    On cubs.com and 720 pre/postgame stuff, I cannot escape the "we've got a smallball team! We rely on speed and fundamentals! Smallballsmallballsmallball!"

     

    Today we tied with a two-run Barrett homer and won with a Lee solo. Yesterday we put up runs with the homer. On Wednesday the rally that could've been was fueled by three two-run homers. We were hitting multi-run home runs on Opening Day. What the hell are they talking about, smallball and fundamentals? As long as Lee/Barrett/Ramirez are in the lineup, we're not gonna rely on smallball, and as long as Dusty Baker manages, we're not gonna have good fundamentals.

     

    I'm not against speed--if we beat out more groundballs and stuff that's great--but stolen bases are still not worth it, and the quickest way around is with one swing of the bat. The fundamental that I'd like to see improve is still plate discipline. Even with Patterson gone, I'm still seeing/hearing too many short at-bats. Matt Murton has appeared to be the best at prolonging his appearances so far.

     

    I'm still waiting for Jacque Jones to do anything, by the way.

    Yankees might be on their way to starting the season 1-5. Now I know this won't last, but its fun to laugh at for the moment.

    Jingus is the one poster here I'm afraid of, or rather, afraid of becoming. When I become some fat creepy mope living in his parents' basement who has squandered all his limitless intellectual potential and regressed to just some Robitussin-swilling lowlife on the fringe of society, that's it for me, I'm outta here. Judging by the fact that I have an unadulterated post count in the 17,000s, I'm already traveling down that road. If I don't right this ship, I'm hopeless. What a fucking mess.

    Like Slayer was saying way earlier, like last year when you guys pulled the sniper-ban on MikeSC, usually you can go back and see the paper trail, so to speak, as to what led to him getting banned. SPORTS ANALOGY: it's sort of like baseball when a manager gets thrown out of a game. You see some shit get started, and there's a bunch of fighting, then he crosses the line, and that's that. You can actually see that he caused a problem this time. This is just pointing to Earl Weaver in the dugout and saying "you're gone" because he probably would've protested Brooks Robinson getting tagged out at second

    We're almost done. Keep in mind that these bannings aren't always sudden but rather someone posts, confer, decision, and on a message board all the confirmations take time. It's not like we're all in a lair hatching schemes somewhere in the New Mexico desert in an underground military installation. :)

     

    AS was given too much of a chance, as I wanted him out from day 1 but we were going to see how he did when baseball season pulled around. The posts in Cena-related threads did him in.

     

    Anyone feel anyone is worth banning, and why? We're mainly targetting WWE folder, but feel free to offer up some heads.

    You idiot. None of these people actually DID anything. It's not that I'm going to bat for UseTheSledgehammerUh here, but come on. Don't you guys remember the shitstorm from....y'know, last April, when the board, regardless of like/dislike of poster in question, pretty much agreed that you can't just ban people out of the blue? Oh, and like I said before, why do you guys have it in for Anglesault, who was causing NO problems on the scale of the Weaver/Milton shit, then banned without reason, while Prince Paul is still around posting shit? I've never seen that Rrssh guy break any rules (unless liking the 'Nucks is one), and USTU, though I feel he's a stupid meathead fratboy, seems to know his shit somewhat.

     

    If you're doing this to make the WWE folder better, you're dealin' with a lost fucking cause.
