"Also funny that not a one of you would actually say this anywhere where he could respond." And who's fault is that?

No...everyone here likes wrestling. That statement is more like how the guy that shot Reagan liked Jodie Foster

Being an asshole to everyone else wasn't even the main problem, as I recall. The main problem was that he acted like the puro folder was his and he should dictate the rules to everyone else. God forbid you ask a question in the wrong place...then you'd be treated to some flaming. He had his supporters in the folder that argued that he "knew his stuff"...but at the end of the day that is not liscence to be an asshole to everyone else.

Hitting a fastball isn't the hard part. Hitting the curveball, slider, change-ups sprinkled in with the fastball is what keeps good fastball hitters stuck down in the minors their entire career. Micheal Jordan could hit a fastball. Look how far it got him.

Yeah I'd be like a fielding specialist...who's specialty is not being able to field very well.

I look at this all differently than I think ESPN does. Would I get killed trying to be a boxer? Yes I would. Can I at least throw a punch? Yes I can. Would I win as a football player? No I would not. Can I at least throw a football...catch a football...Yes I can. Would I succeed as a baseball player? Nope. Can I at least hit a curveball? NOPE. Most of these sports I can at least get out of the gates on. I would fail at all of them...but I'd at least get started. I'd never get out of the batters box in baseball.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
I find roughly 75 percent of all Angel episodes boring and hard to get through. Seasons 1 and 2 are a chore. Most of season 3 is as well. The first 5 eps of season 4 are downright unwatchable...but at least it finally picks up. With the exception of Angel turning dark for the middle of season 2, Wesley stealing Connor in season 3, the Beast arriving in season 4 (which was the first good year of the show IMO). I could leave the rest up until season 5. Angel is easily last on my list of Whedon shows. I'd rank it 4th out of 3 if I could. -

My Top 10 Buffy/Angel episode list is going to look shockingly similar to my Buffy top 10 episode list. I'd be shocked if anything but MAYBE A hole in the World cracked that list. -
This is crap that the net can get away with stuff like this. ... ... ... I hear Jeff Garcia only picked Cleveland because that Indians player had done a gay porn. ...

I got Ed Wood through Barnes and Noble. I gues they never shipped them back...so my girlfriend (who works there) bought one from the warehouse. -

Mummy Mummy's Hand Mummy's Tomb Mummy's Ghost Mummy's Curse Invisible Man Phantom of the Opera Creature From The Black Lagoon I'd like to see them throw the 5 Mummy movies in one set. The other 3 can be another set...and then throw in some new sepcial features on there. -
Here's something interesting: "NEW YORK -- Watch the NFL draft or NBA dunks? For most viewers, the answer was easy: go with the picks over the playoffs. ESPN's seven-hour coverage of the draft's first day on Saturday (noon-7 p.m. EDT) was seen in an average of nearly 3.4 million households, an increase of 11 percent over last year's draft and the most ever. The 3.8 cable rating tied for the third-highest NFL draft rating ever on ESPN, behind the 4.2 in '93, 3.9 in '91 and 3.8 in '88. In contrast, TNT's coverage of first-round NBA playoff games between Miami and New Orleans, and Detroit and Milwaukee drew ratings that were more than three times lower. The Heat-Hornets game, which began at 1 p.m. EDT, earned a 1.0 rating. The Pistons-Bucks game aired from 3:45-6 p.m. and drew a 1.6. More than 31 million people watched at least part of the two-day coverage of the draft on ESPN and ESPN2, making it the most-viewed draft in the 25 years since the cable network began televising the event."

It weighs a ton because those little busts are hefty. If anyone ever breaks in to my house...they'll be getting a Lon Chaney Jr. upside the head. -
Season Premieres that hooked me on shows: Deadwood and Wonderfalls did this year...so I guess they count. Firefly's 2 part pilot didn't air first...so I don't know if it counts...but it might be my favorite ever. I liked Buffy's premiere...but didn't see it when it started. I think it did a great job introducing characters and mythology. Alias had a decent premiere I thought.

"Goldylocks remains unpopular with most wrestlers in the locker room. There is also some growing animosity toward Chris Harris, James Storm, and Abyss, as other wrestlers accuse them of being shameless suckups to members of the office staff. Dutch Mantel has been a big advocate of Abyss since the two worked together in Puerto Rico. There are some wrestlers who feel that Harris and Storm get a bad rap from wrestlers who are jealous of the push they are receiving... " 1. They have every right to hate Goldylocks. She serves less than no purpose. 2. Mantel should be high on Abyss...EVERYONE in the office should be high on Abyss. 3. The AMW thing is interesting. Most people think they're overrated...and that's fine...but they are the two guys who more than anyone are TNA guys. I mean...I'd heard or seen everyone else somewhere else before...AMW is the homegrown talent. Pushing them isn't something that I'd call wrong.

I guess I was lucky. That was actually a concern I had when I went with the box over just buying the individual sets. -
The Monster Legacy DVD Gift Set: Anyone else...

I pickeed it up yesterday for 60 bucks at Best Buy. They had the individual DVD sets for 20 bucks a piece...but I wanted all 3 of them anyway...and that basically means the little busts are free. -
I bought the box set of the three Universal Monsters set.

Punk and TNA had a falling out after the Teddy Hart incident. After that they pulled all of their contracted talent from RoH. Punk is the only person with a contract still in RoH...which tells you what kind of terms he and TNA are on. Julio just got screwed over as a result.

You know...if there's a supplemental draft...the Giants, Bills, and maybe someone else wouldn't have a shot at Williams because they don't have first round picks. From my team's standpoint I don't care because we don't have room for him now...but it's possible that the Giants handed Mike Williams to the Chargers in this deal. With two first round picks...and the supplemental draft giving the biggest chance to the team that picked first in the draft this year (IE: San Diego)...the odds are pretty decent that Williams becomes a Charger if there is a draft. Second bets odds lie with the Raiders... The Cardinals wouldn't put up a first for him (too many good WRs) and the Giants couldn't if they wanted to.
-
As a general rule...I don't mind trading future picks...even first rounders. We (the Bills) used one to get Bledsoe...but picked up another one by the time the draft rolled around by franchising Peerless Price. However...in the Giants case...this was WAY to much. They have no O-Line, lost a lot on Defense and are going to be starting a rookie QB...not to mention their division is pretty fucking tough right now. Barring the stars aligning in just the right way...they traded a top 10 pick next year to go along with the 4th overall this year...and a 3rd and 5th.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
The Ghost of bps21 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Lots of news from whatever Buffy convention just happened courtesty of Aint it Cool News: "I went to the Cleveland Slayer Convention this weekend and thought you might want to hear some news. Nick Brendon did a Q/A and let slip that Joss is working on another show. When asked what it was called he mumbled something like "Brothers" but then said he didn't know. He also said that a Buffy movie is going to happen it's just a question of when. I also found it strange that he mentioned a Buffy cartoon that has Allison, Anthony and him doing voices that might be picked up soon. I thought the Buffy cartoon was dead...? Mercedes McNab said that Angel is dead as an ongoing series but she did hear about the TV movies. She even started to cry when talking about the shows end. Anthony Head talked about Whedon and him doing a spin off called Ripper. He said that he and Joss talk about it every time they see each other. It is supposed to start off as a 2 hour TV movie. Morena Baccarin said that the Firefly movie would start filming in June and that you would get more back story on Inara and Book. She also said that as far as she knows everyone is back for the movie." -
These go in the pile with every other "name" they've tried to bring in. It's meaningless until you see them...and therefore not worth my time to complain about...yet.

I really liked the finale's of Cheers and Quantum Leap.

Favre is still a playmaker. What he needs is some more help in the form of weapons around him.
