The DVD basically ends right after WCW. They talk about how he wanted too much money there, and he left. JR quickly glosses over Warrior's speaking tours, saying that he'd like to be there for one because it would be interesting. I believe DiBiase or someone comments that Warrior speaking is insane or something. They don't mention any of the incidents about his gay remarks or anything, though. The final minutes are basically everyone giving final thoughts. Flair, DiBiase, and Heenan each get one last insult. The final thoughts go to Jericho, and then Christian, who both actually praise him from what I remember, saying he'll always be fondly remembered by the fans basically.

Holy shit at Vader being in! Now I won't have to struggle to try and create his mask in CAW. Why they would never include it is beyond me. The only other must-have legends for me are DiBiase, Perfect, Bret, and maybe Warrior for fun. If by draft lottery they mean the draft from SYM, then I'm for it. It was sort of fun. I especially liked seeing the computer's last few picks... some would be completely random. Something like, "This next pick is a cornerstone for the Raw brand... Maven."

I just bought it today from FYE just for the sake of getting the bonus disc. It was either there or Suncoast Video anyway. I watched this with my brother since we were both Warrior fans way back when. We both loved the part about how Warrior's promos made zero sense and they clip to one after the other. Christian's immitation on WM VI was hilarious. This was actually the first time I've seen any clips of the Halloween Havoc 98 match with Hogan, and it's so bad, it's funny. I knew it was bad, but hearing guys like Bischoff and Hogan among others actually saying it might be one of the worst matches ever was surprising. The fireball of doom was gold, though.

9/25/00 was the first TNN Raw.

In regards to the ratings of everyone, how is Daivari an 80, yet Chavo & Haas, among others, are lower? Daivari was portrayed as nothing but a defenseless manager on TV, with the exception of getting a fluke win over HBK. I saw it says 'subject to change' but still.

The KB I work at didn't have half the list, but I did score some decent games. I only picked up Ratchet & Clank: UYA and Medal of Honor: Frontline. I've never played either, but I remember reading on the board that UYA was amazing.

I wouldn't rule out a four-way... What else is there to do with Christian except give him a US Title shot, which Booker T seems to be getting. I'd be happy if Benoit faces either of those two. Other matches I'd expect are Kennedy vs. someone like Holly, and probably another LOD-MNM match. The rest is sort of hard to predict right now. There will probably be a Cruiserweight Title match, but who does Nunzio face? I'm still unsure whether or not London is a face. The only others might be Scotty or Spanky. Like the US Title, I wouldn't be surprised to see a multiple-man match here.

The Steve Blackman Dream Team shall return... probably to lose.

I see they went the lazy route and gave HBK the same attire as the last game... nevermind that HBK has been wearing the baggy pants since WM. Other than that, he looks great.

PPVs bought that sucked... - KOTR 99 - KOTR 00 - Survivor Series 00 - Summerslam 03 I didn't include KOTR 97 or Royal Rumble 99 on the above list, because at the time, I was entertained by both. PPVs worth the money + Wrestlemania XVII + Summerslam 98 + Wrestlemania XIV + Vengeance 03 + Canadian Stampede + Judgment Day 00 The latter three were all shows that I ordered at the last minute, and all three were great from top to bottom.

Good, so I wasn't the only one. I just kiddingly mentioned that to my brother as soon as HBK hopped on. I got home during Flair-Carlito, so didn't see the first half, but the main event was awesome enough. I just read a report, and I'm disappointed to see no Benjamin... Poor Benjamin.

Are they really going to give Cade & Murdoch the belts ALREADY? I can't stand it when they debut someone and immediately give him/them the belts. I know they're desperate to make the tag division fresh, but come on. I'm gonna predict Hurricane & Rosey to retain. Seriously, Cade & Murdoch already have one win over them.. there's no reason to bury the Heroes anymore.

That has no reason to be on the DVD. Jake was squashed, plain and simple. It's not very good either. Now not including anything from the Savage feud.. that's criminal. Although, Silvervision missed some of the matches from the Taker DVD (Bret match from ONO), so it's possible that other stuff will be on there.

Was there ever a logical explanation for this? I barely watched WCW at the time, so I never knew.
-
I really wish Survivor Series PPVs were still only made up of elimination tags, with maybe only one or two regular singles matches.
-
Definitely keep the Raw results. I think the quality of the PPVs has really picked up since you guys have been doing them, and it allows all the readers to actually keep up with the feuds/stories as they occur.

Haha, wasn't that move botched? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I think it was supposed to be a regular neckbreaker.
-
I loved the Rumble this year, but certain aspects bring it down a few notches for me. Obviously, the botched ending. One particular lack of continuity that annoyed me was there being zero interaction between Eddie Guerrero and Ric Flair, or even Batista. Then, Flair getting to eliminate Benoit was quite anticlimatic given that he was in there from the start. If it was any other main eventer, fine, but Flair was basically nothing more than a joke entrant. Other stuff was fantastic, though... + Raw vs. Smackdown + Hassan's elimination + Edge and Rey Mysterio's performances + London's sick elimination + Angle's parts

I don't know, the tweener role isn't always THAT bad. HHH pulled it off pretty well during the love triangle feud with Angle. You're right about HHH never being a full-blown face, though. He's horrible, especially when he tries to be funny, not including the DX days. (Vengeance 2002 promo about which brand he's going to). Raw is in the shitter right now, plain and simple. Cena, HBK, and Flair to a much lesser extent are the only big faces there, and we know HHH is going to have to feud with one of them. I hope they're not stupid enough to go with HBK again. I won't say that a feud with Flair will be horrible, but it's nothing I'm looking forward to either. The HHH-Cena feud is inevitable, and it'll probably start ASAP, unless they really want to hold off until WM.

Care to elaborate on Angle vs Flair? Because if Flair hadn't bumped bigger then he normally does I'm not so sure people would be listing this one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To elaborate, I went back and watched the match again, this being the third viewing overall (First was live, and a second viewing the next day). After really watching, it definitely wasn't as great as I remember, but I'd still consider it to be one of the more entertaining TV matches of the year. I guess I went a little far to call it a possible MOTY qualifier. It was basically Angle's wrestling vs. Flair's constant cheating, with, like you said, more bumps (belly-to-belly outside and backdrop outside) and just one blown spot (the superplex / super Angle slam attempt). While I still loved watching the match, it definitely didn't hold up as much as I thought. You win.

It's a toss-up for me between HBK-Angle from WM and HBK-Benjamin from RAW. I was going nuts watching them both live, mostly during the last few minutes of each. Other matches that I think could qualify... - Taker vs. Orton (WM) - Money in the Bank (WM) - Benoit vs. Regal (Velocity) - Angle vs. Flair (RAW) I don't want to come out and say that they could be the MOTY, but I remember really liking the HBK-Edge street fight (post-Rumble, when Angle attacked HBK) and Benoit-Edge match (post-WM), both on Raw.

I agree that once Jericho goes, the match definitely takes a turn for the worse, but I'd still rank this Rumble somewhere in my top five. Up until the first 3MW guy comes in around # 15 or 16, it offically gets a little dull. Besides the obvious 'Test eliminating Jericho' gripe, my only other problem was the finish. I didn't mind the hosserific final four as much as others, but Lesnar just lightly threw Taker over and out.. it should have been lightning quick and vicious. Even worse is Taker eliminating Kane seconds earlier. Funniest part of the thread: As everyone goes nuts for Jericho throughout the thread, Angleplex randomly predicts that Test eliminates him.. then the board shuts down for about 20 minutes, and people not watching are greeted with "And Test DID eliminate Jericho".
-
I'm going to try different submissions, but did anyone else have the same problem with holds lasting only about two seconds?
-
Okay, of all the things to be stuck on, I'm stuck on the submission match with Kurt Angle right after the Rumble... I just don't get it. First of all, it's on easy difficulty. I have my submission skill at about 7/10 (maybe even higher), but no matter what submission I use, the meter stays on for about two seconds, tops. Angle's head will be in red, I'll apply a camel clutch, and just before I can pass the blue dot, it's over. Does the submission skill need to be higher or something?
