Do all the TNA fans here read Impact spoilers?
The Ghost of bps21 replied to iggymcfly's topic in TNA Wrestling
I think that Christian has been the most entertaining wrestler that I've seen anywhere in the last 8 months. Good matches with Joe/Kaz/Angle... Really good mic work every week... I don't know what more you can ask from someone. -

It's kinda sad that this isn't getting more press since he actually is pound for pound the best fighter in the world...and if anyone watched the HBO leadins to Mayweather/Hatton...a heck of a personality to boot -

Half of 2 is horrible (the Anakin half) but I kinda dug the Obi Wan half. -

I agree with Spiff -
You know what's funny...and I ALWAYS do this... I threw a "The" on the front of the band name and got it wrong for the millionth time.

As soon as I signed up for this concept I knew 2 things...what my first pick would be...and that the other 19 would be a little harder to come up with. I remember the first time I heard the album (on vinyl no less). I wasn't aware of the band or any of their music. It's rare for me to be into something the first time I here it...but this one grabbed me and never did let go. As time passed and I got deeper into their catalogue, I found that this live album only got better and better. It's helped along by the inclusion of many songs from my favorite of their studio albums (Speaking in tongues) and is fuelled by an added funk that makes a song that you've heard a million times sound brand new again. It would be years until I finally saw the video of the album...which shows on video what I already fealt in the music. This live show is a journey. Beginning with a one man piece of the bands first hit Psycho Killer, and continuing to add pieces and sounds and playing faster, funkier and looser. By the time the band plays Take Me To The River the entire show has transformed from an uneasy looking frontman quietly strumming, into an all out celebration of the power of music. I couldn't pick another album for my #1 pick. It's my favorite album, by my favorite band. Stop Making Sense by The Talking Heads Thank God we could pick live albums...

"The holocaust goes green" There's a death metal song in there somewhere.

I'd rather be Rogen than Franco though... Franco: "Hey...it's that guy from Spiderman...no not Tobey" Rogen: "Hey...it's that funny guy from Knocked Up, 40 year old virgin and Superbad"

Who here hasn't changed their screen name?
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Ravenbomb's topic in General Chat
I only changed mine because I needed to see how to do it for other people when I was a mod... I went from bps21 to "Hail" bps21 (a way out of date TNA reference) I just never bothered to change it back. -
I'll play your game, Trebek... mostly because my DWI forces me to sit at home and do nothing else. ... You win this round... (That means sign me up)

I can't believe that after all this time I'm going to say this... ... ... ... ... I agree with Mole

This is actually kinda interesting... I know that we in Bowling Green Ohio (going back to where I was nearly a decade ago) got the full 3.5 hour show... who else's cable system picked up the entire feed?

Yeah...I didn't realize that Truthiness was a retard. ... So I'm just going to say what I meant... I honestly loved Christian/Angle last Sunday to the point where I recommend picking up the DVD just to see how awesome it was before the screwy booking. You get about 16 minutes of hard hitting, logical, nonstop greatness before the ending f's you. When Christian hits his unprettier out of f'n nowhere, out of an almost desperation to prove his point of being great, I defy you as a wrestling fan not to pop. Someone else had to see it and please back me up... -
It didn't cut out everywhere. I remember watching it at my fraternity house and the announcers talking about how they were running out of time...but only certain cable systems made the cut.

I'll just throw out that he has had a really strong last 6 months in the ring for TNA. His matches with Joe were great, he had good stuff with Kaz...and I think that he and Angle were having a fantastic match Sunday until the booking showed up. That's 3 different styles of workers that he's had a good run with of late. Granted...all 3 are really good...but he more than hung with them. he finally learned to drop the Randy Orton headlock... -
I just think it would be hilarious to have a bunch of envelopes show up at once to that PO box.

Let's Talk About....WrestleMania IV
The Ghost of bps21 replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
I've never liked that Bigelow lost in the first round. I know they had to keep the stupid face vs. heel garbage...and Gang was getting a bye into the semis.... But damn. Doing the boring draw with Jake/Rude sucked too. I wouldve loved a nice little Bam Bam/Rude match followed by (what would have been sweet) Rude vs. Savage match... ... And Steamboat/Savage goes without saying. I'm getting in my time machine and fixing all this...in the altered reality Savage has beaten Reed/Steamboat/Rude/DiBiase to win the title. Plan accordingly. -
Yeah...me too.

Oh and the most interesting thing going on in 2005 was watching Christian do everything in his power to get noticed by WWE for a push. He insulted Cena for months and got himself over huge. He got to do the big segment with Vince setting up the draft...and eventually did get his big match...with Jericho thrown in for no reason... Anyone remember how friggin over he was in Montreal right before the draft? I know he's Canadian...but he wasn't really a blip on WWE radar and he came out to a Hogan welcome. So of course...he jobbed to Cena and was moved to Smackdown where he was never pushed again (despite a lack of interesting people on top). Looking back on 2005 it's really easy to see why he left when his contract was up. This was far and away his best shot at getting moved up the card...and it didn't happen...and it wasn't likely ever to. -

I don't think he joined up with Angle. He walked right out after taking out Christian and the announcers made a point to say that "Tomko's for Tomko" again. -

Angle and Christian were on absolute fire in that match... the TNA booking took over. Oh well. -

I'd love it...but I think most people would (rightfully so) feel cheated out of a Mania finish. -

He used to be back in the day. I think they brought him in because Krystal is "in Orlando" for the Abyss/Judas match.
