I loved Spider-Man 2's comic book style recap of the last movie, with awesome music as well.

Battle of the Bands AND Kane vs. Edge? Yikes, this show looks really bad. I can't say I'm looking forward to it, especially if we're getting another Shelton-Carlito match.

That's the kind of discussion that makes the folder so great. I look forward to the "there's a PPV this weekend?" comments. I'm interested in seeing Eddie-Rey and Benoit-Jordan, and the bWo-Mexicools match, which I assume will happen since challenges rarely get blown off. While the secret for Eddie-Rey is actually pretty stupid, what they're doing with it right now is actually kind of interesting. Once the secret is revealed, no good can come from it. Eddie's got to win at this point just to at least get one win under his belt. The blowoff to the feud had better be something big, like a street fight or something. I predict Benoit-Jordan to open, and I actually think Benoit might drag something good out of Jordan. It's a win-lose situation though. If Benoit wins, he's in the mid-card division, but if he loses, he jobs to ORLANDO JORDAN. I guess I want Benoit to win just so Jordan can lose the belt already. He's done absolutely nothing of note with it. Here's my predictions... Batista Benoit Eddie Taker Torrie Christian Animal & Heidenreich bWo (London interference?)

Add Big Show and Snitsky to my list. I don't think he should really count, but I'm sure alot of people might say Steve Blackman sucks. I was ALWAYS a fan of his. Back in the day, I used to be a huge Tatanka fan, as well.

For anyone who cares, IGN has an article up about Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 for the PSP, along with a few screens. Nothing overly interesting in the interview, but it'll basically be the same game as PS2, but each version will have exclusives. The PSP will still have the same roster and a similar season mode. I'll likely be buying it when it comes out. Link

Sycho Sid, definitely. I was a big fan during 1996-1997 especially. If he actually counts, I'd say that I've been starting to become a Cena fan since about after WM.

Davey Boy pictures from SVR... It looks like the same, bad powerslam from the past few games.
-
Yeah, weight classes must be fixed for the upcoming game. In SVR, some light weights included the DUDLEY BOYZ, Flair, HBK, and Christian among others, but Garrison Cade is a heavyweight.

I really think they should just extend Summerslam from 3 to 4 hours. Ever since the brand split PPVs in 2003, it's been hard to equally fit both Raw & Smackdown onto a single 3 hour Summerslam. The Rumble gets everyone in the Rumble match, WM is 4-5 hours each year, and Survivor Series can always just have a few eight man tags. Summerslam 03 had such an overload of feuds that they had to do an Elimination Chamber to cram Raw's three main feuds into one. Guys left off the card were Christian (IC Champ), TWGTT (Tag Team Champs), Rey Mysterio (Cruiserweight Champ, was on Heat), and John Cena among others. Summerslam 04 was nowhere near as difficult to fit everyone on the card. The only person I can really think of that was left off was RVD. This year, if that's the final card, Christian, Booker T, MNM, London, Mexicools, and Hurricane & Rosey are all missing. But, that ONE LAST Hogan match must happen. As for the two title matches, I predict that one title will change hands mid-show, and the other champion will retain to end the show and send the fans home happy. It can realistically go either way, but I'll pick Jericho to win the title, and for Batista to retain. Sure, Hassan is creating alot of controversy and is a really hated heel, but he doesn't deserve a world title run. He really just bores me to tears, so far.

Is Kane really THAT important that he can't miss a PPV? No one wants a tag match. There's no reason why such a big match like Hardy-Edge shouldn't be on the second biggest show of the year. WWE writing team: (April) "The draft lottery is going shake things up!" (August) "We need a feud for Kurt Angle... how about Big Show?" Seriously, didn't we see enough of this feud between October and January? I have no real problems with the rest of the card other than just not being interested in HBK-Hogan, Batista-Hassan, or Shelton-Carlito. It's a good thing they brought Christian to Smackdown for that push.. oh wait.

I just started a season in HCTP with Kevin Nash yesterday. When I wasn't involved in any stories for two weeks, I had to ask for a title shot, so Steph let me go for the Tag Titles and choose a partner (that's right Lawler, no wacky tag partner who eats all the pizza for me!). I chose the Ultimo Dragon for the hell of it, and we beat Big Show & A-Train at Backlash to win the titles. For Judgment Day, Vince signed a match between us the TWGTT, but Ultimo got himself suspended when he attacked Vince with a chair. Shelton gave me a chance to lift the suspension if I beat him, but I accidentally got DQ'd, meaning that the Judgment Day title defense would be a handicap match. Since the TWGTT can't lift the big hoss, Nash, it wasn't very hard at all despite being on SD difficulty, so Nash retained. WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar WWE U.S. Champion: Kurt Angle WWE Tag Team Champions: Kevin Nash & Ultimo Dragon WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Eddie Guerrero World Heavyweight Champion: Steve Austin WWE IC Champion: Christian World Tag Team Champions: Booker T & Goldust WWE Hardcore Champion: RVD

Not really old school, but what was Kevin Nash's last appearance in WWE? I want to say the Elimination Chamber at Summerslam 03, but I'm not sure.
-
Can't argue that. Me and my brother's "Benoit is going to WM XX" sign at Royal Rumble 04 not only got on TV for Benoit's entrance, but it made it into the WM XX video package for the 3-way.

I've been playing HCTP lately, and compared to SVR, somethings will hopefully be changed. Like someone said earlier, Last Man Standing matches in HCTP can go on forever, especially when you vs. someone like Goldberg or Lesnar. Meanwhile in SVR, it often only takes one finisher, and the ref's count is twice as fast. Also, just like the complaint above, whenever Goldberg hits the Jackhammer on me, since it's a pinning move, I never stay down for the count. That's annoying. But anyway, I'm honestly having a blast playing Last Man Standing in HCTP on SD difficulty, so I really hope they change it back to HCTP style in the upcoming game. Also, the Elimination Chamber still needs to be tweaked. The AI sucks, always jumping off the top of the chambers and killing himself. My biggest gripe is that everything outside the chamber does too much damage. You can get an opponent down to orange in seconds by throwing them into the glass or chains, not to mention that just tossing them over the top rope and to the outside floor does the same max damage as being thrown off the top of HIAC. I think they should make it a bit harder to break through the glass, too. At least make it take maybe two hits like the top of the HIAC.

"Lita is a Dumas", thought of by someone on the board, and held up by another at Summerslam 04, getting directly on camera behind Lita for almost a solid 30 seconds. "Rock fears Paper" I never saw it, but I thought the "Nothing good happens to JR here" in Oklahoma was hilarious.

Here's a list of legends I'd love to see. The rest wouldn't really matter to me. I would actually choose a complete current roster over any legends at all, though. About half of the list is possible, but some not so likely. Hogan Warrior Savage Bret Austin DiBiase Mr. Perfect Others that I wouldn't mind seeing are maybe Terry Funk, Steamboat, Mick Foley (with all three costumes... not likely), and maybe Neidhart just to be able to use the Hart Foundation.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors was hardly a bad game. It's one of my favorite SNES games. I fear the doll factories.
-
I've only actually watched the credits once. Wasn't there a scene where they had about 20 Ric Flairs flopping at once?

It sounds great, but I don't want to get my hopes up. They promise an amazing season mode each year. So far, HCTP was the only one to really deliver for me, but it had its flaws of course. Three levels of blood sounds really cool. I assume the first level is just a minor cut on the head, nose, or eye, then the second is about the same as the last game, and third should be an insane blade job ala Eddie Guerrero or Cena at the past two Judgment Days. One feature that would be cool would be that if the blood got that severe, you could leave blood stains all over the mat. Nothing that's completely necessary by any means, but it would be awesome. Bar Room Brawls. They could definitely be fun, but how many times do we even see them in WWE? I remember the APA having a series of unofficial brawls in 2000 and then there was the official one at Vengeance 03. It's not exactly necessary. If they're going through the trouble to make these brawls and french maid matches, please just let us have real 30-60 minute iron man matches and be able to edit ring outs for submission matches and what not. What's the fully customizable 3D locker room? It sounds kind of like a create-a-backstage area similar to create-a-park in the Tony Hawk series, which could be really interesting, but they'd have to allow quite a variety of weapons and interactive pieces to be available to use, not just lockers, chairs, and a box to throw your opponent into.

Any at all momentum I think was killed last week on Smackdown when the reluctant team of Eddie & Rey had them beat in minutes. Sure, Eddie's a former champion and Rey is Rey, but MNM were completely jobbed out until Eddie turned on Rey.
-
GAB isn't looking very appealing at all. The only match I want to see is Benoit-Jordan, because I actually think it'll be decent for some reason, or because I want to see Jordan finally lose the US Title. Since Eddie-Rey will most likely happen, I guess I'd want to see that, but really only if it's the blowoff.
-
I can't wait to see Benoit-Regal, but seriously.. Velocity? Mexicools vs. Cruiserweight Division sounds good, and the rest not so much. I really do hate getting JBL opponent at the next PPV vs. Orlando Jordan main events leading up to each PPV. Seriously, do Heidenreich & Animal have a chance at winning the titles? I can see MNM losing at the PPV and then having them win the belts back at the next SD.

The OAO Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Thread
Aero replied to SuperJerk's topic in Television & Film
I've never read the book, so would anyone mind saying how each kid got knocked off in it? I read in here that Veruca and Violet's were different than the movie, so I'm just curious. As for Depp as Wonka, he definitely doesn't look right to me. He looks too young, but I'm used to Wilder's older version. I'm sure he'll probably have a good performance as usual, though. I've heard the idea of having Christopher Walken as Wonka a few times, also. I don't know if he'd be perfect, but I'd like to see him over Depp. -
So I beat Arcade's Revenge, today. The levels after you beat everyone's first set are rediculously easy. You even get to walk around as Storm instead of being in water. You use Spider-Man for the final boss fight, which is easier than just about any of the bosses from the other levels. The ending is really lame.
-
Well, Kane vs. Edge is apparently going to happen. Hopefully it'll be the blowoff. Then there's more diva crap and the possibility of a Matt Hardy return... it can't be worse than last week's Raw, I suppose.
