I like him too...but the way he's been used for the last year plus doesn't lead to thinking that his role (look strong all the time, only lose to the person who is being pushed to the top, repeat) is going to change anytime soon.
-
He's been in TNA for a long time now. He used the mask and gimmick in Puerto Rico before that. He's better than your average big man...especially when you put him in the ring with AJ Styles. The Styles DVD has 2 Abyss matches on it...and with good reason. That's when I kind of flipped from "meh its a big guy" to "Damn...he's pretty good". TNA should look back to that and have him and AJ go at it again. It would get him over...without the thumbtacks.
-
Monty Brown also represents the only fresh faces heavyweight contender they have. Abyss isn't a serious title contender...so you're left with JJ, Raven, Rhino and Hardy.
-
TNA's replay rating went up this week BTW...so the party excuse should be thrown out. Unless everyone parties like pussies and is home and sober by 12.
-
Yeah...that guy took a header into the ground on that last one.
-
Well...he's dead.

A case can be made. I always forget about the Dudleys since outside of the ECW show they hadn't been on TV in forever. Christians been on TV nonstop for years.
-
When Sabu's on he can be entertaining. Prior to his injury last year...he was a spot blowing machine. Does anyone remember when he eliminated himself from a TNA gauntlet that he was supposed to be in the finals of...TWICE? Since he's returned he's been on much more often.

7 minutes into the show...and we've already found the post of the night.
-
Here's a fun game... name tree wrestlers that fit together more awkwardly than Hardy, Sabu and Hoyt. ... GO!
-
That was the best use of the old names footage they've ever had. Basically saying that what they have now is so much better than the old guard. AJ Styles rules!
-
I saw Haas work in Buffalo over the summer against Daniels and Sabin. He looked pretty good since it was the first time I had seen him outside of the WWE. Of course...he was in there with Daniels and Sabin...

There's no one trickortreating on the East coast at 9pm. They're all done before 8 hits. Remember...it's dark now at 5:30 EST...and no one's handing out candy at 9 that has to be at work at 7 the next morning.

ECW was pushed...out the door...equally as hard...if not harder by Spikes previous incarnation.
-
I remember hearing that this was planned back when the deal was signed. It's a brilliant move since that stupid Dog Show always puts Raw on hiatus...and there's a bunch of wrestling viewers with nothing to watch. I think this was the first planned special Spike had given TNA. The one tonight was just supposed to be a one hour Impact since they're preempted on Saturday for UFC. The New Year's Eve special and the plans for it are sweet...but this is even better.

That doesn't surprise me at all. With all the little kids walking across the streets nobody wants to be out driving and at the same time they're probably exhausted from the parties over the weekend and don't want to cook. You know as an American what our philosophy is; Can't somebody else do it?. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't forget that Parents often come home a little earlier because of Halloween and have no time to cook anyways and since they spent the entire night walking around, they have no desire to cook or drive out and get food. Spend 20 minutes during Halloween @ any regular size neighborhood and you'll see a pizza delivery vehicle every couple minutes. Correct me if Im wrong BPS, but isn't Super Bowl Sunday the busiest day of the year for you guys? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah...SuperBowl is by far the busiest day of the year for both pickups and deliveries. It's pure hell. Especially in Buffalo...when you're driving through snowy roads during the game.
-
I deliver pizzas...and I can tell you that buisness goes up on Halloween...because everyone is at home. We got killed on deliveries.

I don't know how to read.

If Christian goes to TNA it will be a landmark signing. He'd be the first person to leave WWE...and go to TNA. People have been cut from the roster and gone to TNA. Sabu turned down Vince and went to TNA. But no one has left the big guys for the little guys. If Christian does...well...all it really shows is WWE's inability to keep their guys happy. Kazarian will probably end up being the first to leave WWE and go to TNA...but he shouldn't count since he's a cruiser and was already in the company.
-
Yeah they have some hot bitches now. Traci is still my favorite though. Of course she's stuck with Matt Bentley while Kim gets JJ and AMW and Gayda will probably get Haas and a big push.
-
I'm rewatching my season 1 DVD set...and I have to say that the writers did a phenomenal job with the buildup for Veronica/Logan. She finds out Duncan likes Meg...and then Leo shows up for her at the 80's dance...which is the perfect distraction for what's building with Logan. Why can't all shows be so deceptively clever?
-
The debate of what the match should be will be an interesting one. I'll throw my vote in for Styles vs. Joe with Joe winning the X title. But I will say that Brown beating Jarrett for the NWA title would make me happy.

Spike TV is better at booking than TNA is. That's friggin brilliant.
-
The video walkthrough on the last OXM disc was so good... I can wait.

SPIKE is getting behind TNA. SPIKE TV has purchased a lot of ad time to push the TNA Thursday Prime Time Special. They purchased airtime on the Howard Stern Show, as well as 1050 ESPN Radio in NYC. These are rather expensive ads so SPIKE TV is really pushing this hard. [Credit: PWINsider.com] Also, if you have been watching SPIKE TV at all, you would notice that they are running numerous ads, 2-5 spots per hour for the TNA special. Well...it's already fair to say that TNA isn't getting the ECW treatment from Spike. It's pretty cool to stop and think that after all the misteps, close calls and just a lot of stuff in the last 3+ years... Tomorrow night TNA will have it's largest viewing audience ever...for a show that is said to be a homerun. I can't remember the last time I was this pumped for a tv wrestling show. I mean...it's just so ridiculously cool to look at it and say..."Hey...tomorrow Samoa Joe is going to be on primetime national TV"
