    Bad Games That You Love

Most Simpson games are bad, but I remember renting Virtual Bart occasionally way back when. The tomato-throwing level was fun. Nothing will ever top the Arcade game, and luckily, they STILL have it at my movie theater.

The One and Only Batman Begins thread

I like the Begins Batmobile best, mainly because it seems a little more realistic. Not including that, the first movie's was fine, and they got worse each time after. I was never a fan of any of the other bat vehicles, which would be the Batjet and Batskiboat. However, at least the Batjet from the first movie brings out Joker's classic reaction to the device for capturing the balloons ("Why didn't you tell me he had one of those?" or something like that). Bring back the Bat-ladder.

    rate these matches for me

Austin vs. Savio in the strap match from Beware of Dog is worth going out of your way to see. It's one of the better strap matches I've seen in the WWF with a good use of psychology throughout. They were given plenty of time (20 minutes?). It's the usual strap match finish, except with a twist in storyline terms. I haven't seen it in a long time, but I've seen a rating of about **** floating around in a few places. It's probably Austin's best WWF match of 1996 except for Survivor Series vs. Bret, unless I'm forgetting something.

The One and Only Batman Begins thread

I finally saw it tonight, and all I can say is wow. Now, I'm someone who grew up on Marvel comics and almost never DC. I was all about Spider-Man and X-Men. Sure, I watched all the Batman movies and loved them, and I even watched the animated series time to time, but Batman could never touch Spider-Man or X-Men in my eyes. So, I saw it tonight. I had heard all the great reviews and still thought that I would end up liking Spider-Man 2 or X2 more simply because of my love for Marvel, but I was dead wrong. Begins is easily the best superhero movie out, period. I wasn't bored for a second, and the plot was quite good, too. Ra's was one of the few villains I knew absolutely nothing about. All I ever heard was that he trained Batman or something. One of my favorite moments of the movie was just when Bruce met him at his party. ("How is it pronounced... Ra's Al Ghul?" then Bruce's surprised look... awesome). Count me in as another person who hopes that he escaped death from the train, because I'd love to see him in future movies. My one complaint would be Scarecrow getting knocked off by Rachel just like that, but he IS still out there like Gordon said, so it's forgiveable.
  5. I think Haas is a fine singles wrestler right now. He just needs to be given a storyline to make the fans actually care about him. They could've brought him to Raw this past Monday and simply had Bischoff make a match between TWGTT and another team. From there, just have Haas go the jealous route and do a vicious beatdown on Benjamin to set up a feud. It would make sense for him to be jealous since while Benjamin was having singles success on Raw (wins over HHH, IC Title, etc.), Haas was teaming with Rico and Hardcore Holly and doing ultimately nothing. Have him win some mid-card matches leading up to Summerslam where they have a match for the IC Title where Haas is the one to cleanly beat Shelton. But, that's not happening anytime soon.

    Early Smackdown Spoilers

So, based on the new spoilers, which make much more sense, no Charlie Haas adventures at the post office?
  7. I think the whole idea of a Cena-Hassan match was dumb to begin with. We've already been over how they wasted Hassan's big loss on Cena, who doesn't need it since he's already over. The other option was to do a no contest or DQ ending. I guess the best option would have been to have either Jericho or Christian randomly run in and attack Cena, but we've seen them protect Hassan like that too many times this year. It really made no sense at all.

    Early Smackdown Spoilers

While it's disappointing that Benoit is already on Velocity, I am curious to see a match against Akio. Doesn't sound like it lasted very long, but there's apparently "pretty good stuff".

What? Looks like a decent show at best. I'm interested in seeing Eddie-Rey, and that's about it.

    WWE Vengeance Card

I'm really interested in seeing the 3-way, and that's about it. I think Cena is most likely winning, but there's an outside chance that either Jericho & Christian might win and take the title to SD. It really just depends on whether or not Batista gets sent to SD tonight. If he does, that means SD's title situation is fixed and there's no need for the WWE Title to return. If he doesn't, SD will need fixing, and either Jericho or Christian, both of whom are rumored to be going to SD, have a shot. I have mild interest in Angle-HBK, but not enough to buy the PPV. It should be good. While most are predicting HBK to get his job back, I'll go the other way and pick Angle for no particular reason other than to keep him a strong heel on Raw. HIAC might be decent. There will be a ton of blood, but I can't see them escaping to do a big bump or anything. Hopefully it'll only be around the 20-25 minute mark and not the "epic" 35+. I'm sick of this feud, so this had seriously better be the blow-off. My picks: Batista over HHH Angle over HBK Carlito over Benjamin Cena over Christian & Jericho Christy over Victoria by DQ Kane over Edge
  12. Since he's been such a chump in the feud, what he needs is to win the match at the PPV, not get a nonsensical win over Hassan.
  13. I haven't been in the thread all night, so I don't know what anyone else thought, but I thought Raw was horrible tonight... Carlito vs. Shelton. I don't have a problem with Carlito coming to Raw, although I probably would've kept him on SD. I can't be the only one who assumed that it was going to be Haas when Shelton came out. For the actual match, what horrible booking. First of all, whose bright idea was it for Shelton to job the IC Title in a meaningless Raw match after holding it so long? Then there's the "heel cheats by holding onto the rope" finish, which has been overdone to death this year. I wouldn't have a problem with Carlito as champion had there actually been a feud or some kind of build, but to take the title off of Shelton just like that was rediculous. And for what? To just give him a match at the PPV. Even if the plan is for Shelton to win it back, what would be the point of having him lose when he could've just held onto it for his already lengthy reign? Unless they're planning for Shelton to feud for the World Title, this whole thing was rediculous. The wedding was just as the fans were chanting: boring. I thought Snitsky's poem was funny though. The Edge-Kane feud is one of the most unappealing feuds I can remember in recent years, not only because of the bad story involved with Lita, but what's appealing about a series of Kane-Edge matches? Cena vs. Hassan. Why? Cena's already insanely over. Did he really need to be the one to finally pin Hassan? Maybe I'm biased, but there was no doubt in my mind that that was being reserved for Shelton at Vengeance, but that feud is officially over now, obviously. And what was that, 3 minutes? He's been undefeated for 6 months for that? That was being built up to give the rub to someone who could actually take advantage. Didn't have a problem with the main event. I did think it was really stupid of them to waste a Batista-Angle match on Raw when it could be at Summerslam or a another PPV, so at least they wisely changed that.

    Games you HEARD were great...

No interest at all. I'm not a fan of the horror genre, whether it be video games or movies. As much of a Zelda mark as I am, I've also never played the second one.

    Games you HEARD were great...

For Final Fantasy X, I've seen footage from the commercials, but I've never actually played it. The only one I ever tried was VII, and I just couldn't get into it. Some other games... Halo 2 Silent Hill (all of them) Resident Evil (all of them) Conker's Bad Fur Day Ratchet & Clank (all of them) Soul Calibur 2

The Draft - What is Next??

With huge picks like Cena, Angle, Benoit, & Orton, it's almost like the standard has been set too high. When someone like say, Charlie Haas, is picked, the average fan won't really care. That said, my picks for this week would be Batista and Haas. Batista for the reasons above and to fix SD's title situation, and Haas just because I want a feud with Shelton.

    Family Guy 6/19

Awesome episode tonight. I laughed out loud for Peter Weller getting shot and parts with the fire truck, especially when the ambulences needed to wait their turn.
  19. Wow, I forgot about the X-Men reset. Easily the most evil idea for a game, ever. I've heard that it doesn't even work 100% of the time.
  20. Another one I just thought of... In Super Mario 3, there was that castle in the 8th world with a door every few steps. It might as well have been a maze. I was stuck on that level for a LONG time. Today, I have a pretty good idea of what to do.. I think it involves grabbing the P-block toward the end and going in the secret door furthest to the right?
  21. In Zelda: LTTP, me and my two brothers couldn't figure out how to beat the Wizard the first time after getting the Master Sword. Yes, it's really easy just deflecting his blasts, but I suppose we missed that when we were likely trying to just dodge them. My uncle had to show us how it was done. We were all young, though. Now, in Zelda 64, the Water Temple had me stuck for a few days on a few different things. Firstly, I was having way too much trouble with Dark Link, barely being able to actually land a hit on him. I remember the fight being next to impossible the first time, but when I replayed it a few months ago, it was surprisingly easy. Secondly, fixing all the water levels the proper way was confusing. I had the same problem playing it recently. Like many... I fear the Water Temple.

    New skins available

Seconded... I like the default one best, although Ultimate Blue is pretty nice. If I was Canadian, I might choose Canada.
  23. Angle beating HBK, 100% clean was the biggest surprise, mainly due to Smackdown going 3-0 over Raw. As said above, once Taker won, I also thought Angle didn't have a chance in hell. Had I known that Booker T won the battle royal earlier, it would have lessened Angle's chances even more. Usually WWE seems to treat Raw > Smackdown. JBL-Cena, overall, was surprising, too. While I did actually pick Cena to win, the match was surprisingly uneventful. I was expecting a 20 minute brawl with blood and an overbooked finish of Cena fighting off the entire Cabinet to win... not a 10 minute average match with Cena casually hitting an FU to win. With that one FU, I sat there reassuring myself that it wouldn't take only ONE FU to end JBL's 8 month reign, but it did.

One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread

I'm going to try and order the replay. Aside from the bleeps throughout tonight's show, would there be anymore censoring or anything?
