Wawa because of being the cheapest. If I desparately need gas, though, I go to the first place I see.

Well, only a single match and Bra & Panties of all gimmick matches is disappointing for online, but I don't mind it too much. IGN also has RVD, Rico, and Batista up now. RVD at least has his "One of a Kind" theme this time, but oddly, Batista comes out to Evolution instead of his own. It was in HCTP, for sure. Licensing issues, perhaps?

When I thought that the rumor about Kane leaving might have been true, I thought Snitsky would win the match on Raw, which I assumed would happen going into Raw. Obviously, Snitsky just bloodied Kane.. no match. I'd say Kane has to win at the PPV to get some sort of revenge. Although, maybe him losing both his baby and match to Snitsky is WWE's way of basically "giving Kane his". Other than a few matches with Matt Hardy, Kane, the original heel in the baby storyline (which started April 19, 2004... LONG story), hasn't had too many losses. But seriously, how can Kane go from having near wins against the likes of Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels to losing to a jobber on PPV?

I voted yes, just as long as the tournament is done properly on a normal basis. I don't mind trying to push some new stars to the main event as some of them do work (Brock Lesnar, Steve Austin), but WWE should never push guys like Mabel or Billy Gunn to the moon ever again. I can live without KOTR though. I also think a KOTR win should have some significence other than just an accomplishment to be listed on Tales of the Tape. The winner should automatically get a title shot at the next PPV or on TV.

No Mercy PPV.. Looks Good/Bad?.. Discuss It Here.
Aero replied to natey2k4's topic in The WWE Folder
Here's how it was in my section. In the beginning, I was constantly trying to start "Let's Go London" chants. There was at least one loud one sometime in the match, but most of the time, not too many got behind the chant. There was a father and son next to me who were hardcore Kidman fans (sounds crazy, I know), who constantly tried to scream, "Let's go Billy/Kidman". Alot of people around me just knew that Kidman would do the SSP, especially after he backed down the first time. Everyone loved London's SSP, and when Kidman did it and won, everyone went nuts. When he got on the mic, everyone was chanting, "One more time" (I don't know if that's hearable on TV). By the end of the match, it seemed like the crowd hated London. -

I was surprised that Book-Cena was even given such late placement on the card. They actually made it seem important, giving both guys the pre-match walk to the curtain, along with a decent video package. Match was pretty average, but Cena is rediculously over no matter what. Personally, I was hoping for Booker to win, because I find Cena to be way too bland lately, and his raps suck as a face. I didn't dare try and cheer against every other person in the arena, though, so I just sat back for that match. -

***1/2? Maybe I was just too depressed by seeing Heidenreich earlier. Plus, with most of the match taking place outside the ring, it was hard to watch anything but the titantron. I guess I'll have to rewatch when it's out on DVD. -

I just got back from the PPV, and overall, I would say that I was pleased and had a great time, but the main event was just a HUGE let-down. Here's a quick rundown. Before the doors opened to the arena, me and my brother were just hanging out on a sidewalk near the doors, away from the majority of the crowd. Some random guy is walking a dog. We thought it was Fifi, and when Rene Dupree came out later, it was confirmed. We saw Fifi up close! You can imagine how special I feel. My seats were on the floor, in the aisle section opposite of where the hearse was later in the night. Me and my brother were in the very last row, which isn't actually that far, and seats 3 and 4, which was away from the actual aisle. There wasn't even a railing behind our chairs, just the tech area with security and one of the big cranes with a camera. The seats were amazing and very close to the pyro, especially Booker T's. As a result, we definitely got some good photos. It seemed like a really hot crowd in the arena, but I don't know how it came out on TV. Here's my ratings for the matches, although they're all probably off more or less. Eddie-Luther: **1/4 Spike-Nunzio: **1/2 Kidman-London: ***1/4 Tag Titles: **1/2 Angle-Show: ** Cena-Booker T: **1/4 Six-Man Tag: *1/4 JBL-Taker: * Here's the funniest part of the night. From my seats, you can get a perfect view of the back of the hearse, even though it's on the other side of the entrance. About a minute into the JBL-Taker match, the guy next to me says quietly, "There's someone in the hearse." I turn around, and there's apparently some light in there. What do I see? Some big guy with bleach-blonde hair. I immediately yell, "Heidenreich! Heidenreich! Heidenreich's in the hearse!", causing just about everyone in my section to turn around. Everyone seems to realize that there is no chance that Taker is going to win, and thus, the main event is ruined for everyone in our section, as everyone realizes what's going to happen. Post-show, JBL gets on the mic and just rips into NJ and uses some of his insults from his internet column a few months back, like, "You don't like me because I was the one who beat you up in school." Nothing special at all. -
Cool concept... Hulk Hogan 1. vs. Ultimate Warrior (VI) 2. vs. Randy Savage (V) 3. vs. The Rock (X8) 4. vs. Sgt. WM XX, Vengeance 2003, WM XIX, Royal Rumble 2003, and Summerslam 2002. WM XX definitely could've lost 1-2 hours, but there were some really good matches. I loved both Vengeance 2003, WM XIX, and Summerslam 2002 from top to bottom. I was at the 2004 Rumble, and while the undercard wasn't very good, the Rumble Match is my favorite. And, the 2003 Rumble had a really good Rumble, I thought, and the amazing Angle-Benoit match. I thought that show was worth the money.

Mid-carder winning the Royal Rumble??
Aero replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
I definitely agree with you about an HHH-Orton WM main event not needing the Rumble win. They just need to make sure they don't overdo the HHH-Orton match between now and then if they really want the match to be big. If you're actually serious about Rey winning, then I think you're insane. As long as the winner goes to WM rule is still going, no mid-carder like Rey will ever win the Rumble. Here's how I see it. Undertaker wins the title tommorrow night, and holds it until WM. John Cena wins the Rumble and, and at WM, is the one to FINALLY beat Undertaker and end the WM streak. Many people say to keep Taker's WM streak perfect, but at this point, all of his matches are getting too anti-climatic. Think about it though. Cena is likely to lose to Booker tommorrow because he's shooting his movie, so after fighting for the US Title since July and failing to regain it, why should he go back to it? -
For IGN Insiders, they have a No Mercy PPV up with Booker T vs. Cena, Big Show vs. Angle, and JBL vs. Taker. Everyone has their entrances, so I watched JBL's, and no limo. He just walks down to the ring with his smiling face, waving, and wearing his hat and jacket. It's not horrible, but the limo would've rocked.
-
IGN has the Dudleys, Stacy Keibler, and John Cena up. Same generic music for Stacy, but the Dudleys have the current theme, unlike the last game. For Cena's entrance, they have him hang out on the stage to rap on the mic, but you don't actually hear him talk. It is better off that way, though. In addition to the FU from HCTP, he has a better, reanimated FU, as well. He does the "You can't see me" wave to their face and then does it. Personally, I'm waiting for JBL's entrance. I'm curious to see how they handle the limo and all.

It seems weird that RVD has a different tag team partner heading into a tag team title match at a PPV. It looks like a decent show, and probably better than Raw. Looks like new No Mercy matches: Dudleys & Dawn vs. Haas, Rico, & Jackie Nunzio vs. Spike

I'm going there, and I'll probably have a good time regardless. It does look like the best SD PPV since Wrestlemania, and I'm looking forward to it, particuarly Angle-Show and London-Kidman. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be a stand-out show glancing at the card, but it looks like it has the potential to be much better than Judgment Day or GAB. BTW, JBL vs. Taker is actually a Last Ride match. I'm guessing there will be a Dudleys vs. Haas & Rico added, and either a Spike title defense or Heidenreich squash, as well. Nunzio seems like the right guy for the Spike match, because there is no one else. -
Keep in mind that these are international Heat spoilers. No Mercy is on Sunday.

Which WWE PPV will you be getting or watching in
Aero replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
I'm going to No Mercy, and I don't plan on ordering Taboo Tuesday. No Mercy looks decent for a SD PPV, and I usually have a good time at live events no matter what, so I'm looking forward to it. -
I wasn't even aware there was a rumor, but any speculation on the costume? I'm going with either Cactus Jack or Dude Love costune for Mankind, which I would like, especially if they put in both of their themes.
-
I emailed Comcast in my area about it, and they said that they have no info on it yet, but my request for 24-7 HAS been entered into the database. I'm probably wrong, but I thought I remembered reading on WWE.com or somewhere that it would be only $10-15 a month, which isn't that bad.

I agree that Shadows of the Empire was definitely a great game, but I the first two Rogue Squadrons for N64 and GC were both really good, too. I never played the third.

IGN has Eddie Guerrero and Hardcore Holly up, now. Obviously, Holly isn't anything special, but Eddie DOES have the lowrider, making for a perfect entrance. Here's the link... IGN Videos

What a shame. RIP Boss Man. In rememberence of him, I'll have to read 100 Reasons why Boss Man is better than Goldberg soon.
-
IGN has their wrestler of the day videos for Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, HBK, and Ric Flair up now. I'd say that all of their entrances are pretty much perfect, except Flair has his other music from 1992, which I suppose is better than just the option of Evolution. HBK's entrance is perfect and up to date this time around. Just doesn't seem like there's as much anticipation for this game like last year's.

1996 for me. I basically love the entire card, except the last tag match with Yokozuna, Fake Razor & Diesel, and everyone else. Yes, I even like the tag match with Rock, HHH, etc. Second probably goes to either 1995 or 2002. I've never seen any of the 80's shows, though.
