BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Jebus's topic in TNA Wrestling
BORN AND RAISED IN THE USA....BORN AND RAISED IN THE USA -
Diamonds in the Rough Vs Apollo, Siaki and Shark Boy -Diamonds rag tag bunch of losers Lance Hoyt Vs “Alpha Male” Monty Brown -Monty Brown. The no brainer pick of the night. Next World Champ. X Division 4 Way -Dutt and Shelley are pretty due for a win here...but I'll pick Aries. Abyss Vs Jeff Hardy Vs Sabu Vs Rhino -Hardy goes into tacks, Sabu goes into table, Rhino tries a gore into a black hole slam. Abyss. Ultimate X Matt Bentley Vs Chris Sabin Vs Petey Williams -No idea. Petey's treading water, Sabin's always ready for a push...but Bentley just returned...I'll pick him. Joe vs. Liger -Time to choke that bitch out. AMW vs. Naturals -AMW Daniels vs. AJ -AJ 3, Daniels 2 Main Event Anyone's guess. Jarrett has to win though, if they have any booking plan for Monty Brown to beat him in the next 6 months.

I've been watching wrestling nonstop for 18 years. NONSTOP. ... I didn't know Lashley was black... until I clicked that link. ... Smackdown does not exist.

Alright I'll ram my head into the desk at this early point in the season... LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!!

All I have to say is that anyone who rags on Abyss after a month of free TV ... Just give the guy a chance. No matter how ridiculous he looks...he's a million times better than Kane and Taker.

BREAKING NEWS - KEVIN NASH IN HOSPITAL IN ORLANDO
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Jebus's topic in TNA Wrestling
1. I actually really hope that Nash is Ok. TNA doesn't have the history of working us for their beneift...and as misguided as they are...I firmly believe that Nash vs. JJ is what they wanted on their big show. 2. If they do plan on Brown beating JJ down the road...then they should NOT put the title on someone else just because today. 3. I think this ppv will be the biggest in TNA history...and I can't think that Nash would fake out of that. 4. And I'm ashamed to say this (if Nash is really hurting) but this just makes the show better. Everything else (outside of the Diamonds in the Rough crap) is gold...and now the main event is a ?. -

I love Mr Show. I voted Larry Sanders anyway. -
Every time he opens his mouth I'm left with this feeling that Nash would be one of my favorite wrestlers if he just didn't suck so hard.

Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Dangerous A's topic in TNA Wrestling
Shitty finish aside, Raven and Jarrett's first match at Destiny definitely had an epic feel and didn't see it until they released the 'Best of the Title Matches' DVD about a year later. I can only imagine what it felt like watching it live. I remember Dames' putting over the atmosphere in the diatribe though. Although that match had the advantage of being live, considering this match has almost 4 months of build (going back to Jarrett being throw out of KotM) and then declaring TNA wasn't big enough for the both of them a month later, I think they'd could build some drama. And even what's happened so far on Spike, eventually they are going to depend on Jarrett/Raven to headline a big show. Before I read about the special, I'd assumed that was going to be Genesis, after they'd whored Nash to get casual fans. In thinking about it this morning, I think they could get away with doing it at both the special and the PPV since unlike say, Jarrett and Styles, TNA has only broadcasted just 1 one-on-one Raven/Jarrett match (and about 20 secs of clips from the 2nd) and a large part of their fanbase has been clamoring for a rematch. Ordinarily, I'd think the six man would be fine, if they weren't headlining this week's Impact with a similiar. They need a match that screams this isn't a normal Impact, so that someone who is aware of the product, who say usually looks at the spoilers or the line-up for Impact and decides it's not worth their time, will tune in, combined with the 750,000 regular Impact viewers. So I don't think they should throw away existing storylines (and there's no way they could have already had a plan for this show since it didn't exist 24 hrs ago), they can incorporation them into a "Clash of the Champions" type of show instead of an Impact on a different day show. If they were just broadcasting that week's show in the slot, I'd say go with the regular "save everything for the PPV" Impact, but IMO, since this is clearly a test for a future primetime slot, they need to make it special. The best matches they have that can do, IMO, are Jarrett/Raven, AMW/3D, and some combo of Daniels/Styles/Liger/Joe. I just suggested Jarrett/Raven because they've already put AMW/3D on TV once and at some point they have to make people for it. And I think if they do a tag match with the X-D 3 (plus one in this case), they can wow enough people that when they do say Styles/Joe II, people will go out of their way to see it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The atmosphere for the match is really why TNA took a step backwards when Raven didn't win. It's the only time TNA has hit that level of interest. And they did it without free TV. Man they really dropped that ball. -

So, Who's Going To Buy Their 1st TNA PPV?
The Ghost of bps21 replied to The Dames's topic in TNA Wrestling
I'll get it. But then...the only TNA shows I haven't ordered are week 1 and 3 of the weekly shows. ... I don't count. -
The last few posts have really opened this thread up for some intelligent discussion. I can see both sides. The main event is Jarrett vs. Nash. Now they had a watchable match the last time (a miracle in its own right) but we all know that there are several more deserving people in that main event slot. Even if it was someone working Jarrett for the title. The main event is the downfall of the Spike TV debut. <INSERT BIGGEST NAME POSSIBLE INTO MAIN EVENT> Matt Hardy chose WWE, Foley chose WWE, Sting won't return calls... But...to my mind... Turning down Samoa Joe (who I have come to respect as the best worker not only in the promotion...but in North America at this point) vs. Jushin Liger, Styles vs. Daniels, Aries vs. Strong vs. Shelley vs. Dutt, and Ultimate X... That's a lot. The biggest problem with putting Jarrett back on top...isn't Jarrett being on top... It's ignoring the things that this promotion has done right for the last few months. Their ppvs have been really good. They got a legit national TV deal. They are featuring no less than 4 (half the card) X division matches on their biggest show. Now...they are trying to middle it by putting "names" in the title picture...but who can honestly blame them? They're flying in Jushin Friggin Liger to put over Samoa Joe to appease those of us that hate Jarrett. A little respect?

He really should have picked someone other than AJ to be his blast on the X division. It seems like AJ has become the buzzword for what WWE thinks of lesser wrestling in TNA. He's seen clips...and decides that AJ doesn't know how to tell a story in the ring? This will go right up with the "CM Punk can't work" stuff from last month. WWE is lame and boring 99% of the time...so anything that is different from that is inherently bad. ... And the Boogeyman debuted on Smackdown this week.

OK...I just finished a long night of drinking...but I'm pretty sure that Skipper faces Joe in the second hour of the taping. Also...when a match is Dutt vs. Shelley vs. Aries vs. Strong...I really don't give a crap if there is a storyline reason for it. There all B team X guys...isn't trying to move up the ladder reason enough? Does the fact that there is no storyline reason for Joe vs. Liger make it a throwaway bad match?

Curb Your Enthusiam Season 5 Thread
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Angle-plex's topic in Television & Film
This has been a weak season so far. But is anyone watching Extras right after it? It makes me laugh tears of joy. -
It's still an issue. Even with that bad pitch...there are 2 outs with one man on in the bottom of the ninth. That's a lot different then game over.

Weekend Boxoffice Report Oct 7-9
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
I skipped most of the thread because my opinion is really only coming from the first few posts... Serenity is undeniably intelligent entertainment. So I blame stupid America (and those who haven't seen it based on reasons listed are the poster children) for it's failure. Serenity's failure will lead us to more mindless action flicks without the wit, heart or passion that people refuse to find. Huzzah! -
This is my favorite chant. I've been to 3 RoH shows (with a 4th on Saturday) and "Joe's going to kill you" is as good as chants get.

I'm pretty surprised it went up. That's great news for them. I thought it would fall too.

I never bother preordering games for launch. Games are always in available at launch. Systems...that's harder.
