effect of the background and crowd during entrances and post-match celebrations, as well. I fought Hassan with Daivari as his manager... Daivari actually yells in Arabic! It can get a little annoying by the end of the match, though. HIAC matches, while not GREATLY improved, do seem better, particuarly the sound of the actually cage when you do a move on/against it. I was JBL against Flair. We go to the top, and I hit my powerbomb finisher, and I pressed one of the shoulder buttons and got that awesome black and white slow motion video. That brings me to another thing... how much better the crowd reactions are. After that move and actually putting Flair through the cage minutes later, the crowd goes into a frenzy. Commentary still has its flaws, but it's much better, and it actually sounds like Cole & Tazz (didn't hear JR & King, yet) are having a conversation. Bottom line... so far, I'm LOVING this game. I can't wait to dive into Season, GM Mode, and CAW, but it'll most likely have to wait until my day off tommorrow. Today, I have class and work.
