If they took Hoyt off TV...the crowd would forget about him within 2 tapings. Hell...the only reason I think they still cheer for him is because people on the internet started pointing out that the crowd was starting to turn on him. The crowd is kind of in business for themselves out there with their stupid bouncing and stupid chants... But...it does make for a hot crowd. Which is great. Even if it's the same thing over and over.

Well...I think I'll be going to bed early tonight. If I can make it the next 10 minutes until my teams game starts...I'm sure their 4 yard passes and 4 running plays in the first 3 drives will put me to sleep. ...just like every other stupid week.

From reading the spoilers...the 6 man X match was said to be great. They said the same about the Ultimate X also...but I've become numb to them now. They should have put it on the shelf for a year after AJ won vs. Williams and Sabin. I'm sure the show's going to be good. If I was a new viewer...I might not know everyone's name...but I find the hour of Impact every week pretty exhilerating. Then again...it probably would be better if I knew everyone's name.

In ring wise...no one can honestly tell me that Cena or Batista is better. But that isn't even the point. The point is that TNA has a plan. They have a plan to build their own stars. They have a plan for Monty Brown, and Samoa Joe, and as always AJ Styles.

I don't know what to think. The Saturday Night ratings have gone up...so they should look at next Thursday as a success...right? I'll predict a 1.35 for the night. A moderate success compared to Saturday late night...but by far and away the most people to ever watch a TNA show. They seem to be moving all uphill at the moment.

This whole "busch league" argument is predicated on WWE's programming being "major league". Seriously? John Cena? Major League? Really? Is that what we're doing here?
-
It's the right move for reasons discussed in the BFG thread. Also...Impact on Saturday sounds FANTASTIC. I'm sure the 2 hour special is good...but DAMN. That looks like good TV.

New fanbase. Essentially anything that happened in the past never happened. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So...so true. Guys like Sabu and Hardy are now paid to put over homegrown talent like Abyss and Brown. You can tell everyone that Brown is this "star" but beating Hardy makes it so.

Good news even if the game sucks. If I may wax nostalgic for a moment... After week 4 of their Wednesday ppvs...I led the charge to get this forum made. I was told we could have it as a seperate entity (and this was key because some wanted to lump the rest of indy wrestling in this folder too) as long as they stayed in business. That was over 3 years ago. And now they have a national honest to God TV deal...monthly ppvs that blow the WWE's out of the water...DVDs that I actually saw (and bought) at Media Play today...and now a video game in the making. For as much bad press that can be thrown TNA's way...they have suceeded beyond anyone's imagination. Huzzah!

If I recall correctly..that was Raven's brainchild heading into the first Monsters Ball. This time around...they didn't make as big of a deal out of it because Rhino had to come out for the preshow. The first match...they said they had just been released from the rooms...and they all played like the light was hurting their eyes. They even showed videos of them locked away.
-
I think Pinkeye is still my favorite. Although there are so many greats since then...I'm a sucker for the early stuff. And this episode brings me right back to watching it in my college dorm.

I slept on it and now I like what they did with Rhino winning last night. If you step away from the reasons why Monty or Joe couldn't be in that spot...and think about it from a purely storyline sense... Having someone unexpected win the title makes sense...for that one night. Nash's injury created a storyline opportunity for anyone to get a shot. With Rhino winning 3 matches (including the bloody weapons highspot match)...from a storyline standpoint...it was just his night. That happens in real sports all the time. On one given day...a team or a guy can beat someone they aren't supposed to...just because that's the nature of sports. And...again...they couldn't throw out the long term plans for Brown, Joe or even Raven just because Nash was injured. I'm trying to put myself in the position of someone who ordered the show based on seeing the Spike TV month...and it is pretty cool to watch Rhino survive hell and pull the upset.
-
Hoyt's only over because they play to the same crowd every time. He doesn't work now that they have a TV audience.
-
WWE thinks viewers are too dumb to care about more than one character at a time. TNA's always been pretty good at getting accross that the title is the end game for everyone in the company. It's one of the first things they did right...even if it was weird to see a guy named Monty Brown that no one had ever heard of calling out Ken Shamrock way back in week...like 2.

You watch Bully too much. -
I think Nash would have disapeared again quickly. There's nothing really for him to do except pass the torch to Hoyt. ...and I don't want to see that. I'd guess the plan is to just fill months with Jarrett/Raven/Rhino crap until they feel it's time to pull the trigger on Monty. Monty will use those months to squash your Hardy's, Sabu's and Abyss's. Well...I guess you can't squash Abyss. I figure Monty has to beat a bunch of guys before they feel he's at the level they want. On the other side...Joe will win his next X title opportunity and then keep beating people until they figure out who they want him to give his unbeaten rub to.
-
Oh...I'd be all for a squashing. In fact...they should main event an Impact with that...and then have him get pounced and pinned... And then run an unscheduled X division match with the time left that they need to fill. Hardy adds nothing for me unless he trying to kill himself...like he did tonight.
-
But...from a new audience perspective (and since their are more people watching the show now than were on FSN...or good lord the weekly ppvs) having Brown beat Hardy is pretty much the best way to establish him atop the pecking order.
-
I forgot about Williams' title shot. That probably will be next month. The thing that I like about TNA is that they've got these two forces of nature in Joe and Monty and they're slowly pushing them towards their spot. When this promotion started...they just didn't do that.

GLOVER WOULD BE PERFECT!!!! I never thought about casting the role. Damn that's good. -
Oh...and I'm sure most people had a problem with Joe/Liger and the shortness of it... I'm not one of those people. The problem that I have is that they didn't make a BIG DEAL out of Joe choking him out so fast. After his dance enterance and all those streamers...seeing Joe kill Liger fast was just what I would have done... But I would have used it to put over just how unstoppable Joe is. They didn't.
-
"Rhino was booked so strong they can't just give the belt back to Jarrett at the Spike special or even the next ppv and I hope they realize that. " They don't. What kills me here is that both Joe and Monty would have been better choices...but it was too early for them to win it. Rhino is just there to transition back to Jarrett ASAP so they can go back to the Monty Brown plan down the line. As for Joe...he can't lose a match until he's losing the X title that he'll be winning sooner than later. Which on one hand sucks since he could have gotten the monster push Rhino did...but on the other hand is best for him and everyone else since Joe/Styles is going to be counted on for a (probably the next) buyrate.

So....why was MikeSC banned this time?
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Styles's topic in Site Feedback
I wanted to ban him over a year ago when he was being uberannoying in the TNA folder. I was pretty much told I couldn't because...well...no one but me went into the TNA folder at that time. Ironically...I've come to like Mike as a poster. And the world keeps turning. -
TNA's done a good job of getting me pumped for this show. I always look forward to their ppvs... but Joe/Liger, Styles/Daniels, Aries/Shelley/Dutt/Strong and Sabin/Williams/Bentley...and AMW/Naturals to be honest...have me super pumped. The only argument I have with this show is that there are 3 major slots that are just reruns. All 3 title matches lack creativity. Nash wasn't a good pick for the main event before he got sick... Daniels/AJ has been done so often...but it's always really good... Same for AMW/Naturals. Solid tag match...that I've seen 7 times... Including last night. Maybe they're just depending on what they know is strong. ...whatever...I'm not going to be that guy and complain about AJ/Daniels Iron Man II. Forget I said anything. Bound For Glory...the night Jushin Liger gets choked the fuck out.
