I think there's only one reason they did it. The match they want is Cena vs. HHH, with Cena defending. They wanted to bring Cena back as a surprise for the Rumble...and that meant him losing the Rumble would have been both stupid and a let down. So the only way to get from point a to b is this way

The logic is that you can't do HHH/Cena for the title at Mania if Cena doesn't win the title before Mania.

It's not like it would be the first time they did it. Angle lost it to Rock at No Way Out...so that he could drop it to Austin at WrestleMania. It's really just all about what match they want to headline their big show. And with Cena and HHH around I get the feeling Orton isn't in that plan.

That sucks. Why are they going to waste a spot like that on someone who will get no rub from it? The spot opposite Flair at this years Mania is one of the more coveted spots on the show because of the circumstances surrounding it. So...you know... Kliq happens

I'm bumping this out of boredom. I'm so bored I'm reading old threads. I did find it interesting how this all turned out though. Konnan would get his group with Homicide...Apolo would get fired for noshowing immediately after it started...Shocker was never turned heel and eventually left. And LAX actually turned out to be awesome when they hooked up Hernandez and Homicide. ... Of course now they barely do anything and Konnan is gone...
