Well, Kane's back next week...
-
It's pointless to try and argue star ratings, so I'll just say that I think the best match of the past five years was probably Eddie-Lesnar, followed by maybe Angle-Benoit from Rumble 03.
-
Kennedy's one of my favorites on SD right now, but yeah, he should definitely win the US Title first and have the lengthy reign. He needs a secondary finisher, though. The Rolling Samoan Drop is too predictable. Anytime his opponent decides to go to the top rope, you know it's coming, especially when it's uncharacteristic of the opponent to go up in the first place (How often does Holly go there these days?)
-
They already have enough trouble dividing a three hour show between current Raw & Smackdown wrestlers, why waste a match on legends... Oh wait, there's a Bob Orton / Piper match rumored. It reminds me of them signing Bischoff vs. Shane for Summerslam 03 when the IC Champ, Cruiserweight Champ, and WWE Tag Team Champs all didn't have a match.

What was the real reasoning behind the IC title 02
Aero replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah, I agree with that. 2003 mostly sucked, but SD from about Aug. to Dec. was actually pretty good. The Angle-Lesnar-Taker match combinations beginning at Summerslam and culminating at No Mercy were good. Meanwhile, Cena was slowly turning face, and the seeds were being planted for Benoit and Eddie's main event runs. The one thing that was unforgiveable to me was not delivering on the blowoff to the Benoit-Lesnar feud. -
First, what was with Kennedy's wheel kick in his match? Did Holly actually block it or did he forget to fall down? It was really awkward. Sharmell sounded like an idiot post-match. I was waiting for Booker to ask, "Why would Benoit let me win?" Also, how many moves did Christian actually connect with in that match? One? Two, tops? He was a complete jobber in there. I think six pages is an all-time PPV thread low.

Well, upon first viewing, I'd say the PPV was underwhelming as a whole, but I was loving Eddie-Batista while it was lasting. The finish was shocking, but it's refreshing to see a big match end with anything other than a finisher. It'll probably only be for this match, but if they did it more often, it gives the element of "anything can end a match" back.

I'll be ordering since I've really been enjoying Smackdown lately. Predictions are... Batista over Eddie Mysterio over JBL Benoit winning the 4-Way Taker over Ortons MNM over LOD & Christy Juvi over Nunzio Lashley over Dean Kennedy over Holly I could see the Casket match going either way, though.

With that said, Raw has one of the worst face sides of a roster I've ever seen right now, at least the way they're booking it. I'd say SD's heel side is decent right now. I think it all depends on how you perceive JBL: Either he's grown on you as a legit main eventer after a year, or he's still Blackjack Bradshaw. I can actually take him seriously, although he shouldn't get another World Title shot for a long time. Like you said, Eddie's getting his shot right now, and the feud should be extended beyond tommorrow's PPV. Randy Orton, once they get him away from Taker, could be great. He's already got the feud with Batista, so it's just a matter of time before it happens. BTW, how you can say Kennedy isn't a joke is beyond me. Sure, I like him as much as most people on the board seem to. And, they seem to be building him up. But his whole gimmick is a joke... unique, but still a joke.

1. No Mercy 2. HCTP 3. Fire Pro D I never got into Fire Pro D as much as I should've. I could never get past the Japanese text. Still an awesome game, though. The next game on the list would probably be WCW Revenge.
-
The year they decide to take LOD out of the game, Animal becomes an active roster member.
-
As much as I'd love for Eddie to win the title again, there is no way they should take the belt off of Batista at this point, especially if they're likely going to just give it back at Survivor Series in a rematch. I think the feud really picked up on last night's SD, and I'm looking forward to No Mercy.
-
Decent Smackdown, this week. I'm actually liking what they're doing with Eddie-Batista, and I really liked the ending. Kennedy calling Hardcore Holly "Sparky Plugg" on commentary was hilarious... "I name my dog Sparky."
-
Well, there IS a rumor going around that HHH knocks you out with a sledgehammer after a match, and when you wake up, you're in the locker room at Caesar's Palace getting ready to have a match. Of course, only with Doink's genius plan are you able to get back into your own time, so in order for him to help you, you must agree to be the second Doink.... BTW, I'm surprised that classic Undertaker isn't taking up a Legends spot. Obviously, that was reserved for Hogan this year.
-
No Vader, but THREE Hogans? That really sucks. Where did that rumor get started, before it hit our board, that is? Everyone else is decent, with the only questionables being JYD and Jimmy Hart... who wants to play as a manager, anyway. His only good use will likely be for manager matches. Ted DiBiase means we get his theme song... hopefully. And I can't wait to unlock WM IX arena.

I was planning on buying some PPVs off of Ebay, mostly the early Survivor Series and Summerslams I don't have. I know that at least the first few Survivor Series Coliseum videos are heavily clipped, so my question is, would it be worth it to buy the Coliseums, or should I hold out for full PPV broadcasts? For the record, these are the PPVs I was looking for. Anyone know which ones are heavily clipped, if at all? Survivor Series 87, 88, 89 Summerslam 88, 89, 90, 91, 92

Charlie Haas. Sure, he wasn't on TV every week, but it was just about always enjoyable to watch when he was. Just before they fired him, he was actually having entertaining matches teaming with Holly, particuarly vs. MNM at Judgment Day and the Most Falls in 15 Minutes from SD. Plus, we never got a Shelton feud, something I wanted since TWGTT was split.
-
So, does anyone actually know who are supposed to faces and heels in the Cruiserweight division anymore? I think Nunzio is heel after cheating to win the title from London way back when. I don't think London is doing the whining gimmick anymore, and apparently he teamed with Spanky on the last Velocity. And I don't have a clue what the Mexicools are supposed to be. Last time they were on Smackdown, I think they were still doing the randomly beat someone up thing (Christian... a heel). Obviously, the given faces are Scotty, Funaki, and I assume Spanky, but lack of TV exposure (Thursdays at least) really makes everyone's roles confusing.

The Orton-Taker feud just won't die. Maybe if Taker loses he can magically turn back into Biker Taker... Don't ask me how to explain these things. If it really is a buried alive match, though, I can't wait for Cole to hype it by constantly saying something like, "Orton doesn't have a chance.. this is Taker's signature match!" I'm REALLY interested in seeing the Raw vs. SD match, though. Having the faces and heels mixed together is part of the fun. I just wish the rest of the card was tag matches as well. They can't be serious about Piper-Orton, right? Especially for one of the big four PPVs where space is already limited enough for each show.

Which Hogan is in the game? Current look or classic look?
-
The first half was good, and the second half sucked. As soon as I saw Horatio at the WU desk, I immediately thought about Bob's review. There's obviously a reason why, but I'm not aware of it, so.. why did Kanye West talk with Mike Meyers on the way to the stage?
-
I'm taking General Psychology for my first year in college. Flipping through my book the other day, there is a random picture of Kevin Nash with Pam Anderson & Jenny McCarthy post-match from WM XI. The caption just explains something about the relationship between boys and girls... Weird.
-
I see pics of Eddie Guerrero below the link for the Trailer, so I assume he's WOTD. First pic has him.. coming out in his lowrider? How long has it been since he's ditched the lowrider? I'll probably edit his entrance, if there's another that's accurate enough.

Good Raw overall. A few things. Most notably, Mero saying that his partner for the intergender match being a 'surprise'. Jacqueline was already included in the Unforgiven results, so was the surprise part just an accident? And I thought it was strange not to see Val Venis, unless he's on Shotgun, which would be normal. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Austin-Vader feud develops for sure. You guys have done an amazing job booking Vader since the beginning of the Cactus feud. Keep up the good work, guys.

Yeah, I've gotten some bad copies from traders before. I'm aware that finding good copies of the PPV broadcasts will be tough, but on a rare occasion, you might find them on Ebay, which often means good quality. You just have to hope that WWE doesn't stop the auction before you can buy.
